Unfortunately, Bob Murry is not a GM who has the guts to pull the trigger on fireworks. It did not happen in the past 10 years it will not happen now.

You suggesting our Ducks use that pick to get a Younger Veteran...Let see if there is one I think Ducks should go after it's Drouin.

I was suggesting we trade it for some leadership I would love to see JG Pageau in a duck uniform we need a natural goal score.

  4. The Bruins are on the verge of elimination. Our pick could be as high as 23 give or take. I know Bob does not think that way, but we can use it to draft someone or trade for a "younger veteran" to support the new graduates we will have on the bench.

It's not Nashville. I'm satisfied. Too bad for Florida or Minnesota though.

Guys, I agree with you all. he could be a complete bust just like Nail Yakupov, or Patrik Stefan remember theme?

With that said, there are two teams out of the playoffs one has Sid Cros and one has Conor McD in the regular season they score big goals but lost in the preplayoff games. it is a TEAM sport they forgot that.

the baseball players opting out sort of started the ball rolling.  then, so many NHL players testing positive since June (and the articles broadcasting that stat) sort of hit home with the more responsible older players, i think, when they realized their health and family time were now subject to a groups that includes AHL players and really young rooks, as well as other long time players with, perhaps, a bit more worldly self-restraint/resolve.

it's just a guess, but once one professional league player declined, in the US, the bowl was tipped, and then the constant uptick in cases (and the reporting of same) started the dribble out of the bowl.

what i don't know is how the owners feel about this.  it looks like they've minimized or at least quantified their losses by locking down almost all the venues, so there's not going to be risk involved in having staff working locally.  they're solely looking for television revenue to offset team salaries, and the team salaries are pretty much locked in regardless of play... except for bonuses i guess.  i suppose it stands to reason that they're pushing pretty hard at having games, and equally invested in players being safe with each other and the community.  they probably have a longer eye on this too, and don't want to risk players long term health (though a slight push back on that is that each player is going to just get older/out of their prime).

it's sort of like you said, dtsdlaw, they saw Euro soccer and thought we could pull it off here with the NHL, and now players and probably more are getting cold feet, since it seems our society can't quite keep things going in the right direction.

I beg the differ sir, Baseball is NOT  a sport curling on the radio is more exciting than baseball do not mix it with hockey.

That is not good...yet it's sad...I imagine like you say all sports teams will have to face this tough decision...I know for sure Some Local Ticket holders were saying junior arenas MAY do the same.

    MoosDuck,

I agree with you it is very sad. because I am in the hospitality sector  I saw it first hand. it is not pablesised but important information when fans make decision.

I miss live hockey at the pond.

  8. Guys great topic,

It will be sometime before fans will be aloud in the stand call it the new norm.  All football baseball field basketball and hockey arena had to let go of their staff. Levy restaurant group, sodexo, legends, spectra and delaware north the top players in arena management has let go over 8500 management staff at the beginning of the month across the US.

They recently had 6 straight playoff appearances including 2 trips to the Western Conference Finals. One of which they were up 3 games to 2 and should have gone on to win. Murray put together some good teams. They also finished last in the division in 2011-2012 before turning things around, so Bob has already been in this situation before. There's plenty to be critical of Murray about but there's no real evidence to back up your assertion that the Ducks will not be a contender with him in control.

In saying that, it seems like every year he comes out and throws players, the leadership, the coaching under the bus. At what point does this fall back on him? I would have liked to see a fresh start this last off season with a new GM and new coach.

    they need another 1st overall

Almost doesn't count I guess I have high standards wanting to win the cup again.

  11. I beg the differ sir, what do you call the Despres signing? Eaves was good as gone at the end of the season I could tell you he will not make it look at his history 3 year contract?  what do you call Bieksa getting two years with NTC before he made it to CA? and then we give up a talented puck moving defenseman to Vegas. Bob is a Bust I was there in day one 1993 I will always watch the ducks he needs to go. fish rotten from the heads down On June 6, 2020 we celebrated 13 years of the cup coming to CA have you seen a peep I did not.

  12. let's be honest here, as long as Bob is in control the Ducks will not be a contender. He handed terrible contracts and we lost because of it. He did it in Chicago once they let him go the became a better team. we have some good young talent in the pipeline if we want to win we need provide leadership on and of the ice. As I see it it does no exorcist.

  13.

FOX, the Ducks payroll for the upcoming season $70.5 Million we have $11.4 million cap space. If Kesler (I wish him all the best health) is on LTIR we should have an addition $6.8 Million With $18 Million we can do some moves or should make some trades, or sign an UFA PP quarterback we drafted in the past and traded for a second rounder add that to the kids in the system Cinderella lives in Anaheim.
