  1. I'm sorry but it's because of this I can't get behind what you're saying. You're essentially talking about throwing the game on purpose. It's unprofessional and quite honestly disgusting. If the players even dared to do this they all need to go. I'm all for a top pick but I suggest you don't suggest this anymore.
  2. I think Getzy has mentioned in many interviews that he's more of an old school kind of guy. I don't think he's going to retire this year. I think he'd want to pass the torch so to speak just as Neidermayer once passed it to him. Like he'd want to leave the organization knowing he contributed to the future and leaves it in good hands. I think that's his intention. So I believe he'll play for another year at least. After that, I think depending on what kind of a year we'll have and if he's enjoying the game he might consider staying longer if we're sniffing the playoffs but if we have another really bad year he's likely considering retiring then. He's not the kind of player who's going to leave the team high and dry for next year to just figure it out. He's a leader and like I said, apart from the new generation of players around the league, he's going to stick around to pass it to the kids to help them moving forward. Guys just don't have that kind of mindset these days with all the trade requests. Getzy isn't like that. He stays for another year at least. After that who ever is our next captain will have something to follow. I don't think Zegras is our captain, at least for now, ridiculous to even consider it I think. He hasn't even played a full season. With time, sure but I just can't see the team giving it to him now.
  3. I felt like they should have done a proper send off for him as well. If the ducks don't win anymore games this year I won't be too upset, but they better win it for Miller. I'd like to see him go off on a winning note. Come on ducks give him the send off he deserves!
  4. Uh Bobby Ryan says hello. We won the cup without him even though he was chosen 2nd overall...
  5. It's no secret that Bob thought we could compete for the playoffs. I was just interested in how Shatty worded it. It sounded like Bob after two down years of a "rebuild" wanted to start winning which is why he brought him in. I think it's been fairly obvious from the beginning that this team just wasn't that good. So either our gm has rose colored glasses or we're just not seeing something he's seeing. Either way it's concerning. This team doesn't have much direction right now. But what seems to be the case is that Bob understands that he needs results and soon. That might be very bad for our future depending on what he decides to do. Or our owners are pressing Bob, which again depending on what he does from here on out will affect our team good or bad.
  6. Lol you listened to the whole thing? I skipped almost everything waiting to hear anything on Anaheim. From the 57 minute mark is where it's actually relevant to the team.
  7. I haven't watched the Getzy interview yet. But listen from the 57 min mark and I heard it loud and clear what BM had planned.... yikes. No spoilers, you gotta hear it for yourself. Also note that there's a good amount of swearing. Edit: this is an interview before the season started but they just uploaded it.
  8. Oh Haha Seattle. Does this g20 guy even do that hockey?🤣
  9. Interesting, would Vegas pick him up if he's left unprotected? And what are the rules regarding injured players for the expansion draft? If I'm Vegas, would I risk picking a player who might not return 100%? I hope he makes a full recovery but now I'm wondering if this could alter our protection list.
  10. Is this another Kesler type situation? I sure hope not.
  11. You seem to have missed the biggest point which was Vegas has ZERO cap space. I'm not even sure what you're arguing anymore.
  12. You're assuming that Bob could trade him for anything when in actuality he has a nmc. We don't know for sure under what circumstances he was willing to move so there's no point I'm arguing that. Getzy is the heart and soul of the team to give him away for peanuts is about the dumbest thing anyone could do. Moving forward we need leadership that he obviously provides. He no longer needs to put up big points and he's just not an elite player anymore but he's not washed up. He's going to take a pay cut but for 1.5 mill? Lol if we flat out low ball him like that no one will ever sign here.
  13. Again, it age has nothing to do with it. What is he going to be the gm until his deathbed? Plenty of gms don't get to see the team they've assembled because they got fired. Brian Burke is one example. Everyone still recognized they were the ones who built the team. Now pressure from management might force him to make moves even he might not like.
  14. This doesn't make sense. What does him being older than some GM's have to do with whether we rebuild or not? He's impatient to try to win a cup? I'm pretty sure we're not winning anything soon regardless if we rebuild or not.
  15. We're actually doing that right now I think with guys like agozino (sp?), de leo, Carrick, etc. Milano is a decent player. I forgot about welinski when I saw him in the last game. We also have Guhle, where is he? He's gotta be better than Larsson right? We have too many forwards and too many defensemen. Bob knows there's a team limit? We have Backes sitting in the press box watching games for most of the season. I expect that we're going to see a lot of shuffling of players, especially now with injuries, where we're going to see more gulls brought up to see what they got. This off season should, and hopefully for all our sanity sake, be a major shake up. I'm down for giving anyone a shot at this point. Stolarz has taken this opportunity to show that he might be our backup so guys are still playing for jobs.
  16. I was rooting for him to get it. He has been pretty noticable, at least this last game, even though the team played pretty bad getting straight dominated the 2nd and 3rd period. I actually like him, he's hungry and you can see that he's taking this opportunity and trying to make the most out of it. Really good pickup so far.
  17. Doubtful that he'd get taken but would be great if they chose him. He probably satisfies the requirement for a goalie to be exposed though.
  18. Sounds like a plan to me!👍
  19. Sorry to bump an old thread but the gdt is closed and didn't want to start a new topic. Apparently Stolarz has actually broken the ducks record for most shots against for a shut out. Looks like it's possible we found our backup for next season.
  20. That's what sucks to be honest. Watching teams get picks for space was depressing.
  21. Because those guys all have more than one season on their contracts besides Manson, who I did say was more likely to move. Teams are loading up for playoff runs and guys who have a lot of term left usually aren't the prime targets. I get that teams did trade players with term but I get the sense that we just weren't getting the kind of offers we wanted. What, should we trade guys for 2nd and 3rd round picks? I was expecting more moves to be made but I'm not going to complain because teams might have low balled us, we don't know for sure but maybe in the coming days we'll hear the fallout. So yes, it's possible we might get better offers in the off season because teams have more flexibility. Nothing strange about that.
  22. You could argue these guys would be an instant upgrade to our roster. But do we really want the wins?🤔
  23. Those aren't really the kind of players who are moved at the deadline though. They're more off season moves. But I'd be happy if we were able to move them now though but aside from Manson the other three are less likely.
  24. I'm pretty sure most teams have some kind of no trade for their top players.
  25. Getzy does talk a little about the future and his impact on the team.
