  1. He may have whiffed, we’ll find out. Carlsson at least looks good though. Also, look at the lineup Columbus was icing compared to Pittsburgh, then compare it to who Carlsson played with tonight.
  2. Cap space for a cap strapped team is more valuable that I thought. No sweetener maybe needed to get a first round pick but there's no way Verbeek makes a move like this while he's in a stupid standoff with Zegras and even Drysdale
  3. Pastujov was a great dart board throw for a 3rd round pick. I wish the team would elaborate how badly he was injured. My concern is if it had a real detriment to his off-season training which was more important than ever since he's making the jump to pro. My dislike of the Myatovic pick is already well documented. I watched his highlight video from this past season and I felt like he was elevated by a stacked Thunderbirds team. He has a decent wrist shot but there's nothing really of note other than that. He seems like he likes to cut to middle and open up lanes to shoot but I don't see him being able to pull that off at higher levels. Thunderbirds shouldn't be nearly as dominate this year so we'll see how he handles that.
  4. Damn. Just tragic. OC guy and former Duck
  5. He has back to back 60 point seasons at age 22, so him getting to 70 seems very doable. Other than Terry, no one has shown anything close to that imo With Zegras, We are pretty close to erntedankfest
  6. Zegras has leverage in the sense that the Ducks can’t score and he’s one of the only players that can produce offense. He’s 22 also. If he turns into a perennial 70+ player then that’s rare for this team to have. I don’t like the odds of them replaced by him. It’s not about scaring him off, it’s about him not playing, the Ducks still being bad, he potentially wanting out and then the cycle repeats.
  7. Uh oh the coyotes finally found a stud center. Simply nasty
  8. At this point for me, the it’s just the fact that he’s not signed. I resigned myself to a bridge deal awhile ago but this should not have been a problem. I agree that a low 6 aav sounds good and then however they set up his qualifying offer amount. 3-4 mil aav offer is total bs and the Ducks nickle and diming him while paying killorn looks absolutely stupid. The Samuelis must be on board with this so they should also shoulder the blame if this ultimately goes where we hope that it doesn’t
  9. no wonder they don’t have any beat reporters now. Can’t ask management tough questions if there isn’t anyone to ask them
  10. Yeah. Pretty interesting. Defended Gibson talked about Zegras and Verbeek trying to set precedent for guys like McTavish and Carlsson Cronin is intense but a good communicator.
  11. No one knows why McTavish wasn’t listed on the group sessions. He’s been doing media and there’s been no word of an injury at all. Of course, the Ducks are notorious for telling fans Jack s*** but maybe Verbeek will actually give an update as to what is going on with this team tomorrow
  12. Agree. I’d love for this to be BS but after seeing what they offered Terry at arbitration, I worry that it’s not as far off I’d like. It would be such a disgraceful offer
  13. hahaha, tell Brisson you want out and pack your begs Trevor. Wtf Verbeek.
  14. It’s the optics and handling of it that are just stupid
  15. buccigross posted this and I had to chuckle a bit
  16. With Zegras and Drysdale set to miss time in training camp, it’s just painfully ironic that Verbeek overpaid to get Gudas and Killorn because he wanted them to instill good habits and a winning culture in the locker room, then didn’t sign two of the most important players to instill those values into
  17. Yeah, McTavish was just at the angel game also. With Zegras and McTavish not listed then it makes alot of sense to pair carlsson with AK and TT. Might as well give max him reps with those guys while they can. We’ll see how things change once everyone is on the ice.
  18. need to get a training camp thread going probably but McTavish isn’t listed. Hope he’s not hurt already but everyone else including pastujov and Hvidston are there
  19. I don’t think those guys are signing mid-term extensions though when they could likely get 7 years if they wait a year and hit free agency. The fact Calgary was really good in 2022 made losing those two guys hurt that much. Lindholm and Hanafin need new contracts also after this year. Maybe the Ducks could swing it if they are really good on the back of a young core but that’s a massive if.
  20. i agree but I don’t think there’s any chance of such a trade happening. You’d need fantilli and Jiricek to both demand out right after their ELCs. Who was the last legit player to do that? Even Tkachuk did it after his bridge deal. Columbus and any team would move heaven and earth to keep high end young players also. Jarmo and anyone in the front office would get fired in an instant if they were a reason for young star players not wanting to sign also imo. We need Lucas Raymond to get disgruntled in Detroit or something. I don’t know
