  1. you want at the end of your career start a rebuild where you know that you aren't there anymore when the team starts to have success? especially after you were so shortly before the cup a couple years ago... I understand him, that he wants the retool and not the rebuild at his age.
  2. hmm Steel as a Seattle? its a possibilty... I don't know who we will protect, the issue is, BM is 67 years old in a half year, would he really like to make a rebuild? he will not be there by the team after the rebuild is done. thats maybe also the reason he's not really on a real rebuild and only retool mode... thats maybe our problem, for a rebuild you should have a younger GM, thats the real issue... would you love to take a rebuild in his age? Dorion is 48, Yzerman 55, Kekalainen 54, Gorton 52... they are all 10-20 years younger who takes the rebuild with their team..
  3. Lundestrom and Steel not deserved a raise. Jones and especially Comtois as our top scorer deserved. Monday I am frustrated about the deadline, but now I see it a little different. its a weak draft class, 2022 is one to take focus, should be a strong draft year, and after the first 5-10 its a lottery with lack of scouting because a lot not played this season. If Murray makes a good Seattle deal and offseason work (re/-sign players, trade drat picks 2022), then its okay. but no later then next deadline he must made some trades! if not, I can't understand it.
  4. yes, Comtois I forgot. but Volkov now also in the mix... I would protect Rakell, Henrique, Jones, Terry, and then 3 of Volkov, Silfverberg, Steel, Lundestrom. Milano and Heinen will not go protected. Silfy for me isn't long term, but he has some trade value, same Henrique and Rakell. the D is much more difficult with unprotected Shatt, Mahura, Fleury...
  5. Mantha < Rakell 9 forwards and 5 defender I would protect. D after we protect Manson, Fowler and Lindholm we lose Mahura or Shatt (or Fleury if he turns to a good one, not forget, he is a 7th overall). and Fw we have 9 (you can choose 7... Heinen, Henrique, Silfverberg, Rakell, Terry, Comtois, Steel, Lundestrom, Milano)
  6. Imagine what Rakell would gave us... frustrating. the 2 moves were okay, but not enough in a rebuild!
  7. after ED is too late, we have 9 Fs and 5 Ds to protect... I said it before: every player of this 14 players (and over 23 y old) get traded I am happy.
  8. its frustrating... I hoped we will at least trade one "core players"... not even Deslauriers is gone...
  9. good point. but I hoped we can ship some must protect players away... we still have 1-2 D and 2 F too many
  10. in a normal year its a good trade, but we have ED Seattle in the house....
  11. 6th rounder... nice now we have 5-6 defender to protect... stupid move
  12. but an other player we must protect... no one protectable player left:(
  13. look at Foligno, Toronto has only 1,3 mio, if a 3th team is involved, you can retain 75%.... https://www.capfriendly.com/retained-salary-transactions
  14. he wants stay near by Anaheim because family.... only team is Vegas... SJ and LA aren't in Playoff race and not buyers...
  15. Vegas doesn't have the ED Seattle issue... wth?!
  16. the older GMs like BM also you think? if I am GM and go to bed, I would set 4 or 5 alarm clocks for 6am or so...
  17. its also not fair, in California you have 3 hours less time today and must trade shortly after wake up this morning.... but I believe we will trade only Deslauriers, if Pitts still needs him because the Carter trade....
  18. better you take a second instead of nothing this offseason. the CBJ trades are overpaid, good for CBJ.. almost every team exept Ducks already made a deadline deal... its THAT year to trade away your player because ED Seattle!!! what are you waiting for?! our BM will make no worthy deal this season. oh I forgot, we made our big trade with Volkov, next season comes the playoffs *ironieoff*
  19. the salary cap makes trades very difficult.. almost the whole league is over or almost done with Salary Cap, why all teams do this, even not contender teams?!... they should every player cut 10% of the salary, so you also have help because the Covid BS for the teams and you can trade again... no surprise we see almost only AHL moves..
  20. but we have to protect him if we not want the risk to lose him... Morand isn't to protect. in fact of that and in fact it would be the only trade we make, its a bad move. but if its the start of a trade wave and trade away some veterans, then could be a good move, because Volkov looks like better then Morand.. at the moment we can't protect Shatt, Mahura, Heinen, Milano and Volkov...
