  1. I've had issues with Murray also, but I don't play the 20/20 hindsight card. EVERY GM makes "boneheaded trades" during their tenure. But I get it. Murray just bad. Worst trade of all.... trading Kase to Boston for Backes, a 1st round pick (Jacob Perreault) and D prospect Axel Andersson.
  2. His 8 year extension with Tampa Bay kicks in next year.
  3. Murray has already said all names are on the table except Zegras and Drysdale.
  4. Ducks have missed the playoffs 3 straight years, and haven't won a playoff series in 4. Watching the last Habs/Leafs game, I was struck by the comment Toronto has not won a playoff series in 17 years. We've been really spoiled imo. I'm as frustrated as anybody with our current situation, but realistically I didn't expect Murray/Eakins to be fired.
  5. That's why it's called being a "fan." Having had seats since day 1, I understand there's going to be "growing pains" along the way. I understand there's going to be down periods. Happens to EVERY team. As Fisix said, love my seats (which would be gobbled up in a heartbeat if I dropped them), found decent food, and made great friends over the years. Nothing like live hockey imo.
  6. Big time damaged goods. Not interested unless the price to get him drops significantly.
  7. Reading about the Eichel injury, if I were the Ducks I would take a hard pass on trading for him. Eichel wants experimental artificial disc replacement surgery, while Buffalo wants rehab and at worst disc fusion surgery if rehab fails. Problem with replacement surgery is there's no long term studies on athletics (physical players) that have had the surgery. You're talking about the neck area too, where one bad hit into the boards could be catastrophic. If there's a drop in asking from Buffalo, then I might revisit, but with the Ducks history of career ending health issues (Souray, Eaves, Despres, Kesler) I think I would look elsewhere. As far as the 2022 pick is concerned, I would think with a full season of Zegras, Drysdale, Lindholm and Manson (if still here) and new coaches on the PP, we're better by default. Throw in some expected maturation from other younger players, I don't see the Ducks as a top 5 lottery team next season. 🤞
  8. Poor Florida. I thought I heard a stat last night where they said they had not won a playoff series since 1996. Now they start off 0-2 at home in round 1.
  9. I think in the regular season Minnesota only lost 1 game against Vegas in regulation. Something like a 5-1-2 record. Great game #1.
  10. Actually, teams up against the cap and facing decisions with their UFA/RFA players could work to our advantage. We have the cap space. My only issue with players like Landeskog (not going anywhere imo), RNH, etc., is if testing the market, they're gonna want 7 years. They're at the tail ends of their prime years, and we'd have them into their mid 30's. That's why Eichel makes so much sense, but man, his injury issues have me concerned (that and the asking price).
  11. Lindholm played 18 games and Manson 23 games all season. Half of our top 4 was out over 50% of the season. Yes, we brought Drysdale up, but there was also the expected growing pains with him. I know injuries can't be predicted, but I have to believe our record would have been better with both playing the majority of the season. I don't think there would be a significant obstacle trading Gibson after this year. Maybe I'm wrong, but a 10 team NTC (assuming most teams listed are crap) doesn't seem overly problematic.
  12. If the whole article was quoted, it would have included how much Gibson loves playing for Anaheim and has zero desire to play anywhere else.
  13. Pick? If any team is going to pick, it will be Seattle.
  14. I agree with almost everything you posted (Buffalo had the worst goal differential). I just disagree with some of the players you claim "regressed." And like you said, we can disagree. Troy Terry improved. Gibson stats were similar to last year. How many games did we have the top 4D in the lineup at the same time? How many games did he start where we were missing our top 2? I don't think it's fair to list Silf. Having season ending hip surgery probably explains the "regression" more than anything. I just disagree listing injured players. Like saying Lindholm regressed. I just took exception primarily to you listing Troy Terry.
  15. Unless I'm missing something, you just contradicted your own post. On the one hand, you said "next tiebreaker is ROW..." Then you say if equal on points, "Buffalo would be ahead in the standings as they would have 1 more regulation win." If the tiebreaker is regulation AND OT wins, then what difference does it make if Buffalo has one more regulation win?
  16. Isn't the measurement Regulation/Overtime wins (instead of just regulation)? If that's the case, Buffalo has 11 while the Ducks have 15.
  17. We were there last night. Definitely had a great time.
  18. They're only 2 points ahead of the Ducks. Ducks do own the tie breaker I believe with the lowest # of regulation wins. I wouldn't celebrate just yet though. Kind of superstitious that way.
  19. I could not disagree with you more. I absolutely believe Murray and company thought the Ducks would compete for a playoff spot. I have no doubt coaches and management felt we were a top 4 team in our division going into the season.
  20. Since Buffalo will also have our pick (😛🤞) I don't think it matters. With no Lindholm, Manson (?), Lundestrom, Silf., for the foreseeable future, I don't see the Ducks finishing strong.
  21. To be fair, you were instructed to listen from the 57 minute mark (not the entire thing). If you did, you heard what Murray said to Shattenkirk (😱) regarding the team. I too will not spoil what Murray was alleged to have said. Remember, this interview was done before the season started.
