  1. You're also wanting to swap a guy that has played 160 games the last 3 year for ine that has played 80 games for various reasons to sacmve 600k. I'd rsther pay the extra 600k for a player that is actually going to play games.
  2. Verbeek could have had him for nothing earlier this year so I highly doubt he is going to give up assets for him when he didnt want him for free.
  3. My mistake, looking at the career stats and counting last 4 seasons did not notice that 20-21 was split stats. Vrana 58 goals last 4 years, Henrique 76 goals last 4 years. And the 30 goal scorer was a comment based on what Henrique is on pace for this year.
  4. And this is why you arent a GM in the NHL. A straight up Vrana/Henrique trade is awful. A 30 goal scorer for a guy that has 30 goals the last 4 years combined. Awful. If Verbeek made that trade he should be fired immediately. Corey Perry was on a masisve downgrade in his career. Moving to 3 other teams has bot brought him back to being a consistent goal scorer. Actually if inly you could go back in time, I was calling for the Ducks to trade Corey Perry a year before the buyout, after one bad year and playoff, while his value was high. Then he just got worse and a buyout had to happen. You keep mentioning guys going "change of scenery will help them". Change of scenery trades hardly ever work out to the player doing anything. The Ducks have done this in the past and the player did nothing. Again I'll bring up Puljujarvi, he couldnt score or put up numbers playing with McDavid. How will he ever do anything offensively here? He dies not drive play on his own. Reclamation projects are a terrible idea and dont help the Ducks get any better. Dylan Strome was a 1 in 100 scenario. And even then, only has a career high 51 points in his career and has been on a downward trend ever since. There has been way too many players on this team in the past that have a bad year and fans go, wait until next year they will regain their scoring touch, and it never happens. If a guy cant put up points playing on a line with the best player in the NHL, then he isnt going to do it with this roster and we already have enough warm bodies that do nothing.
  5. Comtois would not get you Jake Bean and the Ducks would not be willing to part with the necessary draft picks to get him.
  6. Kapanen is 26 years old already. I would t touch him at all. The only possible llayers I would touch or Garianov or Kravtsov. Kravtsov is likely going in the Kane trade so out on that one and the ask for Garianov is a 2023 1st round pick, which the Ducks would be stupid to trade. Puljujarvi, Kapanen, and Vrana are all just more players with similar skill sets to what the Ducks already have. No finish and bottom six players. They dont move the needle at all when it comes to making the Ducks better.
  7. Dadonov was only a 20 goal guy due to who he was playing with. He has a whole 4 goals in 48 games this year playing with the Habs. He would have never been a 20 goal guy with the Ducks. Just much of the same as he is now. I like how you toss Niederreiter in the mix. He doesn't play here. Yes the rumor is Verbeek tried to get him but in the end never did. Verbeek might want to add middle six guys but this team is overflowing with middle six guys, eventually you need that top talent in order to do anything.
  8. Dadonov wasn't immediate help though if the trade went through. Vegas needed to dump salary. Verbeek sae it as an opportunity to help them out and get an additional 2nd round pick. He wanted the pick, not the player. And all the player would have done was help meet the salary cap floor. He was never coming in to be a top line player.
  9. Big difference: Rob Niedermayer an NHL player on a NHL team, brother wanted to win a Stanley Cup with him, came to Anaheim to play together. Josiah Slavin, career AHL player, not much upside to play in NHL. Brother can come here, but won't be on the same team at all.
  10. It's not exactly a selling point though. "Come sign with the Ducks. We have your brother here. You will be one of our top defensemen, but he'll be playing in San Diego. We just have you both in the same system, but you will not play on the same team". How is that a selling point? Might as well sign somewhere good as they will be on different teams regardless.
  11. We have our first trade. Ducks trade Hunter Drew to CHI for Josiah Slavin. Slavin 3 goals, 8 assists, in 51 games in the AHL this season and one assist in 15 NHL games, so not really much of anything but an AHL move. Traded a 6th round pick in Drew for a 7th round pick in Slavin.
