  1. I hope so. He's allowed to throw 2 guys under the bus. Himself and Eakins. Or he should redeem himself by having an extremely solid summer but I seriously doubt that.
  2. 7-1 is ridiculous. That top line is ridiculously good. I know there's a lot of Boston haters on this forum but I'd love to see an Avs - Bruins final just to see Rantanen - MacKinnon - Landeskog go head to head with Marchand - Bergeron - Pastrnak.
  3. I still think the leafs come out on top because of offensive firepower but they´re not doing themselves any favors. Questionable move to keep sandin out of the line-up after a costly mistake only to see the guy who draws in for him making the same mistake. Talk about confidence. I enjoy seeing Perry causing havoc. If toffoli has found his scoring touch back and if Price stands on his head this could go either way but I still think leafs. I gotta say it would be priceless (no pun intended) to see the leafs give this one away.
  4. I´d hate to see Lundestrom or Mahura go. I think we can expose Silfverberg and that he won´t get picked because of contract and surgery. If BM doesn´t have a deal in place and Manson is exposed I think it´s him.
  5. I can´t stand BM anymore. Talk about throwing players under the bus while you bring in one of the worst coaches in the league. Seems everybody is responsible except him. Best part is him saying I don´t know what´s wrong. You´re the GM, you have to know. Basically he´s saying I don´t know what I´m doing. If I were Rakell I´d gladly leave this team. Watch him light it up on any team as long as it´s not The Ducks. BM has become a joke. I can handle one extra year of sucking as long as players (Rakell, Gibson) don´t ask to leave because of it and that we end up with a good draft pick. Then I hope BM finally walks or gets fired.
  6. Set on fire might be more like it. No way they take that deal. I do like the idea of going after Laine. I know he has a reputation but we need goal scoring badly and he does that. Teemu wasn't a defensive juggernaut either.
  7. The only way to get out from under neal's contract is to take on a bad contract in return or to retain. That's not going to free up enough salary to sign a good top 6 winger. They only have 8 forwards signed for next season. That's good in the sense that you have a lot of options but you also have to fill out a huge portion of your roster. They have 35 mil invested in McDavid, Draisaitl, Neal, Kassian & Nurse. I don't know what the cap projects to be but I thought it was going to be something like 81 mil. That leaves 46 mil to put the rest of their roster together. They already carry 2 mil in dead cap space from sekera and lucic. That neal contract blows chunks but by dealing Draisaitl they won't add negative value. Or a RNH sign and trade but that hardly ever happens. Holland is going to have a busy summer.
  8. I'm happy. I was already getting nervous. Good job Canes. Now I'd also like to see toronto go out.
  9. I can't see them moving McDavid right away but at some point you have to start making moves. They're no closer to The Cup than they were 4 years ago and that team is a mess. They do have a lot of contracts expiring the coming 1-2 years but they have lots of things to figure out. If I'm oilers management I start taking calls on Draisaitl. They could command a pretty package for him and they should do it before someone says they want out. See the Pronger situation. I can see an Eichel situation unfolding where McDavid and/or Draisaitl say he/they want out. That would be a disaster. Does anybody know what's going on with Jonathan Drouin? I know he has personal issues. I guess it's more a mental thing than a physical issue but if he gets it together again is he someone we should be interested in? I don't know whether he's bothered by playing in the pressure cooker that is Montreal but that's an issue he won't have in Anaheim. I'd like to take a gamble on him.
  10. How about those Jets? i gotta say I'm very surprised they beat the oilers, especially in 4. If the leafs make it, which they probably will, that might be a decent series. You always think about Marner, Matthews, Tavares, Nylander,... but Scheifele, Wheeler & Connor aren't bad either. Not to mention they got Dubois and Ehlers back the other night. Stastny and Perreault a bit further down the depth chart. If Hellebuyck and the Jets D can keep it together I'm very curious to see what happens.
  11. Slipped my mind. Sometimes you forget there was a normal world out there not so long ago. I can´t say I´m gonna miss them in our division. Although they are fun to watch.
  12. Seeing the leafs lose is always funny but you don't want to see that. Tavares was out. Sucks for Perry too because many leafs fans think it's intentional but I really can't believe that.
  13. You have every right to. Thanks for the clarification.
  14. Vegas is not the only problem. Have you seen Colorado move the puck on the PP? MacKinnon is an absolute beast. Best contract in the NHL. This teams needs an identity. Stop trying to copy what worked the years prior (for other teams). Sure it's a fast skilled game but you still need big bodies who aren't afraid to take a hit.
