  1. There's a lot of doom and gloom here about the defense but I really don't think they have been all that bad. They have looked leaps and bounds better than last season (although that wouldn't be hard). Guhle looks like a stud in the making. Manson/Lindholm have been inconsistent at times but I think they've both been a lot more responsible in the defensive zone than they were last year. Fowler is Fowler, he does some great things with the puck but for every 3 or 4 good moves he throws in a boneheaded play. Del Zotto is good for a 6th guy. I know there's a worry about the kids growing in a losing environment but I also don't think it would be smart to make a trade for a defenseman now when this team really isn't a contender - they're a borderline playoff team at best and adding another defenseman isn't going to significantly change that.
  2. If this is the reason then count me in. If he has just lost his love for the game then that would worry me, as I would think his head wouldn't be in it even if he decided to play. Although Ryan O'Reilly said he lost his love for the game in Buffalo and a change of scenery worked out well for him. I don't think there has been talk of Buff not getting on with teammates in the past, so it could be because of some specific incident that occurred in Winnipeg. It doesn't mean there would be issues on a new team.
  3. There seem to be a lot of ref haters online trying to justify this, saying he was just trying to get back to the bench or back into the play or whatever. To me Kane was CLEARLY trying to get back to the guy that he was just tangled up with. The linesman is trying to prevent that, and considering the entire game was a gong show I don't blame him. Kane is classless.
  4. If he actually said that, he should pack his sh*t. He won't be playing another game in Winnipeg. If a Duck said something like that Murray would jettison him to Siberia.
  5. Perry has a fracture in his foot, will miss 2 weeks. He may not start opening night which means he wouldn't play his 1000th game against Anaheim which is kinda sad.
  6. I assume you mean he 'retires' but goes on LTIR. Because if he actually retires he would forfeit the money from his contract. Which will never happen.
  7. He might be hoping the Ducks buy out his contract so he can sign with a team like Washington or San Jose for league minimum and take one last stab at a Cup. The article does seem to indicate that 1000 games was the goal and this has been reached now, perhaps he feels he is done. Frees up enough space for BM to go after Karlsson? Lol. Probably more like a 36 year old Jason Spezza.
  8. I actually think Kesler has been somewhat unlucky with his scoring because it's not as though he's generating absolutely nothing....he's obviously less effective than before the injury but I feel like he should have more than 6 points. But I could say the same about half of the team. The Henrique/Kase/Ritchie line seems to generate 3-4 grade A chances every game but barely converts any of them.
  9. I would really love for Ovi to break the record but I don't think it happens.
  10. This. 50 goals a season for the next 8 years? Do-able but unlikely. There will be an inevitable slow down due to age, injuries etc.
