  1. I was watching highlights, he scores in a lot of different ways. He’s not shy about getting to the front of the net, has a rocket of a snap shot, nice one time. He plays well in transition, his knock on EP was he’s a bit indecisive, but they called him the most improved WHL player. He has some moxie, there’s a video of him getting crushed into the boards on a PP, clearly shaken up, he gets up and rockets one home. Love the energy and excitement, I’m really rooting for him
  2. Soucy and Graves are going to get PAID, they’re the best FA options. This FA is terrible and I think they should probably avoid handing out a lot of money to guys like that Foote/Bear are low money bets, which could have a high payout, if they don’t work whatever, give some depth, allow Zellweger and Mintyukov some time to get their feet wet. I get that you want those big moves, but outside of an unforeseen trade I think raising the floor adding some bottom 6 talent, maybe some depth on D and go from there is much smarter
  3. An offseason of Yamamoto Foote/Bear Pius Suter would make me feel satisfied. Some high upside bets, raise the floor and insulate some of the high end talent with decent depth shots
  4. Ethan Bear Kailer Yamamoto Rasmus Asplund Cal Foote mare all guys who didn’t get qualified or were bought out. I don’t think there’s any logical high end moves to be made in FA, but maybe some moves to raise the floor
  5. Ethan Bear had shoulder injury at the World’s and will be out a while however
  6. He’s good, and if you need a couple defensemen you can do a lot worse
  7. “Undisclosed Injury” is the only thing I can find in a cursory glance.
  8. I would absolutely take a 1-2 year shot on Yamamoto
  9. Ethan Bear Travis Dermott not getting qualifying offers. I would take both.
  10. When discussing Carlsson with over Fantilli, people keep looking for behind the scenes for reasons. It was a closer race than people seen to understand, then Carlsson went and outplayed Fantilli in two straight tournaments, played top line against men in the SHL and put up one of the best SHL seasons by a draft eligible player in 20 years. Verbeek and Madden said this that the fact Carlsson is great in all three zones, centered Sweden’s top line and looked great doing it was one of the factors that pushed him over the top.
  11. I was dead wrong about Gaucher who has been panning out pretty great so far. I’ll give room to Myatovic to prove me wrong.
  12. lots of really cool stories and guys you can’t help but root for in this draft class. Carlsson as someone who’s overcome a stutter Terrance is native and seems to be a very good representative for that community Clara as the first Italian goaltender drafted Sidorov being passed up last year by the Ducks, going back to juniors, killing it, getting drafted by the Ducks the next year
  13. He could. I’m not really a fan of the AHL for development
  14. looking at Sidorov highlights, he scores in a lot of different ways. He has a laser of shot, cleans up rebounds, lethal on the rush. I’m excited, the kid seems so stoked to be here.
  15. Madden has for a good job, these guys get paid a lot of money to do things. They have access to a lot more information than we do. Anaheim’s prospect system is one of the best in the league, I think they’ve earned some trust.
  16. Wouldn’t be surprised if he gets 9 games and goes back to the SHL.
  17. My biggest issue with Myatovic is upside. I think you should draft for upside, I think getting bottom six wingers is easy, but they picked a lot of upside with every other pick. Im very happy for the most part.
  18. Ring able to move the puck effectively is the most important trait a defensemen can have in my opinion. Being big and strong is cool, but If you can’t get the puck out of the zone and crest transition opportunities you’re really limiting your team when you’re on the ice.
