  1. what's stopping Buffalo from retaining some of Eichel's salary in a trade?
  2. it would suck if Eichel went to the Vegas or any other team in the Ducks' division.
  3. Good for Perry. Was hoping he would return to the Ducks for a farewell season. Maybe next year.
  4. People in NHL radio said Getzlaf and GMBM are not even close on a deal and that Getzlaf will most likely go UFA tomorrow. Sad day if that happenes.
  5. During those years the Ducks dominated on the faceoff. They had the most overtime wins in the league. They would crush opponents with their dump and chase forechecking. Then the league Changed faceoffs, changed the icing rules, and introduced the three man overtime. All of which impacted the Ducks more than any other team. Many hockey fans say the shootout is too gimmicky, I would argue the three man overtime is much worse. My point being too many rules have been changed for the Ducks from 2013-2015 to do as well as they did then. If that makes sense?
  6. I'm not well informed regarding all of the 21 draft prospects. But it doesn't matter. Barstool Bob is going to use the 3rd overall selection to pick a stay at home defenseman. He can't help himself it's in his DNA.
  7. I've seen a couple of pundits say Seattle is taking Mahura.
  8. If Eichel has a limited NMC there is no way he comes to the Ducks. If he gets traded it will be to a team he believes can contend for a Cup now. Not four seasons from now. Vegas have a better chance of landing Eichel.
  9. Yeah, I forgot he moved over there. 🙄
  10. It all depends on what GMBM would have to trade in order to acquire either one. Eichel has some serious risks. We don't know how serious his neck injury is, or if he can ever play again at the level he did prior to sustaining it. We don't even know if Eichel's push for surgery is a legitimate desire or just a tool to help himself break away from the Sabres without telling their fans the team sucks. The latter would explain how Buffalo is still demanding such a high price for a player who may never fully recover. They may know they injury issue is just a tool by Eichel to leave and everyone save face. I just don't want Murray to give away either Zegras or Drysdale. I'm okay if it costs the Duck's the #3 pick as this draft is such a crap shoot. Throw in one or two of the following (Steel, Jones, Terry) and maybe Henrique (only because we already know the coach doesn't like him). Also Buffalo would need to retain at least $5M of Eichel's salary for the next two or three seasons. Anything more asked of the Ducks and I would say pass. I'm not as versed about Laine. It would just come down to how much the Jets would be asking for him. Again Zegras and Drysdale must be off the table.
  11. Montreal. Perry deserves another Cup.
  12. I never root for Canndian teams over American teams on principle. But I have to admit I was cheering for the Habs. I'm hoping they can pull it off and get Perry his second Cup. It would even the scales a little bit when we live in a world where Justin Penner, Patrick Maroon and the dirtbag Justin Schultze all have two Cups and players like Perry, Getzlaf and Selanne only have one.
  13. I can't see Eichel coming to the ducks. Not without GMBM trading Zegras or Drysdale or both. Even then I don't think Eichel would waive his no trade to come to the Ducks. Plus it seems CBH has a deal already coming together.
  14. The Refs in the playoffs have been gutless cowards. Players are tackling each other on open ice away from the puck but these refs refuse to call ANYTHING! I find it really disgusting. I hate the "Let them Play" attitude in the playoffs. If something is a penalty in October it should be a penalty in June. Period! I think it is Bull S H I T . It puts teams built around speed and finesse at a huge disadvantage when suddenly opponents can use tactics that were illegal a few weeks before. Perry has ever right to be upset. Vegas player just tomahawked him like a lumberjack and he wasn't even close to the puck. I'll say it again, the refs are cowards.
  15. My concern with Eichel is whether or not he will be the same player he was before the injury. By the sound of things his career might be done depending on how severe the injury is and if the surgery he wants will restore him to his earlier level of play. I would hope GMBM would be smart enough to make Buffalo retain a huge chunk of that 10M salary as well. And when exactly would the trade happen? Before the expansion draft? If so that would be one more person to protect.
  16. Part of me wants the Habs to win against Vegas if only to give Perry a chance at another cup. If Perry wasn't on that team I'd be routing for Vegas 100%. I'm a long time Tampa fan but part of me would like to see the Isles get to the finals.
  17. Gotta hand it to the GK. They were outplayed for most of the game but gutted out the win. That Colorado goal t the end of the first was crazy.
  18. Crazy, but I'm happy for Perry. He had a nice exchange with Perreault during the handshake. You could tell they're still good friends.
  19. So who do we think Murray will draft with the third pick?
  20. We know Ducks will not pick less than fourth. But knowing Ducks' luck they will get second and Arizona will win first. But because Arizona cannot win first the NHL will redraw the lottery if that happens. Then the Rangers and Hawks will get first and second and the Ducks will get fourth.
  21. Yes Toronto choked in classic Sharks fashion, but you have to give the Habs credit. They clearly wanted it more. Say what you want about their near collapse in games 5 & 6 but tonight they were the better team. Great to see Perry get some much deserved respect. Carey Price stole some games. Not even a Habs fan I'm just happy that Toronto and Edmonton (the self appointed contenders) are both out.
  22. Their (Oilers)system consists of Mc Jeesus trying to skate fast up the middle into the zone.. They were winning that game until Archibald took out that Jets player by targeting his knees. Entire momentum changed at that point. The Oilers completely choked from that point forward. The look on McDavid's face when the Jets scored in overtime was priceless. It reminded me of something... what was it? Oh Yeah!.......https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XTbWk-fxMIs&ab_channel=NHL