  12. Horrible trade for the Ducks. Gibson has the opportunity to be the best player in the trade moving out of an Eakins based system. Gibson's numbers have declined ever since Eakins took over and low a behold this is his worse year with no defense. How many no chance goals has he given up? Jarry will be even worse. Heck even Dostal gives up 7 goals with this garbage group. Kapanen is nothing but a cap dump for the Penguins and holds little value. Not sure why the Ducks give up a 2nd just to get one back. Kulikov for Petterson is fine. If this is the basis, Gibson, Kulikov, and 2nd for Jarry, Pettersen, and 1st might be more accurate. Just to make it interesting: Gibson's numbers before Eakins: 103-69-28 2.39GAA .922SV%, 16SO After Eakins: 57-94-29 3.31 GAA, .902SV%, 6SO
  13. What players will they get?? Klingberg is only worth a pick. Maybe b prospect and 2nd pick. Kulikov, pick, Comtois, pick. Henrique might get a decent prospect and pick, but not an impact player for this year. Ducks will not be in on Kane, Meier, etc. There will be no immediate help for this team. After the deadline they will be treading water like last year. Best they can do is finish last, guarantee and top 3 pick and that player will be the most impactful one they get. Rocco Grimaldi will not come up to the Ducks and light it up. Just because he is the Gulls best player. If he was that good at the NHL level he would have not bounced around between teams already. I assume you thought Gerry Mayhew was a stud too. You like the confused icon too I take it.
  14. Good for you. Hope to see the losing streak ends. The other 99.9% of us will continue to pray it continues. This team is going nowhere. Even if they win every single game for the rest of the year they will still miss the playoffs. You want this team to improve faster, then join the rest of us hoping for them to lose out. Finishing last guarantees the Ducks pick no worse then 3rd overall and those top 3 picks can all be game changing players. Get one of them and this roster inproves. We will not see the Ducks add anyone good at the trade deadline, just sell off their assets and acquire picks. This season was lost long ago, now it's just a question of how much worse will it be.
  15. The Ducks will get picks, but there is no chance they will be bringing in any competent players to help the team in the long run.
  16. Or more likely Puljujarvi comes here and does nothing. He couldnt do anything with McDavid what makes you think he can do anything here. Zack Kassian put up points playing alongside McDavid and he is awful. Puljujarvi can do nothing on McDavid's wing. Would just be another roster filler that does nothing.
  17. Yes a learning season for our four forwards that may have any impact that are under 25, Zegras, Terry, Lundestrom, McTavish. Or is it a learning season for the 15 players 25 or over that have been around the block more then once. Didn't know they would need any more learning seasons. That's 15 out of 21 players, more then half the team. Comtois, Leason, and Jones are basically a you get what you see player. There is no more development out of those 3. Not sure how the Ducks could be in a "learning season" as you say when the majority of the players are veterans, not very good veterans though, that won't be here in the long run. The Ducks don't have a "young core" besides 5 players and one is learning nothing on the injured list all season. But you keep walking the company line. Good on you. Glad they have you buying into the garbage they are selling. Most of us aren't though.
  18. LOL, top 4 in the West going into this year. Seriously?? Man I want some of what you have. This team was never going to be in the top 4. Who was going to lead them there Vatrano and Strome, or Derek Grant, or maybe it was the great pickups of Brett Leason and Megna, two useless players that are just wasting roster spots. To think we gave up Josh Mahura on waivers for Brett Leason, someone who would have been better on the blueline the White or Beaulieu. Even the waiver moves out of training camp made the roster worse. This was never going to be a top 4 team. Unless you meant top 4 by battling out for the bottom 4 spots in the west. Seriously, I went into this year expecting the Ducks to battle for dead last. They've met my expectations. I guess those great players Beulieau, White, Megna, Leason, Vatrano, Kulikov, Strome, Klingberg were the missing parts that were going to lead the Ducks to the promised land.🙄 I just looked at the roster, there are only 4 top 6 forwards on this team, everyone else is bottom 6 with most being nothing better then 4th line players, and 2 top 4 defenseman, one injured for the season, everyone else bottoming pairing or 6th/7th defenseman. What does that tell you about the talent on this team? It tells me it is visible lacking.
