Chicago Sun Times reporting that Anaheim has been inquiring about Dominik Kubalik. Decent middle-6 winger. Not a bad addition if/when Rakell leaves. I still wish they’d gone for Dylan Strome when the price was dirt cheap though. Dude had 7pts in his first 22 games, was being healthy scratched, and could have been had for a bag of pucks and some stick tape. Now he has 24 pts in his last 24 games (including that hatty against the Ducks) and will cost at least a 2nd rounder. How much better would Strome look instead of Steel as a top-6 C while Getz is out…

I’ve been all in on Strome since he was mentioned on these boards. I’d give a 2nd EASILY for the guy and he’s only 25. Strome makes Steel look like a pee-wee player.

Don't think Sustr has anything to do with Shatt but......watching Shatt last night I can't wait for the day he is gone.  I know he added some punch to our O early on but he is an absolute defensive nightmare turnover machine.

Shattenkirk couldn’t hold the blue line if you drew one on his palm. Sustr is a good depth signing imo. Big body who can make a decent first pass in our D-Zone.

Interesting, when someone starts to criticize Gibson, immediately his die-heart followers like Nieder, Fisix and others jump to his defense "He had grade A scoring chances against him" and "nothing he could do in this situation".

That's what decent, overrated goaltenders do; have a spectacular games here and there, followed by streak of terrible games, usually when it matters the most. So, my point is: if Gibson wants to work somewhere else, give his this opportunity. I don't think Lukas Dostal next season would be worse than him.

You can’t be serious , right? Even you had to have choked on your Kool-Aid when you wrote that. Yikes.

LeBrun reporting it's going to be Verbeek.

I'm kinda surprised it's not an internal hire but I'm ok with getting an Yzerman protege.

Looks like the job is his for sure. I guess the other 2 candidates were AGM Botterill in Seattle and the AGM for the Rangers Ryan Martin.

Even then, though, you're talking about one year.  Cam's deal is up after the next season.  Unless it's dire, I'm sure they'll find a way to manage for one season.  And if it is dire, you can always go the buyout route with Fowler as a last resort.

I think this is moot anyway.  I don't think Chychrun is worth the assets the Coyotes are asking for, but even if he were, it makes the most sense if Lindholm is out the door.  And then the salary is of no issue.

    He’s signed through 2025 isn’t he ?

  6. Was just listening to the new spittin chiclets podcast today. Ryan Whitney was talking about Bob Murray and how mean and vindictive he was to certain people. The hockey gods fired him for us. Hoping this doesn’t effect the good hockey we’ve been playing this year.

rumor is it's down to Calgary or Vegas....I think we may be officially out

(of course, no one is ever out, but this is the first time we've basically not been considered in the sweepstakes)

I wonder if us looking a bit better this season made Bob want to hold on to some more pieces...

We all know that he’s a master at holding on to things until they expire. I was in the trade for Eichel camp since the beginning , but with the teams play so far , I’ve happily slipped out in the middle of the night to the other camp.

I was obviously commenting on the ESPN coverage.

Not sure how you could have such a difficult time understanding that. Perhaps next time, hire someone to help you comprehend posts? or perhaps read slower.

They have people who you can hire as well. They’ll teach you how to be less condescending .

  9. If we do move on from Gibson, I’m confident that Stolarz can hold down the starting job until Dostal is ready. Albeit he hasn’t played a ton of games In his career , he’s still posted no lower  than a .920 SV% in 2 seasons with us , and we suck. No one shows him any love . He’s solid .

It’s definitely a risk though. I’d put Volkov in a similar category as Djoos. I’m not going to be surprised if he’s claimed.

Kids a good hockey player , had some strong games last year at the end of the season. Why would we even risk waivers with him? Head scratcher for sure. Apparently if you show any type of offensive output you’re going to get sent down.

Why? He's been in the league since 2010 and in that time observed plenty. With the Eichel debacle he's deciding to speak out on what he's seen. His first tweet was today and already the NHL wants to meet with him to discuss his statement. Good for him.

According to him , Buffalo ruined his ankle surgery and the follow up rehab. I like seeing the league and others being held accountable. This league has been notorious when it comes to transparency. Good on him .

Check out Eric Stephens at The Athletic.  He's been prolific since camp has begun.

It’s definitely worth the small subscription price . It also feeds his Twitter posts there as well, for those of you who don’t dabble in the Twitter world .

Anyway read that Gibson article in the athletic? Saying he wants to win, everyone wants to win...while we are rebuilding....just...obviously everyone wants to win, but you can't do both. If you want to rebuild, you're not gonna win.... if you're winning...you're probably not rebuilding (unless you're just super lucky!) I think we need to trade him. Honestly, he was an untouchable for me or a while...and I'd still hate to lose him...but he can do more good somewhere else and we'd get a good amount back...and we probably are just wasting away some of his best years. I think he'll be great for a while, but right now he needs to be on a competitive team.

get him over to Edmonton and then we get Draisitle lol

I couldn’t agree more. Guys fed up. Trade him to Dallas along with Manson for Robinson and Hintz . Money doesn’t add up, but we all know we could retrieve a great package for him . Help the rebuilding process.

I believe we got hockey tonight! Young guys take the ice at 5 and will be streamed online

    It’s about time, right!?!?
Looks like Zegras is on a line with Perrault and Tschergel tonight. power play 1 was Zegras, Drysdale, Perrault, Mctavish, and Groulx. Sounds deadly !

Well there goes my plan of acquiring Dvorak. I wonder if BM has blisters on his behind from all that sitting around.

Pretty brutal . Is it weird that I don’t even sigh anymore when this stuff happens . All jokes aside, what is this guy doing (not doing) ? It’s past laughable , now it’s just painful.

So, the guy had 5 months off and didn't even bother to have a surgery to fix his neck. And whoever obtains Eichel, have to place him on IR for 3 or 4 months until he recovers. And even when he's ready to go, is he going to be the same player? As much as I am skeptical about BM, I have to give him a credit for not going after this player.

The surgery Eichel wants has a much quicker  recovery time. It is nowhere near the 3-4 month range . If he had the surgery when he wanted he would have been cleared before training camp this season.
