Good point. I'd like to think that ownership wasn't really aware to the extent of Murray being so terrible. Apparently, it all came about due to Ducks employees contacting the anonymous hotline that the league set up in the wake of the Kyle Beech scandal with the Blackhawks. The Samuelis skated away rather unscathed by the Murray debacle.

The fact that Murray is allowed inside Honda Center without buying a ticket is an absolute joke. I don't care when it has something to do with his role with the Flames. For the members of the organization that had to endure his abuse seeing him employed and back on the old stomping grounds has to be a kick in the stones.

Stevie Wonder could see how bad Brian Murry was as a GM. I spoke to Adam years back in their crystal bowl, they believe they did a great job.

All we have to do is stay hopeful and plan for the worst.

I think Verbeek initially wanted to see more immediate improvement this season when he first took the job, but it's likely the summer didn't go as well as he had hoped in terms of building out a competitive roster. We know he tried hard to get Niederreiter (who would have been a top-6 winger here) in mid-July, and if he was after Niederreiter then chances are pretty good that he was also chasing some other higher end talent (or else the Strome and Vatrano signings wouldn't have really made much sense either for a team that was tanking from the start). We'll probably never know all the names that Verbeek wanted to get last summer, but the Klingberg signing on July 29th and the Kulikov trade on August 31 should have been a signal to everyone that they were not going to be chasing a playoff spot this season. No team with playoff aspirations is waiting until that late in the summer to add two top-4 defenders, especially when those two top-4 defenders are on expiring contracts and have significant value at the trade deadline. That's the kind of move a GM makes when he knows his team can't make the playoffs, but he's feeling pressure to keep the fans interested. It's no different than what Chicago did by signing top-6 forwards in Domi and Athanasiou. Chicago was just a little more straight forward with their fans regarding their management's expectations for this season.

The big question now is, how soon can we fill in the blank spaces in this roster to become a playoff team again:

    _______ - Zegras - Terry

    _______ - McTavish - Strome

    Vatrano - Lundestrom - _______

    _______ - _________ - ________

    Fowler - ________

    _______ - Drysdale

    _______ - _________

    Gibson, Dostal

I believe Dostal will be traded on March 3

  3. For some of us who were there on day one, We got the same gibberish at the end of the season.

"We will be active; we will go after the best talent" I do not believe we will land the first pick overall.

Last season, they said we have a pile of picks. Give me a break; what do we do until they mature? Oh, trade them.

I believe that @PatVerbeek will do the same this off-season. I used to go to every game or event and spend the money to see the boys. Now it is heartache.

I was at the game last night. Yes, Klinberg is even worse in person. Drop passes to nowhere and makes poor decisions when to jump into plays. Henrique makes very soft plays, doesn’t pay much attention. Terry is not a passer. Zegras and McTavish are developing a strong chemistry. Our entire defensive core is a joke.

but I’ve been saying that for years. When people were trying to blame Gibson, it’s the defense

Agree with you there. The offense is not that hot. Last three games lost in OT was number 11 who lost them all for us. Turn over, penalty, and last night daydreaming.

I just want to see a Brodeur-type season out of him, at least once. He may very well need the defense to improve by leaps and bounds for that, but I really really want him to put the team on his back and clearly challenge for the Vezina.

Respectfully, Gibi has not had a good D playing in front of him ever. If you judge a fish climbing a tree, he will fail.

Hopefully our GM will get six good defencemen who play a full 60 minutes one day soon.

Meh.  Chicago, Detroit... we've had other good games, and not all were wins.

@patverbeek No one win a medal for champion, last place in the league.

PP, PK, and Wins we are in last place. Unless the Anaheim Ducks is a tax write off for the Samueleas, something has to change. NOW!

Once Perreault got his clocked cleaned by that hit in the AZ game, he started to really play with an edge. I still don't see Tracey doing anything. He seems to be a little cocky without having a reason to back it up. Still think he's one of the worst picks made by Anaheim in the last 15 years

Bloody win one (1) game And this is our future?

Why is it wild?  Look at the number of F's under contract - including Silfverberg, so 13 - and the amount of money the Ducks are spending on them, and then compare it to any other team.  Even for teams with 9 F's under contract the Ducks are spending the least amount of money in the league on F's, in most cases millions.  They are spending less on their F's than ARZ, who is actively tanking.

Every team except ARZ ($32 MM), BUF ($37 MM), and CHI ($39 MM) is $40 MM or more on their Fs or will be once they have 12-13 F's under contract.  If the Ducks bring Silf up and demote Gawdin they will be at $30.7 MM.

Won't last long, just crazy to look at their current situation.

Looks like that GMPV, like the center position, he drafted 3 of them and loaded the team on free agency. It is going to be very interesting....

According to social media, gibi is willing to wave his NTC.

Sending him to Edmonton will be crazy, what will you get back? They have only 7 m in cap space, he is at 6.5m

Send him to Toronto for marner it will be a great deal for both clubs, Dubas looking for cap relief

send him to NJ for the 2 over all + prospect or a DMan will be a fabulous deal

Clearly from My Understanding...Verbeek was Cleaning House but also send a Message that Failure will no longer be tolerated. Whoever the Ducks Hire for San Diego I hope he shares Beekers Phisophy.

Accountability and commitment to the team is very important on a team. We did not have any of it for some time now.

The season is over for us, let's see what our new GM does on the off season and the draft. Unless Bob did nothing, I am hoping for a CHANGE.
