  1. So I know jot a lot of people are not into this on this board. a 6th round pick got St. Louis Kevin Hayes at 3.5 million. I would trade a 6th to Vancouver for Garland at that price tag. also Duclair’s name is being bandied around as a trade target, he could be interesting.
  2. the ducks are very tight lipped, wouldn’t be surprised if this is all conjecture based on not hearing anything. I would be pretty surprised based on the identity Verbeek has wanted if he didn’t pick Fantilli, but we’ll see
  3. Idk if he’s been mentioned but I really like Graycn Sawchyn. Was a PPG player playing third line minutes on a stacked Thunderbirds squad. Relentless, quick, smart and plays an all around game.
  4. Sure I agree, but even if you can recoup any value at all you should. I also think it’s a mistake to jot at least see how he does with a new coach, but if he doesn’t want to be here then there’s nothing you can really do. I agree with your assessment in another thread that Comtois was far to prone to disappearing and not having an impact, but he scored 20, maybe he never gets there again, but at some point we’re losing some decent guys for nothing, most of which go other places and play better. So just a concerning trend starting to form.
  5. It’s an AHL deal for sure. He’ll inevitably get 20 games at least when someone goes down with injury, I don’t have any feelings. Other than it’s always discouraging to see other teams do cool stuff and we get Aggozinno lol, but it’s fine. Im sure they want to get SD out of the dumpster and stert making both squads a little more competitive
  6. I gotta say, Verbeek has made a lot of questionable fringe decisions. Milano, Comtois, Mahura, Steel I think o understand Steel, but losing some decent value for absolutely nothing. These little moves start to add up.
  7. Feels very odd. I would argue Villardi and Iafallo > PLD. Feels like a lot of work for a lateral move at best. I could be wrong and maybe you cash in on an unsustainable season from Villardi. This also feels like another roadblock for Byfield, so either he’s being moved to the wing or he is gonna get Lafrenniere’d. I never thought PLD was realistic for the Ducks at this time.
  8. I’m seeing more and more buzz of the Ducks taking Michkov
  9. McTavish and Fantilli are similar players, but I’d your complaint about Zegras is that he doesn’t win battles along the boards then why wouldn’t Fantilli be a good fit? Fantilli gets the puck to Z, or Terry, thhey gets it into the offensive zone, and then they cook.
  10. Zegras is actually fantastic at entering the OZ with control. His draft year he looked very similar to Michkov analytically, but a bit better defensively. Z is obviously not that great defensively currently and he’s been doing this in the big show for a couple of years now. I’ll be interested to see how it looks when the entire team isn’t a tire fire. I think you’re underselling Zegras at the moment and think Fantilli and Z could look very good on a line together. As they compliment each other pretty well.
  11. I recently paid for Mitch Brown and Lassi Alanen’s Patreon for their data tracking. Again, pretty worth it for data charts on prospects. I was looking over and you can really see the differences in Fantilli, Carlsson and Michkov’s games. Fantilli struggles to enter the OZ with control and exiting the DZ with control. So his major weakness is in transition and in the neutral zone, he’s eh defensively, but when he’s got the puck in the offensive zone, he’s dominant, both as a playmaker and a scorer. He’s very good at getting the puck off the boards into dangerous areas as well. I can see why some scouts would see Fantilli as a winger. Carlsson is much better in transition, but not nearly as lethal of a shooter. He’s better defensively as well. Both are great at getting the puck to dangerous areas of the ice. Michkov is elite at everything and the opposite of elite on defense. each player is very good at things others aren’t. I think I’d even lean Michkov over Carlsson, but I’m much more upside oriented and I can get the risk. Fantilli is still my guy, I love his game, but I’ll be happy with any of these guys.
  12. A lot of people project Carlsson as a Center. I actually wouldn’t be surprised if Fantilli is the one who ends up as a winger.
  13. Side note, I really hope they have someone better than Colby Armstrong commentating the draft this year. He spent almost the entire time Mintyukov was picked talking about Minions…
  14. I have no idea what you’re trying to say
  15. 90% of the value of those jerseys is that they are player worn and are auctioned. So it’s still got to be a huge hit to the amount of money.
  16. Athletic put out a “bargain” options this season. Ryan Donaton and Connor Brown stand out as some decent value options for the bottom six
  17. Durzi to the Yotes for a 2024 2nd rounder. Pretty good trade for Arizona. Kind of move I’d like to see the Ducks do, use draft capital to get a good young player from a cap strapped team
  18. I don’t really know what defecting would look like, but players can buy themselves out of KHL contracts, Miroshnechenko just did it.
  19. It’s not merch, those jerseys get auctioned off to relevant charities. So it’s much worse than that, the NHL is actively preventing good charities from being able to receive donations. Like 5 dudes didn’t wear the jersey last year. They can get over it, typical Bettman taking the fall for the terrible ownership group that probably wanted this more than any player
  20. good news is Michkov is out of Russia before that violent coup, bad news is he has no style.
  21. They do have a coach and it’s one of the more publicly known abusive coaches in Babcock.
