  1. Next person to post about Theo gets a 4 million dollar raise and a NMC from Murray
  2. Can't imagine this being the final 4 the league had in mind when they restarted the season.
  3. I'm happy for Perry but man oh man, all these years later and that Dallas goal song still makes me want to rip my ears off every time it plays.
  4. 30 seconds of action more wild than the last 20 years of Minnesota hockey wow
  5. Maybe it's simply my lack of attachment to any of the remaining teams but I keep forgetting hockey is on to the point where I haven't sat through an entire game in this second round. It doesn't help that the Rogers guide on my TV has this game listed as "Stanley Cup Playoffs Rewind" instead of "Stars Avalanche Game 7". Basically every game has been labeled incorrectly since this round started. I can't wait for the Stanley Cup Final to be listed as "Top 50 Bloopers".
  6. I missed yesterday's games and thought my phone was broken when that 7-1 score kept showing up again with all the other scores. Took me a minute to realize the Arizona Coyotes were the only broken thing here and they really just lost back to back playoff games 7-1.
  7. It's not so much the fact that we lost him that bothers me. Considering where the team was that summer (fresh off a conference finals appearance, ideally going for one or two more runs at a title with this core) it honestly was one of the better expansion draft outcomes possible. It's the fact that Theo's departure was a direct result of that unearned and downright insane Kevin Bieksa extension that's upsetting. Still one of the worst moves Murray has made and it's even more ridiculous in hindsight seeing as how Bieska was basically brought in to replace Wisniewski, another huge mistake that never should have happened dating back to 2010 when his brainless play style stressed out Scott Niedermayer into an early retirement.
  8. It's so weird hearing NHL analysts talk about Corey Perry for his veteran leadership and winning experience instead of angrily foaming at the mouth over his mere existence and openly wishing someone would end his career. Funny what a change of uniform can do for you.
  9. So Kevin Bieksa is an analyst on Sportsnet now and he brought up how he played with someone who blew out his knee during pregame hackey-sack. He said he wasn't going to expose the guy's name but mentioned how he's currently in the playoff bubble.. Any guesses who he's talking about? Cause our team has been so cursed with injuries over the last couple of years I'm drawing a blank. Perry?
  10. Imagine being on Boston or Carolina right now. Hockey players love going through their pre-game routines and now they gotta be ready for 11 in the morning after all the preparation they did for tonight. I mean they're professionals so it's probably not a big deal to them but I'd be so annoyed. It is pretty neat how fluid the schedule is now though. Adds another wrinkle teams might have to prepare for. Vancouver and Dallas are still here so I'm looking forward to seeing how late/early in the morning a game can end in the bubble.
  11. Last time I checked, Tampa had 180+ shot attempts. John Gibson calls that an average Wednesday night of work in Anaheim
  12. I was legitimately just wondering how they would handle a marathon OT game under the circumstances like 3 hours ago and Tampa Bay vs. Columbus is still on. Nice one. J.S. Korpisalo is about to set a playoff saves record and Seth Jones has skated almost an entire regulation hockey game in minutes. I wanna see them go far.
  13. I was rooting for literally anyone but the mustard cats. This whole lottery process stunk from the beginning.
  14. Ehh, first round matchups don't look all that intriguing on the surface. Dallas vs. Calgary is most likely going to be the annual first round gongshow series. Boston vs. Carolina should be good too I guess. I'd say the same for New York vs. Washington but I'm already picturing Islander players getting sent to the hospital after receiving leaping elbows to the head and being unable to rejoin the team in time for a critical game because of quarantine requirements.
  15. Leafs giving me serious game 7 Ducks vibes right now. Starring John Tavares as Ryan Kesler with the 500 A+ chances he's had so far but couldn't get past a Finnish goalie playing over his head/the post
  16. The more I think about it, the more I like it. The thought of Gibson in an Oilers sweater is a little gross. Still, Mike Smith (surprisingly?) wasn't the problem in Edmonton so I'm not too worried on that end. I'd want to take Byfield with the #1 pick over Lafreniere though. The guy has Nextlaf written all over him even if the immediate payoff wouldn't be the same. Not the biggest deal since this team would be borderline unwatchable without Gibson for the next couple of seasons the same way they would've been since 2017-18.
  17. Blue Jackets just went full game 5 Oilers. Unreal especially since Toronto basically had a 3 stooges moment in front of the empty net.
  18. That Seth Jones trade just keeps looking worse year after year and I love it
  19. He's been straight up trash in the playoffs against every team that isn't located in Anaheim for a while now
  20. It's still absolutely bogus that losing playoff teams were even allowed to be represented in a draft lottery with that placeholder spot, let alone given a shot to end up with the first selection.
  21. I know I should be glad hockey is back but Coyotes vs. Predaturds was legitimately the worst playoff series I have ever watched the first time it happened back in 2012 and I don't think I can put myself through that again
  22. I feel like whoever gets out of the play-in round will go far simply because they had more time to build a rhythm. Sort of like how the Devils went 7 against the Senators in 2003 and then lit up a Mighty Ducks team that had a lengthy break for embarrassing the Wild in 4. Sign me on for Canadiens 2020.
  23. The name is kind of silly but I like it. Doesn't take itself too seriously and also doesn't try way too hard to sound fierce like basically every new team from 1998 on. The logo is clean too. Could've used less of that modern style graphic design shading every new sports logo is hampered with but at least it's mostly 2D like a good hockey crest should be and doesn't try to jump off the sweater. The colours suck though. Navy blue almost always looks extremely drab on ice and there's already a solid chunk of the league wearing that shade. Seattle is a green city, I have no idea why they didn't run with that. The lighter surf blue or whatever they call that shade is cool though. Overall the uniforms just look like the early 2000s Naslund/Bertuzzi Canucks which is kind of disappointing considering where they could've taken it.
  24. Taylor Hall is like the anti-Messier. He'll captain your team straight to a lottery win.
  25. Toronto, Chicago, Montreal and New York are all in the mix for 1st overall now. I don't gamble much but I'd feel pretty comfortable placing a bet that one of those teams ends up winning it.