  15. Marchand is a sneaky little weasel but IMO not such a downright dirty and dangerous player as wilson is ( although licking someone during COVID can be considered dangerous as well). I don't follow hockey that closely if it's not The Ducks but I've seen many posters on this board throughout the years who had issues with Boston. I don't know where that hate comes from. It can hardly be hockey rivalry related no? Now I see you having issues with all Boston teams 😁 I'm not from around but my wife and I visited New England - including Boston - 2 years ago and we loved it. Especially Boston which we both found to be a great city. So go Bruins for me.
  16. Couldn't agree more. He's too big of a risk. I'd rather go after Reinhart and hold onto that 2022 pick.
  17. I feel bad for Florida. They were so bad for so many years and are now finally turning the corner. They play one hell of a season to get rewarded with a match-up against Tampa Bay. If all goes well they'll probably have to go through the Canes. On top of that they lost their best (or one of the best) player(s) to a season ending injury. BTW I really hope the NHL walks away from those interdivisional Playoffs one day. I've never liked it. The 3rd best team should play the 6th best team regardless of what division they play in.
  18. Palmieri scored 154 points after he left but would he have done the same if he had stuck around. I always felt he didn't make the most of it in Anaheim. And we've seen players leaving here and putting up more points elsewhere countless times. (That's something to think about.) I don't remember our situation back then. BM said something along the lines of we can't keep him anyway so I have to move him. That may not have been the best strategy but valuewise I think BM did okay. Having said this it's time to move on from him.
  19. As usual I root against certain teams. I don't have to bother about calgary this year but surprisingly enough the predators made it. So go Hurricanes. I'd also find it hilarious should toronto not make it. Their fans are too cocky for not having won anything in over 50 years. I have a soft spot for the Avs and I'd love to see the Isles go far.
  20. Landeskog en RNH are great players but they're not the kind we need. If we're looking to get a lot better by adding a big name it has to be a bonafide superstar. We're talking McDavid, Rantanen, Mackinnon, Draisaitl, Marner, ... Those guys almost never become available. Eichel appears to be one but it looks like his neck issue is a rather big one. Not to mention we'd have to sell the farm. I'd rather BM go after Reinhart and then ride out one more season in the hopes of getting a very good prospect in the 2022 draft. If we can stay healthier and our young guys have a bit more experience there's no reason for us to suck as bad as we did this year. A new coaching staff on the other hand would go a long way.
  21. Funny how Eakins mentions they missed the fans. I think he should be glad because it would have rained boo's every night.
  22. Earlier in the season there wouldn't be a doubt in my mind to give up that package for Eichel. Comtois will never become the player Eichel is but seeing him later in the season made me doubtful. He can score which is something we desperately need. He clicked with Rakell and later with Terry and Zegras. There's no point in getting Eichel if we don't have somebody who can score. As for Groulx, his 29 points in 39 games is pretty good and he's playing well defensively too. I think he might be a gem. I hate losing. Getting Eichel would help that. But Eichel is elite and to get that kind of talent you have to give up something of value. If the kings can offer turcotte we won't beat that offer with Comtois I think. So if we suck for one more year we might get a high pick in that deep 2022 draft. That would give us Zegras (who hopefully becomes as good as Eichel), Drysdale, Comtois and that 2022 prospect. Combine that with the veteran presence of Lindholm, Fowler, Gibson and Rakell and that's a pretty good core. I think it's safe to say that we have future NHL'ers in Dostal, Mahura, Lundestrom and hopefully Groulx. That's not too shabby IMO. I left out Jones, Steel and Terry because their future is cloudy as far as I'm concerned. They're not bad but they're nothing special either (although I still have hope for Terry).
  23. They have brown coming off the books in 22-23. If they can trick buffalo into taking quick (with retention) it's not that crazy. The kings sure have the prospects to pull of such a move. Same for the rangers. The sabres will be looking for the best pacakge. If the rangers can offer that I'm pretty sure the sabres won't have a problem with Eichel going to the Rangers. Too bad we don't have young talent to give up (don't want to lose Drysdale, Zegras and Comtois). And if I'm buffalo I'd ask for one of those 3.
  24. Excellent goalie. I'm glad to have had him on our team. Too bad he's never won The Cup but an amazing career nonetheless. Thanks for everyting and best of luck. Hopefully the team and the fans can give him a proper goodbye next season.
  25. For a team starving for goals having Sprong would be nice, even if he can't play defense to save his life. There's something serioulsy wrong in Anaheim. Look at the indivudual stats. That's abysmal stuff. Meanwhile you have Perry performing way better than ever was expected in Anaheim. Same for Ritchie. Okay they play on better teams but every single guy on this team is reaching career lows. Even Hakanpaa has 2 goals already in Carolina. I don't think he scored for us. Would I love to have Boudreau back. Sure we might lose a game 7 but we'd at least be in The Playoffs and we'd be fun to watch.
