  1. Also worst shot differential, worst scoring change differential, near the bottom in both power play and penalty kill. It's really bad accross the board.
  2. With the Canuck's win tonight the Ducks are now last in the division, last in the conference, and last in the entire league. At what point does GMPV replace Dallas Eakins? Clearly his message is not getting through to the players.
  3. No interest in Tkachuk. The guy is a dirt bag. Ducks would be wise to spend their cap space somewhere else.
  4. I think Malkin made it seem like he was going to UFA status in order to exert the most leverage on Pittsburgh. That's my guess anyway. I'm not optimistic that GMPV is going to be able to sign anyone noteworthy. Gaudreau will be available but what I am reading is he wants to play close to home in the East. Calgary supposedly offered him 8 years at 10+ million. He definitely has a team in mind and It isn't the Ducks. Looking at the possible UFAs I just don't see anyone to get excited about. MAYBE GMPV can work a decent trade. Won't hold my breath though.
  5. Milano and Larson surprise me. Looks like GMPV has some definite plans.
  6. My two cents: Ducks need to add two top 4 defenseman at the bare minimum. They need to sign a solid mid-career forward with name recognition. Someone who is above average but not necessarily a super star. GMPV needs to find a dedicated pylon to stand in front of opposing goalies and at least one enforcer to keep the younger emerging players safe. Too many cheap shots went unanswered last season. Ducks need to make a decision on whether to extend Silfverberg or cut him loose. Finally I don't like that GMPV has decided to keep Eakins. I only hope his plan is to burn this season building up the roster and when the Ducks are competitive he goes and gets a real coach.
  7. From 2007 to about 2010 the wallpaper on my computer sceen was a photo of Getzlaf hoisting the Cup. So I am sad to see him hang it up but thankful for all the great hockey he played for the Ducks.
  8. Saw a panel with Kevin Bieksa on it and he said this was somehow justified since Zegras was showing off.

  10. Seems like the Ducks are going to go through the motions while they tank the last 20 games. I don't mind losing Manson so much but Lindholm really hurts. Based on what he signed for in Boston it seems clear he wanted to move on. Ducks could have matched those terms easily. Losing Delauries and Rakell I get but still don't like.
  11. My friends and I were discussing this the other night. By the time the team is a serious contender again Gibson will be several years older. Better to move him while he has value and get some first round picks or top prospects that can develop along with the Ducks until they are competing again.
  12. Biggest issue for the Duck's playoff chances is the fact that Calgary and Edmonton have so many games in hand and both teams have been winning games. Both teams have seven games in hand on the Ducks and LA and Vegas have two games in hand. If all these teams earn half the points available to them: Vegas - 59 points - Calgary -57 points La -55 points -.576% Ducks - 55 points - .573% Edmonton -54 points Ducks are barely in the #2 wild card spot. I'm not saying the Ducks can't make the playoffs but it is going to be difficult even if they finish strong through the remainder of the season. Still I'm happy with the improvement the Ducks have made in much of their game. Still work to do though.
  13. So no punishment for the hit on Lundestrom? I don't know of a clearer example of head hunting. Lauzon lead with his elbow, hit Lundestrom in the jaw while leaving his feet to make the hit. Thanks Parros.
  14. It is going to be interesting to see how proactive Murray's permanent replacement will be. I don't really like the idea of a new GM coming in and decimating the roster to create his vision overnight. Though maybe we'll have some excitement around free agency now. Just sorry the staff and players had to endure the alleged abuse for so many years.
  15. We'll just have to wait and see but it doesn't look good. I have no idea who Solomon is so do not know what we should expect over the next few weeks/months. Doubt there are any big changes for the roster at this point.
  16. Noticed we can no longer see how many upvotes we have. And our posting "titles" i.e. "superfan" etc is gone. Not liking it at all. My world is shattered.
  17. From what I understand (may easily be wrong) Bally's Sports is ONLY on Direct TV. So other than the 11 games on ESPN, and the handful on KDOC the rest of the games will only be available on a sports network only available on Direct TV. What a great way to build a fanbase. Make it impossible for most fans to actually watch the team they follow. Never understood why you could never watch in market games(i.e. Ducks) on NHL Live when you were paying extra for the service. The idea that the games would not sell out because you could watch it at home always seemed dumb to me. Especially since until this season every game was broadcast on Fox Sports/KDOC. As of 2018 the population of Orange County was 3.19 million people. How many seats in the Honda Center? 17K ? Doing the math, they are blocking local viewing in order to guarantee 0.005329 of the population go to the game instead. And that's assuming all 3.19 million residence are both NHL fans and Ducks fans. P.S. Gotta love how NHL.com still has the old standings up two days before the regular season starts.
  18. Now the Sabres are admitting surgery is needed. But they want Eichel to get the neck fusion surgery, not the disc replacement surgery that Eichel wants. My limited understanding of the CBA is that Eichel is compelled to go with the team's recommendations for treating all injuries. So I see three scenarios: 1) Eichel gets the neck fusion surgery(not likely), goes through recovery and he get's traded once the team can present him as a healthy player. 2) Eichel refuses to get the fusion and his playability is delayed even further. At this point the Sabre's can suspend him without pay until he does comply. Eichel will lose millions of dollars. 3) Eichel gets the disc replacement surgery against the wishes of the Sabres. Buffalo can declare breach of contract and nullify the remainder of Eichel's contract. Is there any other possibility not including a trade before Eichel's injury is resolved?
  19. Eichel met with the Sabre's GM two days ago. I'm speculating he was given an ultimatum to proceed with the spinal fusion surgery. He's sticking to his guns and decisions have consequences. Odds are better than not he's played his ;last game as a Buffalo Sabre.
  20. Either GMBM is A) Completely incapable of brokering a trade or enticing a UFA to come to Anaheim or B) He is determined to do nothing to improve this team in the short term. I'm leaning toward option B. I think he has decided to continue to play this crop of disappointing prospects for the next two seasons until Zegras and Drysdale develop into full fledge NHL players. Until then he is going to sit on his hands and drink his beer.
  21. I've wondered that myself and somewhere on this thread I think I even said as much. No player wants to be perceived to be a bad apple and if true it would give Eichel a way to exit without looking a jerk or basically telling the Sabres fanbase that he has no faith the team will be winning a cup anytime soon.
  22. Then who did? Bob? I was under the impression it was Eakin .
  23. What irks me is both Bonino and Cogs were available and they both went to San Jose. I'm also surprised Henrique is still on the team as it was clear Eakin wanted him gone. But I'm not nearly as ready to give up on Rakell or Lindholm as you seem to be at this point .
