  1. All the games Toronto have won in this series have been by one goal.  All of Boston's wins are by more than one.  Therefore, in my highly inaccurate way of predicting, I predict Boston will win game seven by a score of 3-1.

The favorite teams in Canada are Montreal and Edmonton? Sorry but Toronto has more fans here then either of them and Vancouver/Calgary fan base would be similar to Edmonton.

Well, good point.  Let me rephrase.  The Canadian teams with the most Stanley Cups since black and white TV are Montreal and Edmonton.

You believe the lottery is rigged? If that's the case then why did the NHL put McDavid in Edmonton.

(For the sake of argument here, let's say the lottery IS rigged.)

The powers at be were having a confab...  "You know, I just can't believe that Canada hasn't won a Stanley Cup since 1993.  This is a TRAVESTY.  What shall we do?"  "I know, let's let a Canadian team win the lottery a few times.  That'll do it!"  "But who?"  "Well, the favorite teams in Canada are Montreal and Edmonton.  Montreal won it last.  Let's give Edmonton a turn.  It'll be like old times - Gretzky, Kurri, Messier.  Whadaya think?"  "Sounds good boss, let's do it!"

Fast forward a few years...  "Gentlemen, we're in a quandry.  One of our original six teams is losing both Toews AND Kane."  "Oh no, what will we do?"  "I know, lets have Chicago win the lottery a few times.  That ought to do it."  "Sounds good boss, let's do it!"

Henry and Susan hate people who eat hot dogs.   Why are the prices of hot dogs so gosh darn high ?   Obviously they hate Glizzy Guzzlers.   Why don’t they have bacon wrapped hot dogs ?   Obviously they hate people who enjoy street dogs.   Why are cops at the games ?   Obviously to try and make the street vendors afraid and leave before serving delicious street dogs !!!!   Boycott Ducks Hockey until Henry and Susan apologize for hating Hot Dog Eaters!

THANKS PIL!!!  Now I'm hungry for a hot dog...  🤬

  5. That was a cool video!  I didn't know that's how they get rid of the ice.  A channel that they push the water into - neato!  BTW, most non-hockey people are surprised to find out that the ice is only about 3/4 inch thick.  (About 19mm for our metric friends...)

    Why do you think that?

Saw him in a video a while back giving out an after-game award to another Duck teammate, you know, the hockey equivalent of the "game ball."  He seemed confident, well poised in mannerisms.  I heard he has a good workout ethic.  I dunno, just a sixth sense.  Seems like he might lead by example.  Too early to tell.

  7. Not sure if I should start ANOTHER playoff thread, but here goes.  Thought this article from NHL.com would be a good post to start:

"2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs rooting guide for fans of eliminated teams" (NHL.com)

  8. "The Arizona franchise would be inactive, and owner Alex Meruelo would have the right to reactivate it if he built a new NHL arena within five years."  (NHL.com)

I personally don't think he's going to get a new arena built.

  9. Well, here we are.  The end of the Duck's 30th Anniversary Season.  At the beginning of this 30th Anniversary Season I had hopes of a better year than 22-23.  However, this 30th Anniversary Season was to be a bit disappointing, and the Ducks didn't meet the lofty expectations of this 30th Anniversary Season.  However, as the long hockey-less summer months pass, let us remember this 30th Anniversary Season with fondness and the conversations we all shared during this 30th Anniversary Season.  Some of us were happy with our 30th Anniversary Season, but most of us were unhappy with our 30th Anniversary Season.  Our 30th Anniversary Season should have been more like, you know, a better 30th Anniversary Season.  So here's to the hope that next season will be better than this 30th Anniversary Season, and this 30th Anniversary Season will be remembered as the season that pushed the Ducks to greatness.  As the years pass and we grow mellow with age, we'll smile at the memories of this 30th Anniversary Season, but also realize with a sense of wistfulness that we'll never have a 30th Anniversary Season again.  But the days are coming when our children and grandchildren will sit on our knee and ask, "What was it like to watch the Ducks in their 30th Anniversary Season?"  And we'll delight them with stories of Fowler, Gibson, Johnston and other legends of the 30th Anniversary Season.  So, farewell 30th Anniversary Season, and thank you for making 23-24 the best 30th Anniversary Season ever!

Players and coaches have zero incentive to tank. Zero

If it gets you a so-called "generational" player like Bedard, there's plenty of incentive to tank.  There's not much tanking incentive to move from, let's say, 5th overall pick to 4th overall pick.

  11. I meant it in a good-natured way, Moose.  Was actually poking fun at Sask!  🤪

You keep posting just the way you've been posting.  The board wouldn't be the same without you!

  12. Let's bring this up again.  If in one season a team has 50 losses and all of those losses are by 3 goals, but the next season the team also has 50 losses but those losses are by 2 goals, it's an improvement even though the number of losses are the same.  There's more than one way to measure improvement.