  19. Do you work for the Ducks? Every post has you walking the company line of evaluation for the season and you never say anything negative about this team. This team was built to lose, plain and simple, and Eakins is kept on to ensure that happens as he is horrible. Anyone else and the whole coaching staff would have been canned after that embarrassing eastern Canada road trip at the latest. Eakins just stays as he is the best option to continue to lose and finish dead last, guaranteeing no lower then 3rd overall at the draft. No coach would make it through then end of the year with the results he has put out this year. And the roster decisions have been questionable all season long. This is not an evaluation season, or a talented team, or whatever other garbage Verbeek is saying. This is a complete tank season. Was built that way from the start of the year. Verbeek saw the garbage left after the trade deadline last year. Saw how awful this team was, and did absolutely nothing to help improve those results. Evaluation season is garbage. Look at the players body language, last year Zegras was having fun, smiling, laughing. Complete opposite this year. The compete level isn't there from anyone and never has been. This team went 7-18-5 after the trade deadline last year and were outscored 113-76 during that stretch, a goal differential of -37 including some nice 6-3, 6-1, and 8-3 loses. This garbage started after the trade deadline last year and Verbeek did nothing in the offseason to improve this team other then go garbage digging for guys that wouldn't play as high in the lineup as they do with the Ducks. This team was destined to fail from the get go and that is where they have succeeded. Verbeek saw how awful they were when they subtracted a few guys and basically went "if I can keep this up we get the best shot at Bedard". So Eakins stayed and he built the best losing team he could.
  20. Yet the best defenseman in the NHL right now is Cale Makar. A 5'11, 187lbs very unphysical defenseman. It's not a big mans physical, bruiser type game anymore. It's speed and transition and puck movement. The Ducks biggest problem right now is clearing their zone and if they have guys that can skate out of trouble that's a big improvement to the stand around and do nothing approach they are using now.
  21. That's the problem. He's an improvement over most of the bottom six guys. So was Tulvanen and Verbbek passed on him. I dont think he wants to improve the bottom six this year.
  22. Quite honestly the roster decisions of Pat Verbeek seemed to be to ice the worst team he could. Keeping Mahura instead of waiving him would have been better then having to play Beaulieu or White at all. Picking up Larson and Megna on waives and passing on Tulvainen who would have been better then either of those two and could have moved i to a top 6 role is baffling too. I honestly think he never wanted a good team this year and did everything he could to make sure that happened (keeping Eakins all year when there is no defensive strategy plays right into that). Any other team Eakins would have been fired months ago. At least Verbeek says all the right things that he thought they would have been competitive. If he truly thought that with the team he put together and players he picked up he should resign from being GM.
  23. So the Ducks should trade for: 1) Puljujarvi - no value to anyone. Has stated going home after this season and playing in his home country. Can't do anything playing with McDavid but lose a roster spot. So why would he be any better on the worst team in the league and then the Ducks risk losing him for nothing when he goes home. 2) Robertson - always injured. Was at one point a high prospect for the Leafs. Never stays healthy or in the lineup due to injuries. Another player that will never play as they are always hurt like Max Jones. 3) Joseph - defenseman for Pittsburgh that nobody has heard of until they played the Ducks. Ducks need a vast improvement here but Joseph is just another bottom pairing guy to plug into the lineup. Would be better then Beaulieu, bur we have enough of these guys already. Once Verbeek and new coach get the guts to let the kids play, Ducks defense should be improved (Helleson, Zellweger, Mintukov, with Drysdale, Fowler and Lacombe).
  24. So you disagree with the destined to fail. You actually expected a better team then last year with the loss of talent and lack of talent that was brought in. Yikes. Strome does not come close to Getzlaf, even last season Getzlaf in just leadership alone. None of the defenseman come close to being able to even be spoken about in comparison to Josh Manson and definitely not Hampus Lindholm. Those guys at least knew how to play the position. This team was in trouble from training camp with the lack of talent that made the opening night roster. Our hope is that the young d in juniors or college pan out.
