It's called "paternity leave". I'm sure you are aiming to insult him...
Not necessarily. DRD may not know the difference... 😏
BTW, assuming Gibson was there assisting the birth, do you think he caught the baby with his glove or deflected it away with his blocker? 😛

I don't understand why we can not go and get someone like Phil Kessel...
We could. But we'd first have to change our powerplay sponsor from JMG to Geritol...

Let’s at least try leaving the last winner in net until he is the next loser.
ANA 1 - NYR 5. He's off to a good start...

Given the choice I'd rather move him along and start WINNING with someone else, but hey, that's just me...

If they DID do the trade then Gibson would go to New Jersey and wear a new jersey. Bu-dum-pum...

Sigh. It'll be nice to get Drysdale, Lundestrom, McTavish and Zegras back someday...

I would trade 3 zebras for that.
Why not all four? Wait. Are we talking about the zebras who skate around, blow their whistles, get hit by pucks/players and occasionally look at their iPads, or the zebras that have four legs and look like horses? 'Cause, you know, either way I'd trade that for a proven F or D as well. Well, unless we're actually talking about capital letters instead of hockey players. Then I wouldn't bother...

"It's only a matter of time until we see Gibby do this."
OK. Four points here:
1 - Gibby would be in violation of NHL rule 27.7
2 - Troy Terry would have to join AA.
3 - Sask would say, "If Verbeek wasn't so stupid Gibby would've got a hat trick."
4 - FS93 would be taken to the hospital and we would never hear from him ever again.

What, Olive insurance? Really? Oh wait, you meant Zegras actually PLAYING!..

🤪 Well, if Vrana's GAA and SV% are good, then I'm on board! 🤪

Just for fun and giggles, if we DID pick up Vrana...
1 - Who would he replace in the lineup?
2 - What would happen to the "replaced" player?

I must be, yes. You're right.
Given that I'm "lucking" hockey knowledge, I think I'm just going to take my leave of this place. I know that I've contributed plenty to negativity here in the past, so perhaps I'm part of the problem. But in a season where the team is clearly better, where young players are progressing, and where there are new things to be excited about, the pessimism here is a bummer to me. I'm not really interested in engaging with it any more.
Hopefully I'll catch everyone sooner rather than later.
I’m about there with ya.
Too many emotionally charged takes, too many responses that are not based in reality, too many knee-jerk reactions.
It’s fun to get on here and discuss our team, but sometimes it becomes tiresome.
Ahh, don't worry. When the Ducks get on a nice winning streak there'll be nothing but the sound of crickets where the "glass-half-empty" crowd used to be. Happens every time.

On the other side, the Ducks major downturn started when Verbeek took over as GM. Odd coincidence.
Uhh, no. I'll respectfully disagree. The Ducks downturn started YEARS ago. And Verbeek's arrival coincided with the Ducks tanking the season (unofficially, of course...) to get a high draft pick. Will Verbeek turn the team around? We'll see...

I just became aware of an interesting stat. With Arizona's win yesterday, for the first time in NHL history a team has beat the previous five Stanley Cup winners in consecutive games. 👍
Dec 4 --- ARI 6, WSH 0
Dec 2 --- ARI 4, STL 1
Nov 30 - ARI 4, COL 3 (OT)
Nov 28 - ARI 3, TBL 1
Nov 25 - ARI 2, VGK 0

Guy Herbert called the new jersey eggplant

OK, but WHY does Guy call it Eggplant? Is that the official name for it? Did Guy one day think to himself, "Say, this jersey looks like an eggplant"? Did an onery Kings player say during a game, "Hey, you guys look like eggplants on skates!"? Not trying to prove anybody wrong here, but there seems to be so little information. Maybe someone should ask Guy at one of the games! 😀

From the Gameday thread in question:
"Just out of curiosity, I dug out my old 2001-02 Ducks media guide. It claims the team colors are (were):
Purple (PMS 518C), Jade (PMS 329C), Silver (PMS 429C) and White."

Thought I'd add a thread to put all of our Ducks uniform questions and opinions. I'll start...
I've been intrigued lately by a recent discussion of whether or not the Ducks original uniforms were "Eggplant" or "Plum," I've heard the color "Eggplant" used for years, and many websites call it "Eggplant." However, I did a frustratingly "fruitless" (see what I did there) internet search and could find nothing from the NHL or the Ducks officially actually calling it "Eggplant." So my question is, how did the uniform GET the name of "Eggplant" in the first place?

In the absence of facts, all you have is speculation.
True. But where the problem lies is when people confuse speculation with fact until, in some peoples eyes, the speculation BECOMES fact.
4 hours ago, HockeyIzCool said:...they'd rather let people speculate, and throw out theories, in an effort to learn the truth.
How does one "learn the truth" by speculating and throwing out theories?
--- From your previous post ---
"...in the absence of a definitive statement as to what happened, people are making their own stuff up."
(Uhh, that's an understatement...)
--- Also ---
"I tend to lean towards there being some truth to the rumor about him hooking up with Chelios' daughter."
"There is a tangent to the rumor saying that she was pregnant, and had gone for an abortion during the road trip."
"Maybe he got drunk and hooked up with her at the event?"
(Just an example of what YOU are saying, let alone what others are making up...)
--- And finally ---
"Serves Perry and the Blackhawks right."
(How does any of this serve Perry and the Blackhawks right? The last I heard, people have a right to privacy)
Like I said, almost as bad as TMZ....
