Regardless, you must admit that it could not appear any more suspicious than it did. The Only 2 teams to drop were Anaheim & Columbus, like people jokingly said in advance would happen. And the Only team to rise, was Chicago, who not only jumped 1 spot, but 2, just like people jokingly said in advance would happen.
Coincidence or not, the end result couldn't have gone much better for the league than it did. If they had scripted it, the league wouldn't have wanted Bedard ending up in a secondary market like Anaheim, or a third string market like Columbus. He ended up in the prime market of Chicago.
Silly me, but I can't wrap my head around the fact that if Chicago had finished last, and the Ducks 3rd to last, that we would have got the 1st pick.
Strange coincidence that whenever a Generational player comes along, they end up in the market where it will benefit the NHL most. IF the league was to rig the outcome, and I'm not saying that they did (though I have my doubts,) you can be 100% certain that they would cover every single track, because of what was at stake. There couldn't be the slightest bit of evidence of wrongdoing for such a conspiracy to succeed.
