  1. And an OT assist. Granted it was a block on a clearing attempt but still an assist.
  2. Thanks for clarifiyng. It´s a very nice city and the history part is in fact great.
  3. I don´t want to hijack this thread but I´m just curious as to why? I´m not from around so I may see things in a different light but my wife and I went to Boston a couple of years ago and we loved it. Has nothing to do with the Bruins but we really enjoyed the city. To stay on topic, I don´t do predictions as to not jinx anything (as if I´m almighty but it´s dumb superstition) so I only express hope. I hope it´s not the leafs because I think giordano is a dirty POS who doesn´t deserve the Cup. I have no problem with other leafs so if they dump him they can win it for all I care. No real preference but - sorry Gorb - I wouldn´t mind the Bruins because of Hampus and the season they had (and Marchand who´s also dirty already has his name on it) or the oilers because of McDavid and Draisaitl. Those guys really deserve to have their name on The Cup.
  4. This, his size and the fact that he can contribute on the D side of the game. https://thehockeywriters.com/leo-carlsson-2023-nhl-draft-prospect-profile/
  5. You´re not sure what you´re getting in Carlsson (it´s a draft so you´re never sure but you know what I mean) but at least you´re sure you are getting him. That´s not so certain in Michkov´s case although I´m pretty sure he - like all players - would like to shine in the best league in the world which is the NHL. But it´s still a factor and Carlsson has the size advantage which PV likes so I put my money on Carlsson. Preferably this is a moot point because we get Bedard 😁
  6. This historically bad season already paying dividends. A guranteed top 3 pick and Eakins gone. Having said that I hope we never have to go through this again. Hoping your team will lose feels very wrong.
  7. I´d be amazed should we get #1. I don´t see it happening. Watch the canucks end up with #1. I think they´re at 11 now so they just might win it. Would be great for Bedard and vancouver him being a hometown kid.
  8. I rather see the jackets play an angry team than a motivated team. Great work by the Islanders.
  9. My bad but even better. Go Isles!
  10. We´re all Islanders tonight. If they win they qualify and pittsburgh´s last game in columbus is meaningless to them. And of course we´re all kings on thursday. It´s not fun but whatever it takes.
  11. Another horrible tank night. You can bet we beat the ´tired and have nothing left to play for´ nucks tomorrow. It´s between us and the sharks now. Last and 2nd to last are gone.
  12. Montour hit 70 points today. Crazy. Congrats to him. Looks like they might make it to the playoffs.
  13. Horrible tank night as I don´t see the hawks and sharks turn it around. Also bad, the kings losing. They´re losing ground on the oilers and knights. Therefore that game against us becomes meaningless (unless the Kraken catch up with them).
  14. Has Terry's wife already given birth? And what was up with Gibson? Scheduling might really screw us over. Both the Avs and the nucks on the 2nd night of a back-to-back. That last game against the kings might be meaningless to them. We really have to hope the hawks, sharks and jackets pick up a few points along the way because no way we're gonna end the season on a 13 game losing streak.
  15. They sure still have a lot to play for. Home ice advantage against the kings or even 1st in the West. Hard work beats talent if talent doesn't work hard but the oilers have some incredibly talented players and The Ducks don't work that hard so let's hope they beat us. And maybe McDavid and Draisaitl like to up their stats a bit more.
  16. I definitely say no to Travis Green. Gronborg intrigues me but he has no NHL experience. I know there were some problems in buffalo but what about former Duck Dan Bylsma? He did a hell of a job in pittsburgh (with a very good team that is). What is Alain Vigneault up to these days?
  17. That sharks - coyotes game is on the 2nd night of a back-to-back for the yotes. Never thought I'd see the day but I'm actively rooting for the sharks the rest of the way.
  18. All of that doesn't matter as long as the other teams don't overtake us and I just can't see that happening. They have no remaining games between them so no hope for points there. Columbus lost 8-2 to montreal the other night and chicago 6-1 against the caps. I don't see them winning another game. The sharks play the jets (twice), knights, yotes, avs (twice), flames & oilers (twice). That's a tough remaining schedule.
  19. Looking at their schedules it´s indeed unlikely that one of them will overtake us. No matter how bad we are.
  20. The next three games for montreal are the jackets, sabres & flyers. Then a 4 game homestand (panthers, canes, wings & caps). They close out the season against the leafs, isles and Bruins. Bruins is the last game at home. Don't know whether the Bruins will rest some players but I can see them winning some games against those opponents. We have the Avs & oilers twice, kraken & kings. Also blues, flames, yotes (their building) & nucks. Not extremely tough but on paper not easier than the habs' schedule IMO.
  21. The bolded part is a bit harsh. I seem to remember a quote from somebody on the blackhawks that our playoff series in 2015 was the toughest they played in their 3 Cup runs. In 2017 we played the conference finals and lost in 6 games. We lost both Gibson and Rakell in game 5 which may have been the difference in losing that series. From a fan persspective that´s too long ago but 6 years is not over a decade. And who was on that team besides Gibson, Fowler and Silfverberg? Last night´s outing was bad don´t get me wrong but give these guys an NHL caliber coach and I´m pretty confident we´ll see a huge improvement.
  22. It was a great night. If the yotes don't have a meltdown they should stay ahead. Them losing doesn't all that matter in that regard. Both phillly and montreal winning is huge though. The CBJ win doesn't all that matter since they're not going to catch us (unfortunately). The biggest win however is us losing big. We were getting some results lately and I was already becoming antsy that PV might extend Eakins but after these last two outings against teams that were on the 2nd night of a back-to-back I can see no way PV is thinking of extending him. Unless we end up with Bedard a new coach will be a bigger differencemaker next season than our draft pick. As long as PV doesn't hire RC that is.
  23. Unfortunately I think it´s pretty safe to say columbus, San jose & chicago are done. Thankfully arizona is racking up points so now it´s Montreal we have to look out for. Barring a lottery miracle we´re not picking lower than 4th.
  24. Damn, philly had 2 points in the bag until the last second but still gave it away in OT. Too bad but they still get a point on the 2nd night of a back-to-back against the canes. That´s one more than I would have thought prior to the game.
  25. I don´t know. I think Chychrun had his mind set on leaving a while ago and then you have to wonder whether it´s beneficial to keep him around any longer. Actually I think arizona overplayed their hand and should have traded him last summer. Probably could have gotten more value. Anyway doesn´t matter. Chychrun or no Chychrun, they´re getting results and that´s all that matters to us.
