  1. Thanks for this, as I had not seen this reported anywhere. So Morrison and Wilford have not been 'fired' as such, but have been shunted into scouting or whatever. Good news!

    2021 - Final 4

I keep telling my friends in Edmonton that he would be a perfect add for their 4th line. They need guys that know how to win and they are expecting a big turnover in their bottom 6 this offseason. They still hate Perry from 2017 though LOL.
  3. Also the NHL season has not even ended yet...we are still pretty early into our offseason.
  4. It's strange, as he seems to get good performances out of his teams but for whatever reason wears out his welcome quickly. Makes me wonder if his players like him but he's too abrasive with management.
  5. I would love to see Tampa and Vegas miss the finals but it seems unlikely to have both underdogs win. I'm cheering for the Montreal Perrys.
  6. This would be hilarious and I'm sure the odds are pretty long. Most people are predicting/want the Vegas v Tampa match up I'm sure.
  7. I LOVE Guenther but I'm also biased as I follow the Oil Kings so have been watching this guy play since he came into the WHL. But he's got an NHL level shot already. Just a hell of a sniper and a good skater too. He's going to score 40 goals at the NHL level in a few years. Imagining him on the wing of Zegras gets me excited. He's 6'1" so not small, be he does look a little small on the ice so needs to bulk up with some more muscle and he will be ready for the NHL. Probably at least one more Junior season away.
  8. I love that we were all about finishing second to last so that we had better odds than Seattle. But then Seattle move ahead of us anyway. Lol. I would love for this team to have some good luck go their way just once.
  9. Accurate. In a normal year I wouldn't have a problem taking a defenseman in the first round even if we need forwards, as taking the best player available is the smartest draft strategy. However in a season where the scouting has been limited and the draft rankings are not as clear, this may be the one season where we should be drafting based on team need.
  10. Completely agree, and I was thinking this while watching the games. I couldn't believe he wasn't splitting up Marner and Matthews to try and spread the offense when they were struggling to score. The plan just seemed to be to load up that top line and put them out there for every offensive zone draw, but Montreal just countered by playing Weber and Chiarot every time and completely shut them down. The lack of coaching adjustments cost Toronto IMO.
  11. I was trolling through the Leafs Reddit page last night and there is a lot of support in that fanbase for trading Marner, LMAO. I'm pretty sure Nylander, Spezza and Muzzin were the only Leafs to score more than 1 goal in the series. Trading Nylander would definitely shake things up be he's one of the only guys that performed for them, so would be a pretty strange move.
  12. I think anyone except Zegras and Drysdale should be on the table, that includes Gibson if the offer is big enough.
  13. All of the speculation about the Oilers trading McDavid or Draisaitl is just nonsense from bitter Toronto based media that are still upset McDavid didn't fall to the Leafs, and resent the fact that he is better than Matthews*. There is just no chance they move either player. I also don't think this was the season that makes either player think he wants to be traded. A shortened season, Covid protocols, no crowds in the stands. Their team got swept but every game was decided by 1 goal (Game 1 was 4-1 but with 2 empty netters). They really are not that far off. If they got slightly better goaltending and Hellebuyck didn't stand on his head for Winnipeg, the result could have easily gone the other way. Adding a decent goalie must be a top priority alongside adding those wingers. Also, what team could take on McDavid's massive contract? There can't be many. A lot of money would have to go back to Edmonton - and I don't think he wants to get traded to Buffalo for Eichel. *A side note on this. Just watch how many first place MVP votes Matthews or Marner get this award season. McDavid had 35 more points than either guy, but I guarantee there will be a lot of votes for the Leafs stars just because of how biased the Toronto media is.
  14. Ilya Sorokin has now won his first 4 career playoff games. First goaltender to do that since J.S. Giguere in 2003.
  15. Too bad we couldn't boot Vegas from our division instead of Arizona, lol. You know what sucks? Every team has to give up a player to Vegas and Seattle, but the teams in the Pacific get really screwed as we have to play them with our former player 5-6 times per year. The teams in the East only play them twice. I feel like the Pacific teams should get more of the expansion money for the trouble. What also sucks is Vegas being one of the best teams in the league, yet they don't have to give up a player to Seattle.
  16. I'm in Canada, tried to watch the Florida/Tampa game last night and it's on FX which requires a subscription. I pay for the sports channels to get the sports, dammit. They had the Leafs game on like 5 of the Sportsnet channels.
  17. Only the most biased, blind Leafs fans could think that. I think most of them realize it was accidental but there are a few that think everything is a conspiracy against the Leafs. I feel bad for Perry too, I'm sure he felt bad anyway but he and Tavares are friends, so I bet he feels even worse knowing he hurt a friend that badly.
  18. What a great game though. Lots of goals, back and forth all the way. Hopefully the entire series is played like this.
  19. I agree with you about the injuries. $10M for Eichel would be fine....if he could stay healthy. But apparently he's about to have some kind of new disc replacement surgery in his back. I wouldn't want to be on the hook for $10M for a guy coming back from that kind of surgery. Is Barkov available?
  20. Yeah there's a lot to criticise Murray about but I don't think adding Perron and McGinn were part of his list of mistakes. Both were pretty good deadline pick ups for a contending team, too bad it just didn't work out.
  21. This is my thought too....Palms really took off in NJ but I have to wonder if he would have done the same in Anaheim, he was given ample opportunities but it seemed like he would never really be a high scorer. Maybe he just needed a change of scenery, and maybe not be stuck behind Corey Perry for ice time.
  22. Ah yes, you're right. I forgot about the expansion draft factor. They probably have a handshake agreement in place.
  23. Translation "The GM totally screwed up the chemistry of the team by putting one of the highly respected veterans on waivers, what an absolute clown"
  24. I would think so, but it seems a little strange that Colorado have not already locked up their captain 2 months out from free agency. That makes me think he wants to test the market and/or play elsewhere. Maybe he prefers beaches over mountains? Lol
  25. What about going hard after Landeskog instead of Eichel? He is still UFA, I am assuming he is going to test the market otherwise he would have signed with the Avs by now.
