  1. I definitely won’t shed a tear with Holtz, just worried about some issues on his game. He has a lot more holes, which is expected of a sniper. I think we’re getting a great player at 6 regardless. I just starting to like Perfetti’s complete game. I think both guys have fixable issues. Perfetti is more complete and Holtz has a disgusting shot. I think scathing might have been the wrong word I was just surprised because he had a lot more negatives than most did on Holtz
  2. From what I’ve seen it’s not that Perfetti is slow, he just lacks the acceleration and first step. I think that can be coached. He offers ALOT and is super well rounded. I think Rossi is better and if he’s available definitely go him. Perfetti has the potential to be an all around offensive player. I never watched Tavares play much, but I’ve seen that comparison a couple times. Gathering more info on Holtz makes me hesitant, he has a great shot and skates hard, that’s about it. We need someone who can score, but at 6th overall, I’m not sure how many people I like over Perfetti. Laf Byfield Stutzle Rossi/Drysdale Rossi/Drysdale then us. If Rossi slips I like his ability more than Perfetti, he’s also small and that’s not a big problem anymore, but it could be. I think you could coach Holtz to be way better, but that’s the same for anyone. What stood out to me is his ability to facilitate break outs, which the Ducks have to be the worst at especially without Fowler on the ice.
  3. I kind of stumbled further and essentially Perfetti is a breakout enabler, not the greatest skater (which is largely considered the worst part of his game and only real negative). Great passer, loves to shoot and has a good not great shot. He doesn’t force passes, he’s patient, smart. I think he might be the most polished after Drysdale. He reminds me a bit of Getzlaf, the way he holds onto the puck and looks for options. Not physical and not the greatest defensively.
  4. Maybe Perfetti and try and get Perrault late in the first. I’d be ecstatic with that. Man, I’m super excited for this draft. Get these boring playoffs over with already lol.
  5. So, gotta say. I keep getting it wrong. Found this YouTube channel Scouching. Gives a pretty in-depth look at the draft kids and he gave a pretty scrathing review for Holtz and a really good one for Perfetti.
  6. Reading mock drafts that have us taking Perfetti givr me a headache. Perfetti has talent, and IQ, but imo he’s off the Steel/Lundestrom mood, high floor low ceiling and we desperately need goals and I cannot see us passing Holtz to draft Perfetti
  7. I like Holtz a lot. Hard working, can shoot from any position, shoots often, not too bad in his own zone. I think Holtz can be a very consistent NHL guy pretty quickly with his skill set.
  8. Lots of good players in this draft. I think ending up with Drysdale/Holtz/Quinn etc is going to be huge
  9. The more I research the more I like Jack Quinn. Another pure goal scorer. Always wants to get into high danger areas. Ability to be physical, good on the boards. Stick handling.
  10. Depends. I think the most important skill right now is the ability to avoid heavy contact. Guys like Pettersson are super good at it and someone like Jack Hughes Struggled and his season was subpar. Rossi could be a star if he can avoid heavy contact with the puck and have dogged forechecking.
  11. LA getting 2 and a playoff team getting 1 is the most infuriating thing.
  12. If Holtz/Drysdale are available you have to take them, especially Drysdale. I like Rossi, but idk if he has the scoring ability that we need. Two way guy and I think we’re pretty good down the middle, unless it’s a Byfield type star quality guy. Holtz/Drysdale is dream imo.
  13. I think Drysdale could fall. Ottawa is pretty set on their D and need forward help BAD. I could see them with Stutzle/Byfield/Rossi. Although I don’t know if Detroit passes on Drysdale. I would much rather have Holtz than Raymond/Perfetti. If Holtz isn’t available I’d rather just reach for Quinn honestly. Perfetti is a worse Zegras imo. Raymond is good, just not super high on him.
  14. I also wouldn’t exactly be shocked if the Kings take Drysdale, they are loaded upfront with prospects and have tons of centers. I could see Stutzle/Byfield going 3-4 which would leave Raymond, Holtz, Rossi, Perfetti for us.
  15. I think Drysdale is probably the most polished. I was down on him, but doing my research kid has some SLICK wheels. Maybe not as explosive as Makar, but I don’t think taking him would be the worst idea, he can skate. Holtz, Raymond, Drysdale have to be the ones for me.
  16. its time for the, “I don’t know enough about the Ducks and don’t want to learn” mock drafts. Can’t imagine picking Perfetti over Raymond and Holtz.

Don’t get me wrong, we’re getting a great player at 6. It’s just annoying that we’ve never had a shot at drafting 1. Kind of crazy that we’ve built such a consistently great team for so long considering we never drafted first overall.

I believe that’s the ruling on that, yes

I love Holtz. Could really mesh with Zegras

So this guarantees Drysdale to the Ducks then

So, Black Hawks or Oilers get the first round pick? Classic NHL

Man, hoping we’d get lucky, but we’re the Ducks.
  23. I’m not talking about competing I’m talking about our team finding success with the kids we have. I don’t see a realistic path to what you’re asking. Who’s the defensemen we trade for? Who do we trade that the team would want? The clearest path is from internally. This rebuild is going to be 100% reliant on who we have now and what we have now. We want a PM D man it’s probably going to be Drysdale. Our RW will have to be Comtois/Terry developing.
  24. I think you have to bank on Rakell finding his groove, it’s not like he’s not getting chances, it’s just no bounces. I think Rakell can bounce back to 25-30 easy imo. Terry/Jones/Comtois/Steel taking the big step. Milano And Heinen haBe been producing. I think BM has kind of created a logjam of good not great players. Maybe we ship our Rico, but again your depending on Steel to take the next step and Zegras being able to immediately make an impact in the NHL.
  25. I’m just not sure who you ship out and who you add that makes the line up any better? Adding another winger creates an even bigger jam for Comtois who’s probably making his case for being up right now. We’re kind of stuck with Backes. Maybe move Rowney, slot Jones on the 4th (which I think he deserves better) and slot Comtois on the third with Steel/Silf
