I just don't get why any player in their 30s would be interested in signing here for a couple years and then booted (aka contract expires) when the Ducks start to get good again. And PV has no interest in signing players in their 30s to, I'm guessing, anything longer than 3 years...so...there's no fit here. He needs to go trade route. Get players on expiring contracts to help other teams out in cap space (or players with 2 or 3 years left), who could be flipped at a TDL.

Or, try and get some younger players that could be part of the winning Ducks team...but that would likely be much harder to get...and might not really make sense unless the player said they wanted out.

    Exactly!

This is just speculation, but I can think of three reasons right off the top of my head:

    1. Pacioretty had a 10-team NTC.  It would not surprise me at all if the Ducks were on it.  He doesn't want to go play for a non-playoff team.
    2. If Vegas was going to give him away, would they rather give him away to a division opponent or to an Eastern Conference team?  Of course the Ducks aren't much of a threat in the division and there's always the chance Carolina could face them in the Cup final.  But on balance, I'd rather get him out of the conference and not have to play any meaningful games against him.
    3. The Ducks would undoubtedly be moving Pacioretty at the deadline.  At that point, they might trade him somewhere he'll do real damage against Vegas in the playoffs.  Carolina will be hanging onto him so that risk is minimal.

Ducks are on everyone's NTC lists (including Ducks players haha jk)

    • Anaheim Ducks defense prospect Brendan Guhle won’t be staying in North America for 2022-23 after signing a contract with the DEL’s Eisbären Berlin. Guhle, originally selected 51st overall by the Buffalo Sabres in 2015, will still belong to the Ducks organization if they issue the pending restricted free agent a qualifying offer. Guhle has just 65 NHL games to his name at this point, tallying 14 points. He had just seven points in 37 games last season in the AHL with San Diego.

Maybe it should be move to former Ducks forum also. 😎

Considering Bob is probably in the worst time of his life, I suggest we have a rule to just leave the entire Bob issue alone.  If his behavior was like this in the work place the ones I feel bad for is his family.

I have been the most critical of him for years but think there needs to be some consideration from here on out.

    no, it hasn't.

to all:  these types of investigations can go pretty quickly, especially if all we're talking about is initial findings.  this could be a week or two old.

My guess is the decision is made and now its about negotiating a financial good by package.
