Has at least one point in 29 of 33 games this season.

Put him on Line with Z-man and TT Magic levels up by 1000.

Here's my $.02 - which has an actual value of much less:

    1.  The old saying about GM's is that if they listen to fans they are soon sitting with them.

    2.  GMPV could have - possibly, not undoubtably - made a bigger splash last offseason, but I think the addition of Killorn and Gudas and Lyubushkin were fine.  C+, probably a B- if more guys (Drysdale, Zegras, Terry) had pulled their weight early on.  So, he could have shown us more of "who he really is" as a GM last summer, but I'm not all put out that he did not.  This summer?  He better kill it.  Top 6 W, Top 4 RHD, a coach to build a deadly PP.

    3.  I don't expect any GM to be 100% honest and truthful with the media/public/fans at an event like this, an event that is easily viewable by anyone with an internet connection.  Why would you show all your cards to your competitors?  I'm gonna give him a pass on not laying out his complete plan with all his moves and details at this event.  That would be odd.

    4.  I think, from what he has said, his general plan thru this season was to retain and compile assets and prospects, and he has 100% done that.  His only significant move was to trade a kid from depth to get a kid for need, and that was a very good move, imo.  Now, he appears to have the goods and the mindset to start using those assets, both picks and prospects - and NHL roster players, if the deal is good -, to get better at the NHL level, meaning acquiring NHL-proven players.  Again, this summer is make-or-break for him, imo.

Reading the comments by Ducks GMPV its very clear to me he was expecting this....His Patience is unlimited at times compare to several Ducks Fans including Me.

Put a competent team in front of them and they're both a .910 - .915 for me easy.

Shoring up the Ducks Defence Corps with youth and Experince is something we hope it turns out well.

no need to rush him.  he was limping and still in a hard cast this past weekend.  i think i saw crutches in one pic, so he's not stable yet.

what we really need is him to be healthy and working hard over the summer.  weight room, ice time, coach time, that's about it for at least 3 months straight.  and he needs a contentious buddy so that they can keep each other honest.

I agree give Z-man time no need to rush  him just ensure he is ready to hit the ground Running for the Ducks.

I don't think it's that uncommon for rebuilding teams to have a gap between captains. The Rangers went four seasons without a captain during their recent rebuild. Ottawa went three seasons without a captain when they were bottoming out for high draft picks from 2018-2021. The Red Wings went two seasons without a captain from 2018-2020. Arizona is in their third season without a captain. Chicago doesn't have a captain and is likely just waiting for Bedard to be ready for it. I think that a lot of current GMs don't want their captains to wear the stink of bad seasons where the GM is intentionally trying to be bad as part of a rebuild. So in a way, it probably is part of a plan - to wait until the team is really ready to be better so that the captain doesn't end up looking like a chump for leading an awful team.

You feel this is why the Ducks are not naming a Ducks Captain Yet?.....Interesting.

Getzlaf had been mentored by Scott Niedermayer and he spent a year as an alternate captain behind Scotty before becoming captain, and then his alternate captains were Saku Koivu and Teemu Selanne for the first four years of his captaincy. They basically gave him training wheels to figure it out.

The current roster doesn't have anything like what Getzlaf had in place around him.

From way I see it Ducks Rebuilding/Reivival roster seems to be have people within the rank and file trying to strategize like a group...instead of having a Leader...a Ducks Captain which is why I beleive its important for the Ducks to name a Captain whether it be at the Begin or at the Midway point.

this was a fun event as it was last year! Z didn't do any fan interaction stuff (probably 'cause he shouldn't be on the foot for long I imagine)

Met a bunch more of them...Minty, Dostal, and Lacombe really stood out as very friendly and great to talk with. Dostal especially. Leo stayed past a lot of the guys...he made sure he got to talk every fan who wanted to. He was great! it was fun! sad to have missed today's though

Happy to hear Ducks Day event went well....I know it was two day event honoring both Past,Present and Future.

Boston College centre Cutter Gauthier and SKA St. Petersburg defenceman Alexander Nikishin are the top-ranked players on TSN Director of Scouting Craig Button’s top 50 NHL-affiliated prospects list.

Gauthier, who was drafted fifth overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in 2022, made waves when his NHL rights were dealt to the Anaheim Ducks on Jan. 8 in exchange for defenceman Jamie Drysdale and a 2025 second-round pick. It was reported that Gauthier did not intend on signing with the Flyers.

Despite the controversy, Gauthier is enjoying a strong sophomore campaign with Boston College, scoring 26 goals with 43 points through 29 games this season. He also helped the United States capture gold at the World Juniors, taking home Best Forward honours after netting 12 points in seven games.

“I think Gauthier has elite written all over him,” said Button. “He’s a AA prospect. [He] very well could be a Hobey Baker finalist.

“What matters is the type of game he plays. It’s complete, it’s well-rounded. To me, it’s elite skating, hockey sense, puck skills, playmaking ability, scoring ability – all the things that make you elite. He checks elite just right across the board.”

Cannot wait to see Cutter in Ducks Hockey Uni ready to contribute.

I know you joke, but HCGC has said they’ve set internal goals, and I bet having your 1st line winger makes those easier to hit.  Cronin on the 20th win of the year last game.

"Clearly we're out of the playoff picture. We made some goals internally that would reflect some progress for the group. And today was a big one going in that direction."

I am just curious what are the other Goals for the Ducks have in mind during 30th Anniversary Season.

    OK, I'll start.

The Ducks win/loss record is similar to last year so far.  But what kind of wins and losses are they?  I gathered the wins and losses from last season (22-23) and this season (55 games in) and arranged them by goal differential.  Here's my thought process.  Let's say, we lose 50 games in a season, and all of those games we lose by 4 goals.  Then the next season we also lose 50 games, but only by 2 goals.  We would show no improvement in the win/loss column, but losing by 2 goals versus 4 goals would be an improvement.  Is that what we're doing?  Let's see:

    2022-23  Wins - 23  (82 games)                                                  2023-24  Wins - 20  (55 games)

    By 1 goal      2 goals     3 goals     4 goals     4+ goals                By 1 goal     2 goals     3 goals     4 goals     4+ goals

            14             6              3               0                 0                               11           3              4              2                 0

          60.9%       26.1%      13.0%          0%              0%                          55.0%    15.0%       20.0%      10.0%            0%

1 - The Ducks are on track to have more wins this year than last year.  2 - Compared to last year the Ducks are winning less games by 1 or 2 goals and winning more games by 3 and 4 goals.  I'll do the losses next...

Interesting Thank You Belarus.........If you want some comparisons here is comparing the Ducks Record after 56 Games.
