  1. Scratch that, 3 goals in 2 games.
  2. Oh Bobby, you've done it again! 3 goals in 4 games now for him.

    Lineups:

I like putting Comtois with Getzlaf as Getzy needs some goal scorers on his wings. I don't know about Welinski though, I would rather given Curran a go.

    Lineups:

Hutton is currently going through Covid protocols so it is not clear when he will be available to play. Also hopefully they managed to wash the Kings stink off of him.
  5. Based on the rest of his time in the league I think he will be fine. At least we have Dostal in the pipeline as well.
  6. It looks like he has bulked up more since the summer too. Suzuki is gonna be good for them for a long time.
  7. I'm fully behind starting Zegras on the wing so that he doesn't have to worry about defensive responsibilities as much while he gets up to speed. Also one makes faceoffs one less thing to worry about for now.
  8. 2 seasons ago Gibby had a .917 save percentage. League average was .910. He was still an above average goaltender on a bad team. Last season he was below average. But I think we are talking about a guy that has had one down season. I fully expect him to be better this year than he was last year.
  9. They're terrible. Subban might be the worst starting goalie in the league. I could easily see Chicago finish last this season.
  10. Getzlaf is $8.25M and which will likely get closer to $5M next season assuming we re-sign him. Next season looks much brighter cap-wise. This is part of why I was assuming that Kesler will go on LTIR the day after our first game. Anaheim can add Hutton and others to the cap and use the LTIR relief - but like dts said they would want to maximise that right? So it would have to be more than just Hutton getting added to the roster.
  11. Kesler will go on LTIR from tomorrow though, right? Edit: Or from the day after their first game? I am not sure exactly what the new rule is that the NHL is enforcing.
  12. It was reported yesterday that Zegras has been sent down to the AHL. It is strange that he is still listed on the website though as they are usually pretty quick to update that.
  13. Re: Zegras being sent down. The team probably wants to give him a chance to go through a full pro training camp, get his feet under him a little bit before making his NHL debut. I'm sure we will see him at some point this year.
  14. Was Kesler talking about his first partial season in the league, or first full season? Because Linden was still a 3rd line player in Kesler's first season. Kesler played 28 games, but Linden played 82 games and had 36 points. If he was talking about his first full season after the lockout then yeah, Linden was bad. I do think Zegras is a little cocky though, playing with a hard nosed guy like Backes probably isn't a bad thing in that sense.
  15. I don't think we will finish 30th. How they have us below Chicago when they have about 1/4 of their team on IR and Subban starting in net is beyond me. But yeah, Anaheim wont be good.
  16. I'm with you. The build up to this season has been almost non-existent from the Ducks. I was reading somewhere (can't remember where) that it could be down to Eakins as he likes to have a closed camp, so maybe he isn't allowing much access for our social media teams etc. But other teams have been live streaming scrimmages. There really is no reason Anaheim couldn't be doing the same thing. We are 2 days away from opening night and it doesn't really feel like we are close to the season due to the lack of build up. I'm not sure how that benefits the franchise.
  17. Sorry but I don't want Backes anywhere near the 3rd line. He's a borderline 4th line talent at this stage of his career. I do agree that the lines will probably get mixed up again before opening night. I'm not sure that putting Zegras with Backes is really giving him the best chance to succeed.
  18. People that don't understand how waivers/salary cap/taxi squad works this season. I got a similar message from a friend of mine. I basically said the guy is about 3 months removed from scoring an OT goal in the Stanley Cup Finals, doesn't really sound washed up to me. He probably won't score more than 20 points this season but the guy has achieved far more than any of these internet warriors ever will.
  19. Too bad the young defensemen actually panning out are the ones Murray is trading away. I fully expect Murray to pick up somebody from Detroit from waivers just to teach them a lesson for picking up Djoos. Filppula incoming.
  20. Well F me. That Pettersson trade was bad at the time and looks even worse now.
  21. This happens at the start of the season, every team will dump a bunch of guys through waivers that they would prefer not to lose. 99% of them will clear. There aren't usually a lot of waiver claims at this time of the season. I think before last season there were like 2 waiver claims and there were probably like 200 guys sent through waivers.
  22. He does come across as arrogant, not only because of these quotes. However, he has the talent. Attitude can be fixed. I'm sure he's going to learn a few things from Getzy.
  23. Vegas streamed their scimmage today. Anaheim should really look at doing the same thing (all teams should IMO). It really wouldn't cost them that much to have their media team set something up. It doesn't have to be a pro quality broadcast.
  24. I think they probably let Murray stay through the expansion draft. His contract is until 2022 - he may just see that out and then Madden takes over. In any case I doubt he gets extended beyond 2022.
  25. Fire Murray into the sun before he gets rid of any of them. I'm just imagining Steel going to another team and immediately scoring 50 points.
