It doesn't make the ducks organization look very good for him to say that publicly. It does show how the players must have been feeling with the lousy coaching staff and lack of coachable direction to help them to "love playing in the playoffs". We fans piddle and moan about how bad it is but the players obviously have their own experiences that they deal with. The new GM is acting like a "real" GM should be acting and actually "doing something". It's hard to imagine how long the ducks did absolutely nothing other than state "we have to get faster" or some such nonsense. I am amazed at what Tampa is able to do with their system of acquiring players. That's a model worth noting.
I hope GMPV shows the entire coaching staff the door and brings in people who can coach/win and for all the rest of the ducks to also "love playing in the playoffs".
I keep in mind that Bruce said BM made the decisions as to who played and how much. I also consider the fact that BM was reportedly difficult to work for. I think Eakins deserves a year with a new GM. Just my opinion.

Really not all that excited for the future. I guess we'll see.

I normally don't put much stock in the Fourth Period (they're almost always wrong about everything), but it was interesting to hear that Rakell has switched agents and that he and Lindholm are both now represented by Claude Lemieux. Those two guys really are attached at the hip. Sad to say, but it seems pretty likely that Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum are both destined to be ex-Ducks within the next few weeks.
Based on Getzlaf's interview with Friedman and Marek a few weeks ago, he sounds like he's likely done after this season too. I think this team is going to look completely different next season. Verbeek is going to have a pretty long shopping list this summer - top-pair D-man, 2C, top-6 RW, head coach, (starting goalie?!?!). Yikes.

I guess I missed something but it was mentioned that Anaheim would be 1 or 2.
