  1. There’s 4 clear players with #1 overall talent (and would have been picked #1 if they were in last years draft), but Michkov is a wildcard because he’s Russian. If it comes down to us in the #4 spot and Michkov is the last of the 4 remaining Verbeek has a big decision to make.
  2. Assuming Gibson is still out (crossing my fingers) hopefully the Ducks are smart enough to play Eriksson Ek against the Coyotes, and save Dostal for Colorado the next day. That’s the best way on paper to set up for 2 losses.
  3. So happy to be wrong, but man that was NOT a comfortable watch. Tanknation was pretty fortunate in the 1st half of the game because the Ducks were getting the better chances and the Oilers looked like they were recovering from a street fight the night before. Even McDavid looked slow and off his game. Once they got that 1st goal they woke up a bit. It really is too bad Henrique, Terry and Zegras are in the lineup. We’d have #1 locked up without them. Just have to hope we keep getting lucky these remaining 4 games. These last two games have been way too close for comfort.
  4. Sure hope the Oilers have a lot left in the tank after their game against the Kings. That was a high paced, hard checking game. Lots of scrums after the whistle. I’ve got a bad feeling we’re gonna get one on them tomorrow. Hope I’m wrong.
  5. Ahhh good stuff. Good. Gooooood.
  6. Did they? I hadn’t heard. I hope that’s correct.
  7. This actually isn’t 100% true. One thing to keep in mind is ROW. The Ducks only have 1 less ROW than SJ. So if the Ducks were to pick up 4 points - two wins in reg/OT - then we would hop them. I’m not sure on the 2nd tiebreaker, but that could come into play with the Sharks should we tie in ROW. I don’t know why the 1st tiebreaker isn’t regulation wins instead of ROW now with OT being almost as much of a gimmick as the shootout. Ducks have a 3 game edge with RW against the Sharks.
  8. lol what? The biggest factor of our recent tank results is we’ve been missing key offensive players and not even Gibson has been able to bail the team out. Combine that with the worst defense in the league and we are where we are. Add back in all that missing offense? We’ll see what happens, but I hope they are already thinking of the golf course.
  9. The Ducks just had a 5 game stretch at the beginning of March where they picked up 6 points (2-1-2).
  10. I think there’s a decent chance we finish 4th. I posted about it a few days ago in here, but I didn’t realize how unlucky we are with the scheduling. 3 games are teams playing on the 2nd night of a b2b. If we win 3 games we need San Jose to pick up 3 more points to finish 3rd. If we have Terry and Zegras in the lineup, and god forbid Henrique, there’s probably only a 5% chance we finish 1 or 2.
  11. Flames 🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡 Did us in like a boss and then let the Hawks get one up on them. Through 77 games we sit in 1st. Now it’s up to us not to frak it up (we probably will).
  12. Gotta say, I think I’m rooting for the Kings tonight just for any extra small percentage chance the Oilers will be more motivated to light us up tomorrow.
  13. My god that was a miracle not picking up at least a point against Calgary. Thank you Flames 🫡 I’m so proud of this team right now going 8 straight games with ZERO points. Simply amazing tanking. I have a bad feeling the tide is about to turn though. We’re going to win eventually. Those Coyotes? They suddenly remembered they were supposed to be tanking. They’ve lost 7 straight including 4 at home. That’s probably going to be a win, especially if we lose to Edmonton. Here is a HUGEEEEEE problem: 3 of our last 5 games will be against teams who have to play us on the 2nd of b2b games. The Oilers, Avs, and Canucks all play the Kings the night before they play us. That could be 3 wins for us right there. Awful scheduling could bite us in the butt with these games. I could really see us winning 3, maybe even 4 of our last 5 games and finishing 4th. If it’s 3 maybe we could get lucky and SJ picks up 3 points so we’ll finish 3rd.
  14. Blehhhhhhhh Zegras is back in for us tonight.
  15. I’m crossing my fingers hard that Minnesota wins their frozen four game next week. If they do there’s no chance for LaCombe to play in any Ducks games this year. Can’t have him do the same thing Thrun did tonight lol.
  16. SHARKSSSSSSSSSSSSSS let’s gooooooooo.
  17. If the only reason Terry is missing games is because his wife is expecting then let’s hope the delivery date stalls another week so he misses more than just this road trip lol.
  18. So far Thrun has 2 secondary assists in his NHL debut for the Sharks. Well… if he helps out our tank…
  19. Aw man, Blackhawks hit the post with their goalie pulled. Then EN goal for the Blues. So close for them picking up a point.
  20. Columbus somehow picked up a point in Boston. Good start to tonight. Ducks need to take care of their own business though.
  21. Sharks getting those two points! If you look at the schedule these are the potential winnable games for each team: Ducks: Coyotes and Canucks. You can throw LA in there since it’s a rivalry and the last game of the season. Kings might already be looking towards the playoffs. Hawks: Blues, Canucks, and Flyers. CBJ: Panthers, Sens, Flyers, and Sabres. Sharks: Coyotes. That’s it for them 😂 But as we just saw with the Sharks beating the Jets, teams are likely going to win a couple games they should lose, and maybe lose those winnable games. All we can really hope for is the Ducks keep losing games, and if Zegras and Terry are out that reallllllllly helps things.
  22. We all have pretty tough schedules remaining, although Columbus has the “easiest” of the 4 teams. I could see a few wins there. Just looking at us though, I’m struggling to see a win if we don’t have Terry and Zegras in the lineup. I suppose Gibson could always steal one. That’s something we have that the others don’t. All that being said, we’ve already lost 5 in a row and I don’t see us finishing on a 13 game pointless streak. That just doesn’t happen. The others will probably win at least one more game too. So we will probably need to lose out to move up…though…if Chicago can just be one win better than us to finish out the season we’ll finish 3rd.
  23. Zegras left the game and didn’t return. If both him and Terry miss many games/all of the rest of the season then all of the sudden we have a much higher chance of finishing better than #4 overall. Crossing my fingers.
  24. Montreal won in the 12th round of the SO against Buffalo. Awesome. We’ll stay 8 points back even if we manage to beat Colorado.
  25. lol I just simmed the lottery around 40 times…only 1 time did we end up #1 (1st time I tried). We only ended up at #2 maybe 3-4 times. I’d say about 75% of the time we ended up dropping one spot and picking #5. Prepare yourself for the inevitable.
