  1. This is not surprising at all, teams aren't protecting UFAs as there is no point. Washington didn't protect Ovechkin.
  2. I'm with you guys. The only way it makes sense to protect Deslauries is that Murray has a deal in place with Seattle.
  3. Shea Weber in 2012. I would like to see more offer sheets, it makes the offseason a bit more lively.
  4. I have to think he's going to get offers around $9MM for 7 years. There are reports St. Louis want him and they have the cap space to go after him, especially if they are going to move Tarasenko.
  5. The reports out there are that they are not even close to a deal with Landeskog. I thought they were just waiting until after the ED but it sounds more and more like he could walk. Vegas would have to move a lot of salary to fit Eichel on their team.
  6. I wonder how much they regret this trade now that Suter is available.
  7. Parise I'm sure will take close to league minimum to try and win a cup, much like Thornton or Spezza.
  8. He's definitely a diver. I don't mind if he plays with an edge and plays that same annoying style that Perry used to play, but I don't really want a bunch of floppers on our team. Getzlaf would probably beat it out of him.
  9. Bouchard is good. Montreal are really upset to lose him - he was a potential future NHL head coach. But they are Ducharme now that is likely going to lose the interim tag so who knows how long he would have to wait. He could get to the NHL quicker in Anaheim.
  10. Apparently Dineen's contract expired on June 30th.
  11. Kesler certainly got messed up on Toradol, but that was to try and stay in the lineup. I'm not sure why we seem to be near the top of man games lost every year, it sucks for sure.
  12. Again, I think it's pretty naïve to think they aren't already doing it. After moving to Canada and playing in some hockey leagues here with some great players (i.e. former Major Junior players) with friends in the NHL, I've found that cocaine is incredibly widespread among younger players. It's basically an open secret here. In fact there are a few NHL players in Canada that are (were - before Covid) known in hockey circles for supplying such drugs to visiting players from US teams when they were in town. I can't speak to heroin or fentanyl but cocaine is widespread.
  13. I'm not saying we should trade for him, but I think we are being naïve if we think that there are no players on the Ducks that use recreational drugs. I have no problem with it to be honest, it's not like that is performance enhancing. They shouldn't even be testing for this stuff anymore IMO. Although if anyone watched Kucherov's post-game presser last night that might be a good argument against it. Lol.
  14. Did he coach the PP on his last stint with us? I believe our best PP season was 2008-2009 and he was on the staff then.

    2021 - Final 4

I found the comments this year about how Cale Makar is the best defenseman in the league to be comical. Hedman is clearly better, and I would say Josi is too.
  16. That's a good deal for him. Long, but $5.125M per year is very reasonable. I'm sure in 8 years the cap would have gone up a bit too.

    2021 - Final 4

I can't remember where this was, it may have been on a podcast or something, but they were talking about how maybe instead of having biased media vote for NHL awards, that the players should vote for all of the awards. But the counterpoint was that the players had just done some informal voting and had decided Price was still the best goalie in the league, and this was evidence that even NHL players have no idea what they are talking about. Price still looks pretty damn good to me, lol.
  18. I think a lot of Ducks fans don't realise how lucky this team has been with goaltending. It seems like we always have that next star in the pipeline ready to go. We've gone from Giguere to Hiller to Andersen to Gibson, and now Dostal is supposed to be the next big thing. Some teams have been looking for an answer in net for the last decade or more. Buffalo since Miller left is a good example. Also look at Philadelphia - they thought they had the answer in Bryz and that was a disaster. Now they have Carter Hart who was awful last season, hopefully he turns it around.

    2021 - Final 4

The refs did their best to get Vegas to the Finals this year, yet they still couldn't do it. Choke! Vegas are the new San Jose.
  20. He's full Q-idiot on Twitter. Lol
  21. I would be targeting Reinhart as well, but he's currently on $5.2M and is arbitration eligible so he's not 1/3 the price. Maybe 2/3 the price if you're lucky.
  22. Oh man, Barkov would be an incredible add. Send Teemu to Florida to convince him to sign in Anaheim when his contract ends.
  23. I agree, and honestly I'm surprised at how negatively this possible trade is being viewed here. Eichel for Comtois, Henrique and the 3rd overall is a slam dunk trade for Anaheim in a vacuum. I'm with you that the biggest issue is definitely his health. I want to see the guy return from back surgery and still be the same elite player before I trade for him. Adding that contract and then having him put on LTIR for most of it would be an absolute dagger for a team that doesn't always spend to the cap. Any trade would have to center around the 3rd overall pick, I would think. Do you think we could convince Buffalo to take the 3rd overall, Steel/Lundestrom, Manson and another low end pick/prospect for him? I'm probably dreaming, lol.' I would rather be on a bad team in Anaheim with some hope than on a perpetually bad team in Buffalo. Though with all this talk about Eichel I would rather go after Reinhart to be honest.
  24. Just what Toronto needs, more guys that have never won anything.
  25. You're right, of course. But it is pretty unusual to see any teams make major roster moves while the playoffs are still happening.
