I believe Lindstrom would need to go on waivers again to go to the Gulls. Hellesin showed well in the few games he played last year and even scored a goal so yes he is worth a shot.

The Gulls aren’t good by any stretch , but Helleson has an abysmal 1G 5A -4 30GP. Could just be a product of a poorly coached  team or he’s under utilized, but yea.

which is also like...not uncommon...it's pretty common for 18-year-old rookies who play a full season to lose a lot of steam at the end. In that same context I'm curious to see how Minty and JLC do with their first full season and if we see them take some steps back as the season goes on.

Tampa Bay did this sort of thing with Stamkos out of the gate and look how that turned out, pretty positive results.. kid had a big night tonight in Boston, and has consistently shown that he is the real deal. Whatever is happening seems to be working so far!

Forums are places where we, the fans can have our opinions.  I don't think being told to "shut up" is appropriate.  Even for you - you got to have your opinion.  I have mine.  It's not the end of the world.

The board always slides into r/Anaheimducks Reddit theme during the sunrise of the season.

Well....you sound very positive, maybe they'll indeed won't be afraid "to gang you up or mix it up along the boards". But so far, I see what I see: in the last pre-season game Ducks lineup was close to what we expect to see in the opening night, yet they still lost to another NHL doormat 7:1.

You are a work of art 1993.. Apparently living in an Era of change and the passing of torches doesn’t suit you…. You call Arizona a “doormat” team , you constantly talk crap about Gibson as though he’s not the only/best goalie we have to Ice each game … You hate Pat Verbeek, you don’t like Cronin, you’re not a fan of going through growing pains……. Is there anything you like? Don’t you understand that we have to build things?

Aside from the contracts being annoying, this hour glass posts are quickly becoming annoying too and make zero sense. Give it up. You're a master of magic? Do a trick and make the hour glass posts disappear.

Been a while since you’ve had anything positive to say. Guess we will flip the hour glass for you too. Lighten up.

Getzlaf probably had another year left in him but wanted nothing to do with the low quality roster that was being built. Either way you look at it, Verbbek still made the comment of expecting to be .500 or better despite losing a significant amount of skilled players and never replacing them.

You’re out of your Gourde, Yanni .

Off all the potential shortcomings a prospect can have, which do you think is most “correctable”?  Skating?  Shot?  Decision making?  Other?

I’d probably go with skating and shot as most “correctable”. You can physically put the time in on the ice to constantly improve those 2 aspects , as opposed to the whole mental side of things. Vision and IQ fall more into the “intangibles” category imo.

It’s not merch, those jerseys get auctioned off to relevant charities. So it’s much worse than that, the NHL is actively preventing good charities from being able to receive donations. Like 5 dudes didn’t wear the jersey last year. They can get over it, typical Bettman taking the fall for the terrible ownership group that probably wanted this more than any player

Friedman said that the special jerseys will still be made and sold per usual, just not worn during the warmups. Charities and other organizations will still get proceeds from the sales of these as well .

    You can speak for me.

It says a lot when you're the ONLY player in the entire league who refuses to get vaccinated.

Whatever BS excuses he had were lame and pathetic then and they're lame and pathetic now.  FREEDUMB just means you're a selfish prick, who couldn't care less about others.

No one cares about this anymore.

is Steel playing their #1 C position?  are you sure?  didn't seem like that last night.

if so... i think they're royally screwed.

He was playing as elite 1C midway through the season due to injuries…He was playing with their 3rd line last night though.

  11. Steel had pretty sweet breakaway goal to tie the game for the Wild. This should be a good overtime(s)

Calling it… Benn for Dallas, Bouchard for Oilers

    Edmonton dominating early

It’s been a great game ! I’m rooting for the Oilers to win the cup (mostly for Mcdavid)

    Agreed.

How about this - keep the current starters in, but right when the players come in from the pre-game skate, Verbeek announces that (1) Comtois and Benoit will not be getting QOs, (2) Grant, Harrington, Beaulieu, Megna and Shattenkirk won't be brought back, and (3) there will be an entirely new coaching staff next season. I'm sure they all know those things are coming, but that kind of kick in the nads right before a game should suck the energy right out of the room.

Harrington has been pretty damn decent if you ask me.. plays 20 minutes give or take, has scored some goals, and is a +- 0 .

I'm with you.  It's a bummer that there's this tool in their toolbox that GMs just ignore unless they're trying to tick someone off.  But it's like a GM cold war.  They're afraid that the first person to lob an offersheet bomb is going to incite a free agent nuclear winter.

This. As well as the fact you’re probably ruining any sort of relationship with the team you Offersheeted front office , and probably take a big hit to your reputation/standing with all the others GM’s in the league. It’s tricky waters to navigate, but I mean we’re all here to win at all costs, are we not?

I disagree with this. As of now, Stolarz is a better netminder than Dostal IMO. I love Dostal's potential and I raved about him last season after watching him in person in San Diego, but he's still got some inconsistencies to work through. Stolarz is also not getting enough credit for the goalie he is now. Stolarz is not just some McBackup we've plucked off the waiver wire as a placeholder. He's a legit NHL netminder. He's also a monster (6'6", 240lbs) who takes up an awful lot of net, and he's still just 28-years-old, which is often considered to be a goalie's prime. In 37 games for the Ducks over the past three seasons, playing behind one of the worst defenses in the NHL, Stolarz has a .920 SV% with a 2.54 GAA and 4 shutouts, and he's a pending UFA  this season who will be trying to play out of his mind for his next contract, so I expect a really big season from Stolarz.

It should also be pointed out that when Gibson faced the Kings in the 2014 playoffs, he was the 3rd string netminder behind Hiller and Freddy. Hiller started the first two games of the Kings series and then Freddy started game 3 after the Ducks went down 0-2. Freddy played amazing in game 3 and then got hurt in the 3rd period, and then Hiller came back in to finish that game. Gibson then got the start in game 4 because Freddy was injured and Hiller, essentially by his own admission, had checked out mentally because he'd lost the starting job to Freddy. But if Freddy hadn't gotten hurt in game 3, and if Hiller hadn't gotten butt-hurt in that same game, Gibson likely doesn't even get a sniff of ice time in the 2014 playoffs.

    So much this.

Development being done correctly. EXGMBM rushed too many players who are now stars on other teams (wild bill, Shea Theodore, Palmieri, etc).

Beeker is a proper GM. This is an accurate timeline and process. No worries :)

Not worried at all! I agree with the decision. Kid is going to be a roster player one day .

The Zegras interview on Spittin Chiclets is pretty funny. Sounds like he loves living in Newport Beach and might have the most Californian personality of someone not from the state. He mentioned Verbeek changing the culture right when he became GM.

I feel better about him signing a max deal now.

Kid is just livin the dream. Every time he panned to that sunset I just shook my head in envy.
