  1. Looking over the Rangers cap, situation they don’t have any good options to move. Goodrow is it and I don’t think that’ll be easy to do. Their entire bottom six and bottom pairing is guys on 1 year league minimum on contracts basically. How many guys can you sell off without stripping your roster. They’re trying to contend, so they’re not going to trade one of their big guns. I don’t think they can buy Goodrow out so you sell low or pay to move Goodrow out to resign Laf? This is seriously something Verbeek should consider.
  2. I’m not sure. Maybe you can sell him on getting a bigger role on the team and a more fair shot to develop. My question would be is if New York jumps through all those hoops essentially for their 3rd/4th line LW. It’s still a good opportunity to weaponize cap space to bring in some talent. Make ‘em sweat a little bit at least.
  3. If you offer 4 Million AAV you give up a second round pick, it would put NYR 2 million over the cap with no real options to get under outside of moving Goodrow who has an M-NTC and makes 3.6 million a year for 4 more years. You get a top 6 LW who’s 21 with first overall pedigree and go from there.
  4. I imagine, reading between the lines. They moved Stothers so that he can keep insurance and/or stay on the payroll so he can receive treatment. I doubt he’ll be doing much.
  5. Ducks should offer sheet Lafrenierre, but NHL GM’s are cowards
  6. I wonder what Brandon Hagel would cost, maybe next offseason when he’s an RFA. I don’t think Tampa can afford him.
  7. I think Stothers was moved to some nebulous role somewhere else
  8. Apparently he’s Tage Thompson’s Dad, maybe seeds being planted 👀. Joking, but I don’t know anything or how to even assess an assistant coach, outside of maybe special teams, so interested to see how this goes.
  9. 4 years at 5.5 million for a 30 point player is not it
  10. Josh Anderson is interesting, he can be so dominant, but just absolutely invisible for weeks and weeks of a season. I think for that reason he’s not a Verbeek guy. 4 years is a lot, more than the Ducks should be taking on.
  11. 1 week of no free agency news and we’re all sitting here talking about trading Zegras. Save us Pat Verbeek!
  12. I have zero clue what they’re doing now. It seems they’re just a hodgepodge of rentals and like 300 draft picks.
  13. I’m not interested in Dumba for anything more than 1 year. If he comes here and performs like 19/20 Dumba then sure, then you can pay him. But absolutely not now, especially with the bevy of defensive talent coming in the next 1-3 years.
  14. I mean he’s been pretty bad for 3 years on a relatively good team.
  15. My concern is that Dumba has been pretty bad for going on 3 years now.
  16. I can tolerate just about anyone on a one year deal. Maybe the market forces him to take a 1 year deal, it seems to have forced some other names to take shorter deals. I’m fine with Dumba short term.
  17. Just sign Tatar already. I’d much rather not sign Dumba. At this point I’d rather get looks at Helleson and Lacombe, then you have Zellweger and Mintyukov in the wings. Dumba probably raises the floor, and not having him makes the team worse, I would rather be a little worse and play the kids.
  18. So many things we have zero clue about go into things like this, I don’t blame Verbeek, just sucks we couldn’t make it happen. Hopefully someday soon we can get someone to commit to this team from the outside, especially someone that can score a goal.
  19. On to the next pipe dream! William Nylander here we come!
  20. Funny thing, I generally try and catch 1 game a year. I live in Arizona, so the last two games I’ve been at was the Beagle v Terry incident game and the Stecher meltdown game. So I generally like to see them play the Coyotes.
  21. Last season was borderline traumatic, did you guys have any memorable moments? I was chuckling remembering Ryan Strome’s fight with Brady Tkachuk, the way he turns around sees who he has to fight looks dejected than tries to get a head of it and throw a punch.
  22. I wouldn’t mind taking a swing on Zadina, I’m always a fan of giving shots to guys like him. Ducks rarely ever does, but 1 year prove it deal could be interesting.
