    I get that but you can only ice 6 D men and preferably they´re not all small PMD´s. It´s not that those kids are 10 years apart either so if they all pan out - which is a great problem to have - we´re gonna create a logjam.

    At some point you gotta start moving out some of those PMD prospects. Although I don´t know them Port and Dionicio seem to be that type of player. Add them to Drysdale, Mintyukov & Zellweger. I get that PV wants to compete for a long time but they´re pretty much the same age. It´s odd to me seeing how shallow we are at wing. Anyway I have faith in Madden so we´ll see. I do hope for the love of all that is holy that we keep Rodwin Dionicio. Best name ever.

    This is the worst hockey news since they won #1 overall. I hate that franchise. Hope Perry doesn´t sign but I guess he´ll mentor Bedard. He apparently did a great job of that in Montreal with caufield.

    Thanks for posting this. Hopefully our fellow disappointed fans find some consolation in this. If he doesn´t want to be here he doesn´t want to be here. Let´s prove him wrong. Can´t wait to see Carlsson in the NHL (or perhaps AHL at first).

    Taylor Hall and Kevin Hayes just got traded for nothing so yeah. We´ve a got a couple of 2nd rounders. Sean Durzi got traded for a 2nd rounder. Maybe PV wants to take another stab at Niederreiter for example.

    Just read through this topic and saw a couple of dumb things but come on. What do you think made Getzy such a great player? Carlsson is definitely somebody to be excited about. Anyway I got what I wished for so I´m happy. Now let´s hope for some trades/signings.

    My thoughts exactly. And it´s stupid (at least as far I´m talking about me) because I have never seen Fantilli play but there´s just something that makes me feel uneasy about him. I don´t have that with Carlsson. Funny thing over on hfboards. In 2 separate threads I saw a Montreal fan (might have been the same guy) posting that he´d gladly trade #5 for Drysdale. Imagine that, having both #2 and #5. It would never happen of course but it´s fun speculating. I wonder whether that package could entice chicago because no matter how great Bedard is, he´s just one guy. And chicago needs a lot more than just one - even a generational one - guy.

    I´m not sad about it. PLD is a very good player don´t get me wrong but I think vilardi showed a lot of promise. And if PLD decides life in LA isn´t all that great he probably wants to go to Montreal.

    According to Seravelli philly wants to move up in the top 5 and is prepared to throw in #7 and #22. Montreal also wants to gain at least a spot. If PV and Madden are confident in their scouting would they consider it? Especially if it´s Montreal. You still end up with most likely Michkov or Smith and you can probably ask for one of their best prospects (Roy, Hutson, Farrell). Fantilli may turn out to be the next Mackinnon but if Michkov/Smith pan out and you can add another blue chip prospect that´s quite a haul too.

    I know he´ll be extended but he seems to be a guy who doesn´t like to stick around.

    I´m not opposed to the kings moving vilardi. And who knows for how long PLD sticks around?

    I hope we pick Carlsson. His ceiling might be lower than Fantilli´s but I think Carlsson is less risky.

    Lindholm and Backlund also don´t want to extend according to Seravelli. Sucks to be a flames fan. Having just signed Kadri and Huberdeau to huge contracts I don´t see them rebuilding but who knows? Hanifin and Zadorov are interesting for sure.

    The yotes bought out Patrik Nemeth. He´s slow and brings absolutely no offense but could he be useful on our bottom pairing? He´s big and physical whereas the rest of our D corps is well ... not big and physical. Soucy or Mayfield are far superior so I´m all for that but we have trouble signing the better players out there.

    Would Conor Garland be of interest for us? Apparently the nucks want to dump him. He´s a small dude but he´s pretty fast and can forecheck. Given the right situation he can put up decent numbers. I think he´s best suited for a 3rd line role. He does make 5 mil which is a lot for a 3rd liner but we have the space.

    And Carlsson can´t do that? I think he may be stronger along the boards than Fantilli. The latter wins the skating though.

    Might have been part of the problem but I seem to recall they were pretty much a one line team: Spezza- Alfredsson-Heatley. Once they went up against Moen-Pahlsson-Niedermayer it was game over. Maybe I'm not giving the rest of their team enough credit but our team was stacked. Anyway it's the Cup finals. Long layoff or not, you have to come out with energy. Losing game 1 or 2 isn't a disaster either. If Florida can earn a split on the road they're in a good position. If not by game 1 they should at least have their focus back by game 2.

    Florida all the way. I hope the long layoff doesn't affect their play too much in game 1. It'll be 10 days I think. Having rested players is a good thing but they were on a roll.

    Context matters. The way ike wrote it down it came accross as a very black or white situation to me which it obviously isn´t. But thanks for clarifiyng. Anyway to stay on topic, Bobby Ryan wasn´t a bad player for us. Would I like our pick to have a better career? Sure. But we could get a lot worse than Bobby Ryan. The wait is almost over. Too bad we don´t have a coach already.

    This is uncalled for. You never know what goes on in somebody´s life. But in his case it was probably a lot since his drunk father beat his mother half to death.

    It´s hard to predict how good a prospect will turn out to be but all year long the whole hockey world has said that Fantilli, Carlsson & Michkov could go 1st overall if not for Beddard, the hottest hockey commodity since Connor McDavid. It´s still a guessing game. Maybe we end up with Nolan Patrick 2.0 . Maybe Aleksander Barkov. Time will tell but based on what we know so far you might be selling these guys short.

    My sentiments exactly. I think Carlsson got the most TOI among forwards in one of the 1st games. That is very telling. His ceiling might be lower than Fantilli´s but maybe he has a better chance of hitting his ceiling than Fantilli.

    Couldn´t agree more. A damn fine is all they got. They should have forfaited picks (and I don´t say this because I want Bedard). Something they really would have felt.
