  1. 16 points in 31 games and +8 so far. Only 2 Ducks, Comtois and Rakell, have more points per game this season (4 games minimum). Granted he probably wouldn't be as productive if he were still on the Ducks, but he's certainly not "washed up," as many Ducks fans seem to think.
  2. That's totally false. Although Perry's goal scoring fell off dramatically, he was still put up a good number of assists until his last season with the Ducks when he was out most of the year with a knee injury. And he still went to the front of the net consistently and helped the Ducks score goals by screening the opposing goalie. No question he wasn't producing to the level of his contract, but that could be said for a lot of Ducks right now. I was against the buyout 2 years ago, primarily because the cap space it bought this season and last season meant absolutely nothing given the abysmal state of the team. Now the Ducks will still have to carry something in the $2-3 million/year for the next 2 years when their cap hit would be over after this season if they hadn't bought him out.
  3. Now more than ever the Ducks should be selling at the trade deadline. GMBM should be trading a veteran for picks and or prospects. If Silfverberg, Henrique, Manson, and Fowler are all still on the roster after the the deadline passes, it will be 100% clear that he has no clue how to handle a rebuild.
  4. I would love to see Getzlaf traded to Montreal and then win a Cup with Perry again. Then resign with the Ducks in the offseason. From the video that was posted, it's clear he cares about the future of the Ducks. So I think being traded to a Cup contender, especially if it's to play with his long time friend and linemate, to get a return in the form of picks and/or prospects that would help the team in the future, would be appealing to him. We will know by sometime tomorrow.
  5. I'm soooo thankful that fans aren't allowed in Anaheim this season. I try to make sure my season seats don't go to waste and many of these games would be exceptionally painful to watch in person.
  6. I like your idea and I don't understand why Heinen has been scratched for 4 consecutive games. There are only 4 other Ducks forwards who have more points per game and he is hardly a defensive liability with a -2 on an awful team. I could possibly see him sitting for 4 straight games when the Ducks had a ton of forward talent 6 years ago, but with this roster??? Give the poor guy a break and let him play!
  7. I'm relieved that Henrique cleared waivers, but am still angry at BM for risking losing an asset for nothing when he could have traded him at the deadline last year for a good haul. Overall I'm angry at BM for not trading away ANY mid-career players for picks, prospects or other young talent since it became obvious that the Ducks were in rebuilding mode over 2 years ago. He traded Montour for a 1st rounder 2 years ago and Kase for a 1st rounder, Ritchie for Heinen, Sprong for Djoos last year. While the Kase move likely has paid off, since he is so injury prone, why are Henrique, Silfverberg, Fowler and Manson ALL still on the roster? I'm not advocating burning down the roster completely, but given the sad state of this team, at least ONE of those guys should have been traded for a significant return by now.
  8. Did the dispute get resolved? I have Dish Network, which hasn't had Prime Ticket or FSW for 18 months now. I was thinking of switching to Frontier since I have internet service with them.
  9. Ducks are now 5-2-1 since the TDL. That’s a 113 point pace. Looks like GMBM did too good of a job improving the team at the TDL and will hurt his chances of getting the high pick he covets!
  10. I noticed that and hate to say that I am actually hoping the Ducks start losing more. Finishing 2nd from the bottom guarantees a top 5 pick, something the Ducks haven’t had since picking Bobby Ryan at #2 overall in 2005. It would also give the Ducks a decent shot at getting the #1 pick for the first time ever.
  11. Regarding the signing of Niedermayer and the trading for Pronger, BM said he would be willing to make similar moves in the future when he felt the Ducks were a Cup contender again. He mentioned Edmonton and Pittsburgh as teams that “went to the bottom” for 5+ years to rebuild, something he doesn’t want to do. He also said that he hopes NR will become a player that works hard on and off the ice consistently. Other than that I have nothing to add that others, and mostly you have already said. Unless you were taking notes or recorded the session, you have an incredible memory! I have a much higher opinion of GMBM after attending the event and feel bad for what I said about him at the TDL. I also got the chance to meet Hazy, which was something I have wanted to do for a long time. I saw him play goalie at Cornell when I was a freshman there (a loooong time ago).
  12. For the first time this season I can’t sell my tickets even at minimum price. Being out of the playoffs is bad enough, but a 7 PM Sunday night game adds insult to injury.
  13. I haven’t had a problem selling my Section 433 tickets this season. Last year I also had a pair of tickets in 432 Row A. I couldn’t sell those after the team hit the skids and fell out of playoff contention, so I didn’t keep them. I will hold onto my 433 seats. I’ve been a STH for 4 years and I want to build seniority so I can eventually get even better seats at Select a Seat. Next year the Ducks aren’t raising ticket prices and are giving a needed 10% discount on food. It also doesn’t hurt that my new rep is cute.
  14. It was about the same time last season.
  15. Didn’t he score 34 or so goals last year? And hasn’t Thornton centered the Sharks’ 1st or 2nd lines for several years at 35 and older?
  16. If he plays well, I guarantee they will like him.
  17. I knew buying out Perry wasn’t going to free up a roster spot. And the fact that he traded a draft pick for a LW instead of a RW is irrelevant. Wingers are interchangeable, as I noted earlier in this thread. So I ask again, since the Ducks aren’t serious Cup contenders in the next 2 years, what advantage have the Ducks gained by buying out Perry? They will now have an unnecessary cap hit in 21-22 and 22-23.
  18. You can move a RW to LW without a huge impact. I should have said winger instead of forward, but other than that my statement is entirely true. And I will be surprised if BM doesn’t sign a winger free agent this off season.
  19. Probably, given BM’s history. And if he signs even just one dumpster free agent forward with this cap space he has freed up, getting rid of Perry hasn’t opened up any room for our young players. I’m glad I only renewed my cheap season tickets for this season and dumped the expensive ones...
  20. From a cap hit perspective, this makes no sense at all. Perry’s contract is over in 2 years. It’s highly unlikely the Ducks are going to be Cup contenders in the next 2 years, and now with the buyout the cap hit will extend 2 more years, albeit at a lower amount. I wish Perry the best. I thought the chance of him returning to his former form was low, but still hoped he would and score 25+ goals again. Now the hope is gone. This is a sad day.
