  3. Stick your "leadership" in....Strome, McGinn, Lubushkin and now 34 y/o Kilgorn eat $16.5 mil of cap space, money that could be used to sign Zegras and go after young free agents next summer.
  4. Too little for Zegras and too much for Drysdale, IMO. Oh, Verbeek, Verbeek, look what people say about you on this forum. Is anybody else thinks he is a good manager?
  5. Not sure how do you compare someone like Cale Makar with Drysdale. Makar is physical, despite being undersized; he is also excellent on PP, PK, possesses great vision, point per game defenseman - all merits that I didn't see in Drysdale so far.
  6. Zegras must be signed asap, if we don't want to repeat 1997 scenario with Paul Kariya. Drysdale can sit out as long as he wants, I don't care much about him. Just another undersized, soft, non-physical defenseman with horrible +/- ratio and limited offensive skills.
  7. You know, most people eat soup with the regular spoon, but sometimes you see people eating soup with the tea spoon. I personally never saw Verbeek eating his soup.
  8. Interesting article about Gibson https://thehockeynews.com/nhl/anaheim-ducks/news/ducks-news-writer-lists-long-time-veteran-as-worst-contract-for-anaheim-ml0802
  9. Zegras needs to be signed before training camp to avoid possible destructions in the team. As far as Drysdale....I don't even understand how this guy has guts to hold out. 0 goals +0 assists in 8 games last season before he got injured. To be honest, if Ducks GM finds a proven 20+ goals scoring forward in exchange for Drysdale, I wouldn't mind at all.
  10. Not necessarily agree with you on this one. If you remember, Kariya was a scoring machine, a good penalty killer, and a captain of the Mighty Ducks. Jack Ferreira offered him 5-year contract for $25 mil, which Kariya's agent rejected, because players of Kariya's caliber were making $7-8 mil per season. Low balling Kariya did not play well for the Ducks: not only significant FA stayed away from this team after watching this circus, Kariya left the Ducks as soon as he became FA. Same summer Teemy Selanne decided not to sign with the Ducks as well.
  11. Current situation reminds me of Paul Kariya holdout in 1997. Mighty Ducks did not sign him till Christmas, sighting "we have to be fiscally reasonable". then Kariya signed for $14 mil to complete 1997/1998 season and 1998/1999 season. 3 seasons later Kariya took a huge pay cut to play for Colorado. Verbeek, is that what you want to do? Let me ask you, you spent $5 mil on Strome, $6.25 mil on 34 y/o Killorn, $2.75 on McGinn - these are players who are not going to make this team better, and it's a total of $14 mil of salary cap space. I don't really care about Drysdale that much, but I do care about Zegras, one of the few bright players on this organization. Get him signed, dude!
  12. Sanderson is grossly overpaid. Ducks should not follow this pattern.
  13. It's amazing how on this forum within only 2 years Verbeek transformed from franchise savior to someone who is discussed under "Worst GM in Ducks history" topic.
  14. Believe it or not, I always liked Freddy. He was outstanding in 2014/2015 playoffs; thanks to his incredible saves we made it to the conference finals. In 2015-2016 season he had an incredible .947 SV%. I was so mad on BM, when he traded him right after this season to Toronto for late 1st round pick (Sam Steel, yeak).
  15. NHL website published top 30 goalie rankings. For the most part of it, it makes sense to me. Also, it makes sense that our legend is not even on this list. Fantasy hockey top 25 goalie rankings (nhl.com)
  16. Funny, how I hear NHL rumors that Ducks should trade for Nylander, they have cap space and assets, bla, bla, bla....and then I see Verbeek sends 4th round pick for Lubushkin and bringing back Harrington. Swimming in the shallow waters, our beloved GM. Oh, man I miss those Brian Burke days....
  17. Gibson has one of the worst contracts on this team, per Hocket Writers Charlie Hiller. I agree with him. Since PV did not find any takers for Gibson, Ducks stacked with his albatross contract for the next 4 years. My prediction is Gibson will play for 2 more years, and the last 2 years of his contract will be bought out by Ducks. Ducks’ Worst Contracts for the 2023-24 Season | Yardbarker
  18. I wonder what would it take to lure Chris Kreider to Anaheim. Him and Zegras are good buddies off the ice and training together all summer long.
  19. Devon Levi is an amazing goaltending prospect. If PV could convince Buffalo's GM to trade him to the Ducks, that would be miracle.
  20. Ducks missed playoffs for 5 years in a row, last season they where dead last. What positive thing do you want me to comment, say that everything is wonderful and terrific? It is what it is, and I am not shy to talk about it, because I care about this team. By the way, this is the FORTH time you comment my posts with "Rable, Rable, Rable". I know there are different people here with different opinions, I won't be surprised if some of the members may have some autistic disorders of different spectrum, it's life. But, assuming that you are an average person with the average IQ, what you doing is very unusual.
  21. As Eric Stephens mentioned in the Athletic, If PV could find a taker on Gibson's contract, he would be done it by now. The fact that he is still on the team tells us that he is untradeable. Period. Nobody wants to take on his contract. All these bla, bla, bla proposals that we should do this and Edmonton should do that is a waist of time. I wouldn't be surprised if Edmonton GM clearly stated to Verbeek not to mention Gibson's name in any trade negotiations.
  22. Dream young man, dream. You should know Ducks organization better by now. PV will pick up some warm body (maybe 2 warm bodies) off waivers right before training camp starts, and this will be the end of off-season stories.
  23. Looks like Verbeek is done by giving out retirement contracts to former good players. I don't expect him to make any other significant moves except picking up some warm bodies right before training camp for a minimum NHL salary. Maybe, he'll pick up another JoeSchmo from the waivers. The way this team is structured right now, I don't expect Ducks to make playoffs. With the shaky, unmotivated starting goaltender who did not find any takers in the offseason, and defensive miscues, Ducks will finish their season next April. However, I don't expect them to be the worst team in the NHL either. I would say they'll finish with the 4th or 5th worst record in the league, and that could potentially bring another good prospect. But if the Ducks will not make playoffs in 2024-2025 season, there will be no excuse for PV not to get fired.
  24. Everything is a mystery when it comes to the latest Ducks news. Imagine, Toronto fans don't know who the assistants will be?
