  1. Am I the only one here who wanted Owen Power? I know drafting Ritchie has made us Ducks fans weary of taking a giant teenager who gets by on his superior size to dominate his peers, but this kid can actually skate. I have to admit though, I am not all that familiar with this year's crop of draft hopefuls. Why does everyone think he's going to bust?

  2. Jones would be the best defender we've had since Niedermayer. If I was GMBM I'd be moving heaven and earth to get him in a Ducks sweater. If we can give a skating dumpster like Bieksa 8 million during a cap crunch while the team expected to contend, no reason why this rebuilding team can't shell out big bucks for a franchise altering player.

haha right??? I mean, you look at his last 2 cups...he started the run and then Murray finished it. You think Fleury in net tomorrow? I think they go Lehner...not 'cause I don't think Fleury could bounce back, but I think DeBoer looks at it as "if we lose Game 7 with Fleury in net, I didn't take full advantage of the amazing goaltending depth we have..." you're not using all of your tools. You didn't overreact with a bad game 5...but 2 games in a row now ...this is looking too much like their 2019 flounder and the reason they got Lehner was 'cause they didn't have any goalie depth in 2019 lol

Like, this is basically EXACTLY why they got Lehner!

They alternated between them all year too. I know 1A 1B situations can be tricky come playoff time (hello Freddie/Johnny) but usually that means a much shorter leash when things go sideways. Maybe give your other guy a shot after your goalie gets lit up on like 10 shots in a game your team has dominated. Hard to imagine them moving away from Fleury now though. I'd jokingly ask which Fleury will show up but good Fleury/bad Fleury has a habit of showing up in the same game.

  4. Wow, what a start for Perry! It's hilarious hearing these Sportsnet guys gush about his playoff experience when they spent his prime years talking about how he needs to get whooped. What a difference playing in Canada will make.

  5. This has been a vintage Fleury series. Great start, shaky middle, straight up swimming without a lifejacket these last two starts. Watch him get a 40 save shutout next game just for the hell of it.

  6. Oh man, Vegas' tying goal disallowed and Minnesota scores on the ensuing powerplay. Definitely did not have this series going 7 but kudos to the Wild, especially after they stole game 5 in spite of getting dominated everywhere but the scoreboard.

  7. I'm hoping Montreal can push it to 7 where Tavares can make a healthy return so we can all go back to making jokes about the Islanders being more successful in Toronto's barn during the playoffs than the Leafs. Other than that, I'm all in on the Panthers to complete the comeback.

yeah, i think they were even saying that the florida capacity was 75%.....i don't think they even had 60% attendance once the prior season? lol

Also....can we get the D coach from Winnipeg for next season? WOW!

    This OT has been nuts

I swear if Devin Shore (quite possibly the most generic hockey player to ever wear our sweater) wins this for Edmonton, my remote is going through my television

  9. It's so weird going from Florida looking like their building is as full as it's been since the 90s to Montreal or Winnipeg with their empty seats and artificial crowd noise.

Also, Minnesota looks atrocious. Only 1 shot in the second period it's like watching the Ducks all over again.

  10. Gretzky and Kurri, Messier and Anderson, Sather and incompetence, McDavid and blowing 3 goal leads in the 3rd period of a crucial playoff game.. the Oilers have had some legendary duos over the years.

yeah...there goes my Edmonton sweep of Jets prediction lol....looking back...not sure why I thought that haha

Kadri is only surprising to me 'cause it really seemed like he cleaned up his ways! he was pretty fine last year.

I seriously thought if there was any year for Edmonton to do damage in the playoffs, this would be it. It's not too late but.. yeah lol. Not looking good right now.

Kadri is so frustrating. He's exactly the type of player you'd want down the middle come playoff time. He reminds me of a prime Kesler at times except with no IQ at all. This is the time of the year his team needs him the most, it's mind-boggling how he chooses to respond with this kind of behaviour year in and year out.

  12. Turned on the Carolina game and literally the first thing I see is Josi getting brushed by a stick on the front of his pants and dropping to his knees for the call. Who let this team back into the playoffs?

  13. Hands up if you had the Jets completely shutting down Mario McDavid through 2 or Matt Duchene aka the 8 million dollar a year Derek Grant scoring an OT winner. Kadri getting 8 games might have been the most predictable result from last night.

Seeing the leafs lose is always funny but you don't want to see that. Tavares was out. Sucks for Perry too because many leafs fans think it's intentional but I really can't believe that.

Yeah I've been seeing a lot of these takes today. Apparently Perry can slow down time enough while in full stride to anticipate his friend's head dropping to the level of his surgically repaired knees and he still didn't move out of the way because he's just that dirty.

  15. More Capitals slander cause the Predators legitimately suck to the point where they're not even worth getting worked up over and I need a villain: You'd never see Getzlaf or any other captain publicly chew out a teammate for making a mistake like Ovechkin did last night.. let alone a goalie making his first ever playoff start who was the entire reason the game went to 2OTs to begin with. Smith-Pelly should've been first to lift the Cup in 2018.

  16. Kadri and getting tossed out of the first round is the NHL's most consistent duo at the moment. Not only was that a predatory hit that took out a key player, but St. Louis looked completely outclassed in this series until that hit. Now the Blues have something to rally around going back home. This is exactly why Toronto traded Kadri. I want to say I'm shocked this exact same thing is happening all over again but I'm really not. The guy just doesn't learn.

  17. It's Bruins easy for me. Marchand is a menace but everything about Washington rubs me the wrong way. From their unhinged psycho handing out head trauma every full moon, to their superstar calling out the same league that has pumped his tires endlessly whenever his unhinged psycho of a teammate gets lightly punished, to their d-bag of a coach (who I am SHOCKED ended up in Washington) implying that Wilson unfairly receives more attention for his actions in spite of the fact that he absolutely deserves more attention whenever he plays WWE on ice because of his extensive rap sheet. It's one thing to stick up for a teammate but to foster a culture where he is incapable of doing any wrong at the expense of player safety is just wild to me. Flush that whole organization down the toilet.

  18. James Dolan running his teams into the ground, Rangers in total meltdown firing everyone, Capitals (predictably) continuing to enable their psychopath by painting him as a victim, Parros attending tonight's rematch at MSG.. the NHL has an absolute circus on their hands right now and it could have been so avoidable with just the slightest bit of common sense on their part.
