  1. You massively overvalue face offs. But there’s no value to a discussion about this. We’ve been down this road
  2. I don’t agree with the move Zegras to the wing movement. I don’t think his skill set really contributes to be a successful winger. He needs to improve defensively, but I think Z provides much more to you as a center offensively and I think you’re limiting his skill set. But I’m not a professional. We’ll see I guess
  3. Her model projects Terry’s value being a 8.7 million dollar player. Bob Murray and Dallas Eakin’s incompetence might have saved us some dollars of Terry had a fair shake his first few years. It was so obvious he was going to be a good player even back then. So thanks for that I guess.
  4. I think we’re reading into the whole 4.5 million thing. It wasn’t a contract offer it was for arbitration and it was lowballed specifically so that when the arbitrator rules somewhere in the middle, which they almost always do. It was closer to what the team wanted. So I would assume the Ducks were offering around 6 million AAV and came up to 7 to get the deal done. also 7 is still a good deal. Terry is pretty comparable to Bratt and Bratt got 1 more year and 825k more per year. So I think, panic inducing timing aside, it’s tidy work. Now give him the C
  5. I don’t think bridging your stats is ever a good idea. If that’s all he’s willing to do then fine, I feel like this board really underplays how good Z has been. If he pops off on his bridge deal, which is more likely than not, you’re adding millions more on the AAV due to production, age, buying UFA years, etc. even if he’s not a defensive dynamo, it’s clear he can easily be a 30 goal, PPG player in his prime at least.
  6. I think this deal is going to age well. Terry has been fantastic on awful teams. As this team improves and if he can be closer to a PPG player, which I think he can be, 7x7 is gonna look like a steal.
  7. I believe Eric Stephens is reporting it as a 7x7, perfectly fine contract. Not sure I love taking this to the last moment, but I guess it’s irrelevant at the end of the day.
  8. I’m losing faith in Verbeek’s ability to negotiate, what is this offer? Horrible work here letting this get to arbitration.
  9. Sure, if that’s the case, not much you can really do. I’m starting to sweat Terry, would really appreciate just getting this done
  10. 8 million by 8 years for Zegras, highest id go is 8.5-ish. 7x6 for Terry, I don’t mind the extra two years, but maybe come in closer to 6.5 for 8 years? i feel safe betting on Zegras. He put up two great offensive seasons on the worst offensive team in the league and last year on the worst team in stats history lol. I feel confident he will improve defensively and can be a solid 80-100 point guy on a good version of this team. I really don’t like bridging your top talent, I think it really sets the team up for failure. Bridge him for two years he gets better and now you pay him what? 10 million a year? I’d prefer just to lock him up.
  11. I’m not a fan of how close we are to taking Terry to arbitration. I’ve not been impressed how it seems Verbeek negotiates at least from the outside looking in. I have to imagine the issue is term. Terry either wants short term to get to UFA or 8 years. I would imagine Verbeek wants closer to 5-6 years. Ultimately Terry should be a priority and I’m not a fan of taking that type of guy to arbitration for a year or two of difference
  12. I’ve been dreaming of this moment. It’s finally over.
  13. Yeah, some of those issues are why Detroit is doing what they’re doing. Detroit has been super unlucky with the lottery, they decided to say screw it, we’re going for it with what we have. Ducks are pretty well stacked with grade a prospects, I think give a couple years and Anaheim is gonna be a pretty desirable place.
  14. I would really like to see Dostal get like 30-35 games this season. Regardless if Gibson is on the team or not. Eventually you need to see what you have in Dostal. I think he’s shown he’s an NHL caliber goalie, just need to determine if he’s a starter. The first year being a two way gives me some feeling that Verbeek is planning on bringing in another guy for competition. Not sure if they end up signing Suchanek or not, he could be an AHL option. Ducks have really stocked up on goalies these last few years, so I’m interested to see what we end up doing.
  15. I’m leaning towards him getting 9 games and going back to Sweden.
  16. Not as relevant to the Ducks anymore as Steel and Comtois aren’t on the team anymore. Interesting to see the fallout.
  17. Eventually as a team the Ducks are going to have to make moves and say we’re no longer going to be bad, I’d trade a 2024 first if we’re getting back something that gives me confidence that this team will no longer be bad. Idk if Lafrenierre is that, he very well could be
  18. Don’t acquire good players because you might hurt someone’s feelings. NHL GMs are so soft
  19. also I think you guys are underselling some moments Ducks single handedly sent Toronto fans into hysteria after beating them in OT to the point they were calling for people’s heads. That was fun!
  20. Seems like he could be a great defensive assistant coach. I can buy that. I’m excited to see how this team looks
  21. Because you should be offersheeting him and not giving them a choice
  22. I’d call up New York and tell them that I want Lafrenierre and I’ll give ‘em a second, maybe another asset for Laf or I’m just gonna offer sheet him. I’m not taking on 4 more years of Goodrow’s contract.
  23. Trading both Goodrow and Laf make no sense, If they’re getting rid of Goodrow, it’s to make space to sign Lafrenierre. But sure see if you can make a trade I don’t care, do what you gotta do to get the player. I have zero interest in Goodrow
