  1. clip starts at like 11:30-12:00 minute mark. Sounds pretty much like any other hockey player interview. Idk that I would read into it much.
  2. possible option at 33, he’s been ranked on early to late 20’s
  3. Yeah, where do you think these insiders get this kind of information?
  4. That would be a report. It could be who knows. Who cares. I don’t get why people are this upset, It’s a discussion board about who we’re picking in the draft a week away. New information was brought up, we discussed it. I’ve said several times I think it’s Fantilli and I agree with most things you say about him. But he does have red flags, he’s only decent defensively, he dominates a lot by overpowering and he might not be able to do that in the NHL, he’s had 2 underwhelming tournaments away from the NCAA, both of which he was outperformed by Carlsson. Carlsson has put up top 3-4 numbers ever by a draft eligible player against men. Michkov is putting up unprecedented numbers against men and is doing it on a terrible team. He’s out producing Ovechkin at the same age. that’s worth a conversation. again I’ve said this like 100x Fantilli is my guy and whether or not any report is bs or it doesn’t happen, it’s worth talking about. I’ve been far more willing to talk about other options with our other picks than most anyone else here.
  5. It’s just information being reported my man. I actually disagree. This is the first season where it matters what Verbeek does, if any GM in the league has the runway to wait for Michkov it’s him. I think most of the last few weeks have been posting about the 2nd round options. And it’s why I pay sites like Elite Prospects to get info on those types of guys. I don’t get why you’re so upset about this lol. The fun thing about the second pick in this draft is you pretty much get your pick of 3-4 players that probably go first overall in any other draft. Again I think it’s probably Fantilli, but it’s fun to talk about those types of guys. And it’s exciting because this draft is probably franchise altering. When Elliot Friedman is getting reports that the Ducks could take Michkov, it’s something you at least entertain.
  6. I think it’s gonna be Fantilli don’t get me wrong. But it’s interesting what going on with Michkov. Elite offensive talent, not many GMs can afford the time investment. Fun what if. I also think all these character flaw reports have to be a team like Washington trying to get him to fall. That’s my conspiracy theory
  7. I’ve been seeing more and more, analysts saying that the Ducks are just starting their rebuild, which just isn’t true. So that’s how I read it, can be wrong. ultimately you take your guy. He’ll be in Nashville, so they’ll interview him. He’s expressed desire to play in the NHL, so that’s all I can work with. my concern past geopolitical stuff is that I just don’t know how you make your forward group better at this stage. Gaucher, Perrault, Tracey and Pastujov are kind of it at this point. Perrault and Tracey have seemingly stalled out, maybe Hvidston can be a depth option? But I think passed Zegras and McTavish I don’t know where the large improvement comes from.
  8. I don’t think I agree with this assessment that the Ducks are in a long rebuild. I think they should be starting the climb back up. This feels like it reeks of national media doesn’t actually know anything about the Ducks situation. I’ve kind of bought into this idea that the Ducks are actually a decent spot for Michkov in the sense that Verbeek probably does have the longest leash for a GM. I can understand betting on what you have and then adding a Michkov to prime Z, McTavish, Zellweger. Mintyukov etc would he tantalizing and could be a huge boost, and it probably gets the team kind of eh and secures another high pick. Idk if I like that as a fan, but I can see some logic there
  9. I actually think that’s a good idea. My only gripe is I think Zadorov is a bit of a dirty player, but I would take a swing.
  10. Fowler - Helleson Lacombe - Drysdale Zellweger/Mintyukov/Veteran - Shattenkirk based on anything I can foresee is probably what I go. Someone like Gryzcek or something. I like Hanifin a lot and if you can get him for a reasonable deal you probably do it, but I am hesitant to clog the left side seeing as we have Fowler and a ton of prospects coming soon.
  11. So apparently Calgary is crumbling. Hanifin, Toffoli, and some others apparently are not going to resign. I would love to kick tires on Noah Hanifin, he could be a great addition.
  12. interesting listen, they fielded some Ducks related questions and it’s time stamped if that’s all you care about. couple of interesting tidbits Some insiders saying they “wouldn’t be surprised” if the Ducks take Michkov, again could mean nothing, but sometimes when there’s some smoke there’s some type of fire. is the big one I guess. They’re also very high on the Ducks current prospect pool.
  13. I would much rather watch Shattenkirk. Shattenkirk is a much better player. If you want Myers because you can get assets to take cap and field another terrible pylon, sure, whatever I guess.
  14. I have a hard time thinking Shatty won’t be back. Free agent class is bad, Verbeek probably isn’t going to want to commit money and term until at least 1-2 of the prospects show something. Shattenkirk I’m a bottom pairing leadership role is fine. Shattenkirk with Beaulieu, Benoit and a random AHLer will give me indigestion though.
  15. I have been interested in Yamamoto for a bit. I did get Colton from CTP. Lightning have a history of producing some solid depth players. They always seem to have guys making tiny bits of money that play well. I don’t know that I prescribe to the thinking that because they play a certain way currently they won’t at all, but Yamamoto is more a type of guy I’m interested in. Younger, maybe hasn’t totally hit the potential and seems to kind of be on the outs. Low risk, high reward type guys. Lafrenierre is another one in that type of mold. im not committed to anyone particularly, but free agency this year is pretty bad. So trying to find some of those smaller moves that can pay off is smart. Start putting some talent in the lineup.
  16. Any opinions on taking a shot at Yamamoto? He’s small and hasn’t put up the counting numbers, but he seems to be on the outs in Edmonton. I think it would be a good idea on taking flyers on some of these types of players. Another name that comes to mind is Ross Colton in Tampa, he’s an RFA. I think it’ll be important to start finding quality middle to bottom six options to fill out the team.
  17. I don’t think so, but I don’t know for sure
  18. Ziemmer Gauthier Lind Lardis Dragicevic Akey Heidt Perron are all guys who could be available in that ballpark that I would be happy with.
  19. Someone Mitch Brown mentioned possible being a Ducks type prospect.
  20. Sure, there’s value on that approach, it’s exciting and it paid off. But the only reason they ever did that was because they made the cup that first year. So they bought into the now and used everything they got in the expansion draft and every pick they got to get the team they have now. I don’t know that the ducks have enough to buy like Vegas, but I would love to be that aggressive for sure, but I’d like to see some sign of life before I shotgun everything we have of value.
  21. There’s always guys available. I swear this is the most doomer, dramatic and drastic this board has ever been. There is tons of trades the Ducks aren’t in position for. They should be shipping off guys until they know what they have enough to start sending excess value off. I would argue it wouldn’t be all that great of a move to get someone like Matthews or Marner. Nothing is more valuable than effective, young nhl player on a elc, in the cap world.
  22. The more accurate picture is. Fantilli crushes a guy into the boards, sends a puck out to Zegras or Terry at the circles and positions himself for a tap in at the far post.
  23. We’re not in a position for that move. You make that move when 2-3 of these guys blossom into real nhl players and then you can assess who you view as expendable to acquire players that make your team better now to push you over the top.
