  1. I think there’s a good chance his production would have hurt the tank more than the value of an additional 2nd. We’re already struggling to secure a top 3 pick, and I think those positions are crucial (top 4 if Verbeek is willing to draft Michkov).
  2. Lucky to get bailed out tonight. Gibson needs to tweak a groin or get traded if the whispers are to believed (I’d probably prefer the going tweak).
  3. Yeah, that was a bad win. Got a bad feeling we won’t be able to out tank Chicago and Columbus. If we don’t draft top 3 this season could be a disaster, unless we get lucky picking the right player. I’d say top 4 but I don’t know that we’ll take the risk on Michkov.
  4. Chicagoooooooooo TWO TIMES. LOL wow, I’d be furious if I was a Hawks fan. Down 3-0 and they come back to win 4-3. Stars scored a goal at the buzzer that would have sent it to OT, but it was a fraction of a second too late. We now have a 4 point gap between being 3rd. We play the Hawks on Monday at home. Just need to take care of business against Caps and Canes so even if we beat the Hawks we’re still ahead.
  5. Chicagoooooooo let’s goooo. Canucks got a point after being down 4-2 in the 3rd. Add to that, we got blasted and Henrique didn’t come back from being injured so maybe he’ll miss some games. Pretty good tank day.
  6. Finishing last overall is all about having the best chance at #1 and #2 overall. Bedard is the best prospect to come out since McDavid so of course everyone wants him. However, Fantilli would probably be the 1st overall pick every year since 2017. He’s nearly at 2 points/game as a freshman in NCAA. That simply doesn’t happen.
  7. That was a really unlucky point we picked up today. Thankfully it wasn’t two, and thankfully San Jose won so we actually picked up a point there.
  8. 3 point game in Arizona, and the Ducks now sit dead last in the NHL. End the season now please.
  9. I would have been losing my mind if I was a Yotes fan. Down 5-1… such an unnecessary point for them.
  10. What’s sad is no one is even close to us on goal difference, and we only have 7 regulation wins on the season. Next closest is Chicago at 11. If we weren’t picking up all the extra points in OT/SO we’d have a much better position.
  11. Zegras completely mind broke that guy. It’s been a while since I’ve seen someone short circuit for that long. Absolutely hilarious.
  12. Hahahaha I can’t believe Teemu bleeping tweeted that. Hilarious. We’ve kind of screwed up the tank these past few games, but the silver lining is everyone else was picking up points too. Don’t really like how close we’re getting to out of the top 5 though.
  13. Absolute disgusting choke job against Columbus. I was wondering what the hell Eakins was thinking putting Gibson in at the start of the 2nd. At least let it get to 4-0 before doing that. I purposely didn’t make fun of the Sharks for their choke job the night before against Dallas thinking, “it could happen to us” and then we pull the same thing the exact same way, score line and all.
  14. Habs and Canucks both won tonight. That pushes the gap to 11 points for the Ducks to fall out of the top 5.
  15. BJ’s almost blew a 4-0 lead, but they won 4-3 in the end. Let’s goooo.
  16. The way Ducks finish out January… 5 of 8 games against Philly, Buffalo, Columbus and Arizona (2x). Good news for the tank is all but 1 of them is on the road. I’m still nervous.
  17. That page you linked is just some random user submitted list. If you go to Mintyukov’s player page and scroll all the way down you’ll find what I copied: https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/527453/pavel-mintyukov
  18. He was ranked around there by a bunch of places. This is just from eliteprospects round up: 2022 NHL Entry Draft: Ranked #7 by Elite Prospects 2022 NHL Entry Draft: Ranked #13 by ISS Hockey 2022 NHL Entry Draft: Ranked #10 by FCHockey 2022 NHL Entry Draft: Ranked #11 by TSN/Craig Button 2022 NHL Entry Draft: Ranked #11 by McKeen's Hockey 2022 NHL Entry Draft: Ranked #12 by TSN/McKenzie 2022 NHL Entry Draft: Ranked #6 by NHL Central Scouting
  19. Rough couple games for the tank. Gibson too good against Dallas. On the plus side, McTavish had himself a game against San Jose, and they still got a point. Can’t lose them all, and if the Ducks are gonna win it’s best to have it happen because of a crucial young player beasting.
  20. Need to keep creating our own luck. Let’s keep this tank rolling after two good results. Stars hopefully will be focused after losing to LA, and we’ve got a big one against San Jose on Friday.
  21. Bleh, we shouldn’t have gotten a point tonight. Better than 2 though.
  22. Gotta send Dostal back down at this rate lol.
  23. It would have been nice to lose to the Habs when it became 2-2. Got to see some good play, and then could have gotten a good tank result too. Ah well, can’t lose them all. Not even halfway through the season yet so a lot can happen; hopefully we can keep this tanknation going strong.
  24. The 2nd ranked draft prospect just turned 18 2 weeks ago and has 16 points in 7 NCAA games, playing for Michigan. There’s also a hotshot Russian available too. Good year to have a top 3 pick. Embrace the pain.
  25. I think I’d prefer someone richer who’s more interested in having a team as a hobby vs. running a business. Moreno ran the team as a business (unwilling to spend more than what the team brought in each year), and that didn’t work when he also meddled in the baseball side of things. Samueli wouldn’t meddle, but I also don’t think he would take the Angels to the next level like Steve Cohen did with the Mets. I think Samueli would absolutely keep payroll in line with revenues. So I’d prefer some ultra rich guy come in, hire competent people, and then give them a near blank check to get it done. Steve Ballmer sounds pretty good (worth 98 billion dollars). If not a guy like that, then I’d prefer an ownership group like the Dodgers have. Same kind of deal; lots of money to spend, they invest heavily in management, and then let them take care of everything from spending money on scouting/development to free agent acquisitions.
