  1. Well, of course! THAT explains things! Our "worst in the NHL" shots against were because of Gibson's PADS!!! ๐Ÿ˜ฒ
  2. Alex Killorn LW - 805GP 198G 268A 466P +96 481PM Radko Gudas D - 682GP 33G 131A 164P +73 843PM I like these two. Impressive plus/minus as well as penalty minutes.
  3. I remember Pierre Gauthier, He was the only GM in NHL history shorter than Gary Bettman, and only drafted players even shorter...
  4. Drysdale got an offer! There, there - The big bad Verbeek isn't all THAT scary! ๐Ÿ˜ฒ
  5. That's why I'm OK with Carlsson. There's lot's of grumbling right now about how the Ducks finished last in the NHL but chose the third best pick. Fantilli and Carlsson so close in ability that I consider them tied for second best. So I'm happy that we used our second overall pick to draft one of the two second best players.
  6. Say, did you just get back from a camping trip with FS93? ๐Ÿ™‚
  7. To bad we didn't draft him with our final pick. The Ducks could've had a Finnish finish! ๐Ÿ™ƒ
  8. Not trying to argue here, but needing some clarification. Why all the unhappiness over our #33 pick, Myatovic? From the hockey writer's website: "One of the biggest risers of this yearโ€™s draft, going from 47th at the midterm mark to 26th on the NHL Central Scouting North American Skaters final list, Nico Myatovic enters the draft with a ton of momentum. He is a prospect who continually improved his game throughout the season and was one of the most trusted forwards on the Seattle Thunderbirds this season. A strong two-way forward who is great on the forecheck, he would be a solid addition to any team looking to improve their depth on the wing." Who should we have picked instead? (Again, not arguing - just curious.)
  9. Hey, we now have goaltenders Clara and Clang! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ (Kinda' reminds me of the H.R. Pufnstuf days...)
  10. Geez, Sask. You're starting to sound like EeyoreSince93... I was impressed by Fantilli congratulating Bedard and Carlsson when they were picked. Shows character.
  11. When I first read the opening post I asked myself, "Who is Looch?" I was just about to look him up when I realized the thread was about Lucic... ๐Ÿ™„
  12. Hey, try THIS link! There's some laugh out loud moments here that I'm not going to mention... https://bleacherreport.com/articles/716609-top-25-oddest-coolest-most-unusual-names-for-nhl-hockey-players
  13. Thought I'd add to the "fun" here... There's been lots of comments about "anti-pride" sentiments and loss of revenue from jersey auctions, and such. I'd like to draw attention (as neutrally as possible) to the link in the post that started this thread. Here's an excerpt from that link: "Teams will still celebrate Pride and other theme nights, including military appreciation and Hockey Fights Cancer. Theyโ€™re also expected to still design and produce jerseys to be autographed and sold to raise money, even though players wonโ€™t skate around with them on during warmups." My question would be, is it really all that important that the players actually wear them during warmups? I guess maybe to some, yes, and to others, no.
  14. Hmm. The sponsor article says their logo will be on the right shoulder, like the photo shows. The article does show the 30th patch on the left shoulder in the photo, but doesn't mention that patch anywhere in the text. (I'm imagining in my head the Ducks management looking at the new design with admiration, and someone's 7-year-old looks at the jersey and says, "Where's the A or C go?" And the management team all slap their foreheads at the same time...) I'm thinking the 30th patch will be on the left shoulder unless the player is an "A" or a "C", in which case that player won't wear the 30th patch.
  15. Hmm, interesting! I think I'd like it better as a third jersey rather than full-time.
  16. This is why, although I'd be thrilled to get a 1st overall pick, I'm not losing any sleep over it. I wonder how many 2nd overall picks have won the Cup? (I know of one, hee hee!)
  17. Thought I'd resurrect this thread to point out that the lowest playoff team on this list just won the Stanley Cup! (The bottom 5 are shown here) Interestingly, the 9 goals that Vegas scored in the series-clinching game were scored by 7 different Vegas players, which dovetails nicely into the above list.
  18. YAY!!! Another round of applause for Belarus and his AMAZING predictions!!! ๐Ÿคฉ
  19. Although I sure nobody in the front office will admit it, I feel the above quote is spot on. Retaining Eakins, not making the team better via trades or signings, and seeing the depth of this year's draft tells me the Ducks were thinking, "Let's burn a season, finish low in the standings, get a good draft pick, hire a new coach and start with a clean slate." Now, someone correct me on this if I'm wrong, but wasn't the Klingberg signing simply to get us to the salary cap floor? After all, we signed him for only one year in a season the Ducks were already burning. So, in closing, rather than use the phrase "Negative Nancy" and get myself labeled a MISOGYNIST again, let me explain this way. Nobody knows how successful or unsuccessful Verbeek and Cronin will be at this time. They might do well, or we might finish in the 33rd spot next season... It wouldn't surprise me either way. But I'm in wait and see mode. I choose to be an optimist rather than a pessimist. Walking around saying, "woe is me, woe is me" all day is a waste of my time.
  20. OK, I have a question. If you could trade our #2 overall pick for ANY player in the NHL, who would you choose? I'll start. Would you consider Matthew Tkachuk?
  21. I was thinking 4-5 seasons. It's good to see you so optimistic for a change! ๐Ÿ™‚
  22. Welcome to the team, Greg Cronin! Hey everyone, look at the photo of Verbeek and Cronin holding up the #23 Ducks jersey. Don't they look like twins? ๐Ÿ˜€ "Hello? Mr. Verbeek? Hi, it's me Belarus. Belarus. Never heard of me? Hey, I understand. Hey, listen. Could you do me a favor and hire back Dallas Eakins instead of this Cronin fellow? Yeah, the whiny, negative Nancys on the Ducks board would be happier if you did. Yeah, I know, we should give him a chance and all that. And I'm sure we'd finish better than 32nd place next season. But the whiny, negative Nancys would sure appreciate it if you brought back Mr. Eakins. After all, I think they've gotten quite comfortable with the Ducks being the doormat of the league, and I wouldn't want them to be disappointed. Yes, I'm sure. OK, Mr. Verbeek. Thank you for your time. I'll give my regards to the whiny, negative Nancys on the board for you. Nice talking to you too, sir. Bye bye." Is that even POSSIBLE?...
  23. Any predictions for the Stanley Cup Final? I'll say Florida in seven. (Y'all know I'm terrible at this, right? Like, you know, the worst?)
  24. Whatever you do out there, don't play the lottery. Duck fans have horrible luck with it...
  25. If so, can you blame him? HOWEVER... I asked the mailman, the milkman. the newspaper boy, the girl who works the drive up window at McDonalds, the guy who cleans the neighbor's pool, AND the smartest man I know - Hans Delbruck. And NOBODY can confirm that John Gibson has asked for a trade...
