  1. Exactly. The comment was they are going to see where the best place is for him and they weren't going to rush him into the NHL. Reading between the lines, that doesn't sound like the plan is to keep him in the NHL this year, which is disappointing. Hopefully he impresses so much at camp that they keep him around long term. At least watching him will give us something to look forward to. I'd rather watch Carlsson learn in the NHL then the Ducks offer a spot to Kassian.
  2. I'm just as excited about you to see the team play again. I'm excited for the #1 prospect pool to start playing and the hype around these young defenders. But then Verbeek goes out and brings in a guy like Harrington or signs Hagg or trades for Lybushkin which just pushes these young guys out of the lineup yet again, and the excitement fads a bit. I want to see what the young guys do, not roster fillers like Hagg, Vaks, and Lybushkin. With those guys playing, the defense doesn't look much better on paper then it did last year, sorry. And the forwards, without Zegras, look horrendous. Verbeek has stated that he doesn't expect Carlsson to be here all year, so after his 9 games we can take him off the list too. So what does that leave left to get excited about? Troy Terry and Mason Mctavish, followed by no support. Sounds like a winning formula to me. Hopefully Zegras is signed soon and Carlsson stays.
  3. Aside from the contracts being annoying, this hour glass posts are quickly becoming annoying too and make zero sense. Give it up. You're a master of magic? Do a trick and make the hour glass posts disappear.
  4. Great to see the Ducks win tonight but this is going to be another Verbeek massive mistake. Carlsson 0 points in 1sr preseason game against a rookie ljneup. Fantili 2 assista in hos first game. I truly belive Verbeek made a big whiff there
  5. Neither of these contracts are happening anytime soon with lame duck Verbeek in charge. Both signings will be announced Nov 30 when Verbeek is pressured to get something done. By then the Ducks will have one win and the season will be lost.
  6. He will not come in at 5.5-6 on a bridge. Verbeek just signed Killorn to 4 years and $6.25 per. Zegras is better then Killorn and that would be a comparable length of contract. Zegras should get more then 6.25 mil.
  7. No Im not. Im saying there seems to be something going arou d about Verbeek not thinking a winger is worth big money. Im saying Kane, a winger, made $10.5mil per season at the age of 25. Wingers can be paid big bucks in this league too. Not just centers.
  8. And he will hold zero value come December 1 when he becomes ineligible to play this year.
  9. Verbeek is terrible plain and simple. At least Gauthier would have his players signed. Verbeek just seems, in all his interviews and quotes, that he knows nothing about this job. Guessing he was hired as he was the cheapest option. There is no reason why he couldnt have Zegras and Drysdale signed and honestly if it wasnt for a looming arbitration, I believe he wouldnt have Terry signed either. That arbitration hearing was the only thing that forced him to get a deal done. Drysdale 2 years 3mil, Zegras 8 years 8.5 - 9 mil. Contracts done. How hard is that? And if he doesnt believe wingers get paid $9mil, Patrick Knae was a winger and got $10mil.
  10. No point in trading him either. With Verbeek's awesome track records in trades we would only get a C level prospect, 3rd round pick, and cap dump player like McGin and Verbeek would think he stole the show.
  11. That number is accurate. Remember, this is the same GM that was only offering Terry $4mil when he wanted $8mil. Verbeek is awful. I wish he was never hired. He is quickly trying to make me a fan of a new team as with him in charge, the Ducks are in for a lot of trouble and the young guys that they have built up will all leave town so we can have such star players as Harrington, Strome, and Vatrano.
  12. On the other side of that, if they were only $1-1.5 mil apart, it wouldn't take all summer to get a deal done.
  13. https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/anaheim-ducks-rfa-trevor-zegras-have-tangible-gap-in-contract-talks-1.2009979 The wording as well that "they're far apart on the average annual value" suggests it is much greater then $2 mil. $2 mil would be close as each side could give $1mil and meet in the middle. Again, I believe this gap is in the $4mil plus territory, and it would not surprise me, Verbeek has no clue what he is doing. Really is not that hard for them to be that far apart on a 3 year contract. Say for example Zegras wants $8mil per year and Verbeek is only offering $4mil. There is your $4 mil difference. Or Zegras wants $7 but Verbeek thinks he is only worth $3 per on a 3 year contract.
  14. The actual wording was a tangible gap in AAV between the two sides. And the meaning of tangible is easily noticeable. SO probably more then $2mil apart. I'm going with closer to $4mil apart.
  15. I'm going to assume it's the latter and maybe even more of a gap ($4mil vs 8mil). If they were a million apart or less TSN would be saying that they are close to an agreement. When they report that they are far apart, we arent even close to agreeing on numbers. That's how the TSN reporting has been for years. Less then a million would be close to a deal. Far apart is nowhere near. I assume the Drysdale contract is $825000 vs $3mil. Right now I believe I could run this team better then this guy that's supposedly educated for the job.
