Lyubushkin might be the best net front screen in the league

4th from the bottom is piddle poor.
Team has been bad for 7 years, fans will be back when the team is good, if anything I might put some pressure on Verbeek to get this team to start winning

I’m not taking Kuznetsov for free, that’s a contract you have to pay for someone to take. I don’t know that I would hate getting paid to take him, but very low on my desirability ranking

That Kakko and a 1st round pick for Rico and Frank is gonna hit so good

I agree and think he’ll get a Manson return but, guess where that report mainly comes from? Friend of the message board……
I got Seravalli’d, ignore my post

People reporting the Rico ask is a 2nd and two 3rd’s. If Verbeek fails to get a first or at least some equivalent player that’s a massive failure for Verbeek.

Apparently Pavel Buchnevich could be available? I’m definitely interested

DTS mentioned it in a different thread (the Zegras one?) that we have all the pieces in the world to get a lot of people and cap space to boot. Z? Tradeable. McT? Yes sir. Bunch of picks? Absolutely.
Problem is, Verbeek wouldn't trade his picks if his life depended on it. Also, would EP fit the so-called 'team blueprint'? Age-wise etc etc.
I think Vancouver is trying to win, so when I look at the Tkachuk deal
Huberdeau coming off a season with the most assists ever? Or something like that
Weegar
1st lottery protected
Prospect
conversation starts and ends with at least one of Zegras or McTavish
but what else that really makes sense for Vancouver’s window? I think the Ducks could package prospects for sure, but I don’t know if that’s what they want
-
Elias Pettersson contract talks have been rocket reportedly. I don’t think the Ducks have the pieces to make it happen. I think of the Tkachuk deal is probably the most comparable.

I was being sarcastic. Traded an excellent defenseman for very little return.
It’s a good example just how much of a shot in the dark a late first round pick is and why i want Verbeek to flip that pick or target young nhl ready players instead

hope he’s ok. Shoulder was drooping a little after he skated offBelieve it was the same shoulder that he tore his labrum in

Also the only health related thing is that he has diabetes and celiac’s which he manages via his diet and the last time I can find any published concerns about it impacting his play was 4 years ago.

Why do you guys want Kakko? He is simply not good + he has some health problems not related to his injuries history.
His “not good” is a solid two way 30-40 pt player. I’ll take that floor and bet on the ceiling. Hes far more of a sure thing than whatever late 1st round pick we get.

There's always bottom six guys in free agency and actually if Vatrano isn't moved then you have Vatrano-Lundestrom-Strome as a third line. You have Johnston-McGinn as wings for a fourth line or Johnston is the 13th forward. Heck you can bring up Nesterenko to be the 4th line C. The Ducks have options and we still don't know what return Henrique will bring.
So if you package Henrique + Jones <----> NYR 2nd + Kakko (I doubt you get a 1st) + a late round pick (maybe even a prospect) maybe Kakko slots into the top 6 RW.
I would absolutely target Kakko and would like to see Verbeek target guys in that age range of nhl ready guys over picks to be honest

Lundestrom to me is much more competitive and has more skill than Leason or Groulx. He's also on the PK. Leason and Groulx haven't done much to solidify a spot in the line-up. Not that I want Johnston but evidently the coach does.
Jones always has injury problems and when he's out, it's like ok we didn't even know he was gone. McGinn also has another year on his contract.
When guys aren't working out or need a change of scenery why keep them if you can make a trade?
I’m more in agreeable than not. I just don’t know how realistic it is to completely replace your entire bottom six. I think Jones and Lundestrom have probably been good enough to bring back, but also not so good that I would be sad if they did not
-
I don’t know about ALL of the RFA’s but I do think the Ducks need to rework their entire bottom six almost. I think Max Jones has earned a spot or at least another look. I think Leason had a strong start to the year, but I’m not really all that sold on him. Groulx has had really strong moments, but again he’s not really stayed in the line up consistently. I feel like the Ducks top 6 is relatively set.
Zegras - Carlsson - GauthierKillorn - McTavish - Terry
I’m not sold on Lundestrom,
Johnston has TWO MORE YEARS which makes me depressed
you have Strome
maybe you keep Vatrano, but I really don’t think they should.
-
Henrique 50% retained to Colorado/NYR for 1st round pick
Lyubushkin to Toronto for a 4th round pick
Sam Carrick to someone for a 3rd/4th
I think we see one or two of the RFA’s get moved as well
I really want Vatrano to be traded. You should easily get 1st round +, he scores, he kills penalties, plays tough, can play anywhere in your line up and has an extra year at a really affordable price.

Seems like they sold low on Carrick to get that first rounder. Good work. Now flip it for an established young player
