  1. Well, lookee at that. Chicago is a possibility.
  2. No, but he will be expected to make an impact. McDavid only played 45 games in his 1st season, due to injury, but ended up with 48 points. In his 2nd season, he helped Edmonton end a 10 year Playoff drought. Ducks currently stand at 5.
  3. Wow, it's got to be extremely rare for a team to trade the #1 overall pick during his 1st season.
  4. I'm so nervous that I'm probably not going to watch past Pick #5. I'll record it, and come look at this board later in the evening, and hope to see good news and happy posts.
  5. I'm thrilled that the Ducks are going to be guaranteed a Top 3 pick. But Bedard is legit seen to be a Franchise player. We're going to get a quality player, no doubt. But this guy would bring a true buzz of excitement surrounding the Ducks organization for years to come. For perhaps the first time in 15 years, other teams and fans would mark their calendars knowing that the Ducks were coming to town, and folks would want to see this likely phenom in action. And he would be wearing a Ducks uniform for years to come. He's a game changer, and we possess at least twice the chance of landing him as any other team in the lottery. Based on what I've seen, I wouldn't hesitate to pick up a Bedard jersey before the ink has dried on his initial contract.
  6. Bedard could conceivably go to any team in the Top 11, but honestly, any questions about legitimacy would be minimized if he ends up in Anaheim or Columbus. Then there are several teams where it would look mighty suspicious if they end up with him. We shall see soon enough.
  7. Chad Kilger at #4 was also a clusterf&*k. But again, he got us Teemu.
  8. Oh yeah, how could I forget. Total disaster he ended up being. At least Oleg got us Teemu.
  9. Are the highest previous Entry Draft picks for the Ducks, #4 Kariya and #3 McTavish?
  10. When the positioning is being announced, shouldn't we be hoping that one of the 12-16 teams moves up 10 spots in their position, since that would be an indication that they possibly drew the #1 pick, but couldn't move up that high, and the Ducks would end up getting their #1 spot? I realize it's no guarantee, since #16 could draw #4, and only move up to #6, which would be of no benefit to the Ducks, but it's certainly hopeful, since 8% of the Ducks' chances are tied into those 5 teams.
  11. Boston - 135 Points Toronto - 111 Points Florida - 92 Points (Least Of Any Playoff Team)
  12. The Kings announcers sound kind of deflated in the post game show. So now they get 3 full days off? Great scheduling by the league. Edmonton's momentum surely will dissipate by then. I still could see them pulling out Game 6 and bringing it back to Edmonton.
  13. Oilers really would been a world of hurt if they had to win 3 in a row. Now an upcoming crucial Game 5.
  14. It's viewed as a positive for Edmonton, because they would have been in a world of hurt going to L.A. down 2-0. I don't know what the statistic is, but I remember hearing it back in the years when the Ducks were in the Playoffs and lost the first two games at home. It's all but a death sentence, generally. Losing the first two games is statistically bad enough. Losing them at home is pretty catastrophic.
  15. President's Trophy winner Boston loses home ice advantage, and the Oilers get a much needed win to even up the series going to L.A. Dallas ties up their series, and Carolina goes up 2-0 with an OT win, but lose Teravainen for at least the rest of the series with a broken hand after a slash.
  16. Sometimes I wonder why Canadians still bother supporting the NHL. Fun fact, the last time a Canadian team won the Stanley Cup, the Mighty Ducks did not even have their 1st roster. And Guy Hebert had a full head of hair. Surely they can manage to get 1 team out of the 1st round. Winnipeg just did it's part.
  17. You can speak for me. It says a lot when you're the ONLY player in the entire league who refuses to get vaccinated. Whatever BS excuses he had were lame and pathetic then and they're lame and pathetic now. FREEDUMB just means you're a selfish prick, who couldn't care less about others.
  18. The actual ping pong draw is Always held behind closed doors. But I'm assuming that all of the GM's are able to be present. At least I hope so, otherwise it would certainly lead to suspicion.
  19. Yeah, I get it. And obviously he doesn't want to make it appear in any way that we tried to tank, which we didn't. On the other hand, of course he's not celebrating the disaster of a season. And that really wasn't the question being asked. The two go together, but they're also mutually exclusive. A little enthusiasm would be nice. He very well may be saving it until we actually pick whomever he's targeting. Clearly there's 4 or 5 max players on that short list, and May 8 will narrow that down even more. Now that I think about it, I'm sure he'll be all smiles and voicing optimism when he's possibly standing next to the pick on Draft Day. At least I hope so. I suppose it doesn't really matter. Brian Burke was not the must exuberant GM, and he got us a Cup.
  20. Is the reason there’s hesitancy about Michkov, because there’s uncertainty about how many years it will be until he comes to the NHL, or if he perhaps never will? Would he be the clear #2 if he said he would be ready to play here in September 2023?
  21. So is that PR? Is he supposed to be stoic about being guaranteed one of the top 3 picks in what’s considered to be a good draft year? If we end up with the #1 and someone asks him if he’s excited, will he say he isn’t? Way to rally the fans. I guess I won’t get too excited either then Pat.
  22. If we get fortunate enough to pick Connor Bedard, and win the Cup in the next 5 or so years, he may well be remembered in hindsight as one of the best coaches we've ever had. A direct result being that most agree the Ducks would likely have had at least 10 points more with a different coach, and thus, very little chance at picking first.
  23. Fisix said he saw 29 Year Quinnipiac Head Coach Rand Pecknold in the loft the other night.
  24. Pittsburgh is in the Eastern time zone. Jumping the gun a bit getting all over the Ducks before 9 AM. They took care of it pretty quickly IMO. He probably knew back in November that there was a 95% chance this was going to happen, when it took 20 games to win 1st game in Regulation. Of course, he held out hope for a miracle. Kind of like anybody who in January thought the Ducks might still qualify for the Playoffs. Aside from actually being a good coach, he said all the right things, up until the end. Let's hope Ownership has learned from this mistake that Many of us saw coming 4 years ago, and they put some money behind getting a reputable Coach to take over. If a generational player like Bedard lands in our laps, we don't want to screw it up.
