  1. I do if it’s north of 8 mil. He better be putting up 35 goals at a minimum or that contract isn’t going to be great imo.
  2. I don't think Detroit has a dynamic winger in their system after Raymond so Debrincat can fill that role as well. The pressure on Detroit to make the playoffs is ratcheting up. They've missed it for seven straight seasons and I think Yzerman may need to take that swing
  3. Minnesota couldn't keep Fiala either and got a first for him though
  4. Meier also has size and isn't nearly the defensive liability. When the playoffs come, that works in his favor. That means the Ducks would have to overpay to get him and have him forgo free agency which I don't think they should do. If he is steadfast on making 8.5 mil or more and isn't getting it then he may take a one-year deal and bet on himself put up more than the 27 goals he did last season. I don't think he does. If he puts up 40 then I think he's getting around 9 mil maybe slightly more. 10 mil is what you pay to 90+ point players which DeBrincat isn't. He's on an ascendent team in Ottawa and doesn't want to play there. Detroit needs him more than we do because their forward group really is lacking with Bertuzzi gone and Zadina looking like a bust. All they have are Larkin and Raymond. I'm really interested in seeing how McTavish does in his 2nd full season. If he builds of this past season and puts up 50+ points then we can be in serious business up front for the future.
  5. I don't think that he is and Fiala is a more versatile player. Fowler and Gudas will be off the books when Mintyukov, Zellweger and maybe Carlsson need new contracts. If Carlsson goes back to the SHL, then his contract could slide and he will be an RFA when Killorn's deal is up. Drysdale needs to take a big step if he hopes to command any major money. Luneau hasn't signed yet either and he is going back to juniors this year, so he is potentially four years away before he is an RFA when Strome's deal is up. If Debrincat doesn't want an 8x8 deal then pleasant travels elsewhere
  6. Dubois isn’t a winger and has never had a 30-goal season. He’s topped out at 63 points also. He’s a really good defensive center with size which is the opposite of Debrincat. Dubois new 8.5 mil aav isn’t good for the offense he puts up.
  7. Because I think that’s part of the cost for a guy who’s put up 40 goals twice at age 25, imo. What roster player could the Ducks offer up to not have a first as part of the deal? Terry definitely but we won’t trade him and Henrique has one year left on his deal. Ottawa won’t do a Henrique, gaucher, 2nd round pick package which I’d certainly give up. Fiala and Meier are the recent comps for Debrincat and they both got firsts in their returns.
  8. Whether it’s in Anaheim or elsewhere, he’s guaranteed to be the starter going into next season. His job is pretty safe for the time being
  9. Dude just better put up 35+ goals like clockwork if he comes here
  10. What’s a bargain though? If he wants more than 8.25 per year on a 7/8 year deal then it’s not particularly good value given the assets we also have to give up. I agree that Luneau, Zellweger, mintyukov should not be on the table either. if the Ducks are offering a 2024 first round pick even if protected then one of those guys shouldn’t be included anyway.
  11. Well everything sounds all cleared up.
  12. I don’t think that Verbeek is looking to trade Luneau at all right now. Not with Drysdale being a big question mark and Moore possibly Thrun’ing us. I think he wait and sees how everything plays out under new coaching in Anaheim and SD
  13. I don’t think the Ducks are trading gibson if they think he’d get Martin Jones’s and sent to their cross town rival. If Philly called about Gibson then I’d think Verbeek would see that as a likelihood because there is no reason for Philly to want gibson unless they are doing that imo.
  14. Zell-wheeler. Damn, can’t do it much better
  15. LA doesn’t have the cap space and just signed Talbot. Plus, they’d have to launder Gibson through another team since the Ducks won’t trade him there. Philly is heading towards a rebuild which I doubt Gibson wants to be a part of after going through it with the Ducks. Edmonton would be nice but Gibson probably has them on his NTC list. just like the Sabres did with Eichel??
  16. Being sarcastic and still down on those two guys being consistent NHLers lol
  17. Filip Zadina is on waivers. Former 6th overall pick looks to be done in Detroit. Please don’t let this happen to you, Drysdale!!
  18. thanks for the updates! Let me know how my favorite players Gaucher and Myatovic do!
  19. Toronto is going to demand more for nylander imo. His value is probably on par with what Meier went for so I think the Ducks need to add another decent piece to make it happen. Sure but I think we all assume they are on his no-go list and I don’t think he waives for them. New jersey is in a bind because they don’t have goaltending and can’t afford to waste a cup run because of it. Their window is open. Aside from them and Buffalo, what team could use a goaltending upgrade for a playoff run? If St. Louis is fed up with binninngton then maybe that could work but he’s got 4 years left at 6 per and isn’t as good as Gibson.
  20. Toronto doesn’t have the cap space and I doubt would move nylander in a deal. New Jersey would be the ideal spot for him. This saga is hopefully over soon so we can then guess what macklin cellibrini’s number will be in Anaheim!!
  21. DeBrincat will get a first back in a trade package just not the 7th overall and what Ottawa gave up. He’s probably getting a little less than Meier went but slightly more than Fiala. So, a conditional first, a decent prospect and a additional pick imo
  22. I think Buffalo is noticeably ahead of us right now imo. I think we probably two years behind them and they are in the tougher conference. Their young core is better (Thompson, Cozens, Dahlin, Power) and add their prospect pool (Peterka, Quinn, Kulich, Ostlund, Rosen, Savoie and Benson), they look like they can break their curse if they get decent goaltending. I think New Jersey needs an upgrade in net if they want to make a deep run. The Red Wings are interesting because looking at their roster, I don't think they are particularly close to making a deep playoff run and think they could miss out again this season even with all of the changes they've made.
  23. Chicago hasn't made any major long-term commitments though. They brought in guys on very short-term deals that will likely be flipped at the next two deadlines (Hall, Perry, Foligno). They don't have single a forward signed beyond the next two seasons. When Bedard signs his 3-year ELC, he'll have the most term. So, they are not going to make a play for Gibson at imo. I see them going off completely ham next offseason in trades and free agency (which will be a much better class) to put a better and more stable group around Bedard. The Kings have no cap space for a better goalie and are probably hoping after seeing Adin Hill win a cup that they have a shot with Copley and Talbot. They can't afford Hellebuyck this season. The prospect of them having a wasted season because they don't have a goalie is very pleasant.
  24. Gibson getting traded was based on him demanding a trade or the Ducks getting an offer that they couldn’t pass up imo. Keeping him while Dostal continues to cook is absolutely fine if that happens. I thought he’d finally force the Ducks hand but it odds are that he’ll be the starter in opening night. The goaltending market is shrinking (Carolina, Pittsburgh and Ottawa made their moves) and Hellebuyck hasn’t been moved yet, with Carter also in the mix. The two teams where I think he fits that aren’t in Canada (assuming he’s got those teams on his NTC) are New Jersey and Buffalo imo. Maybe the redwings could be interested if they want to make a push and aren’t sold on Husso.
  25. Now way I’m parting with our 2024 pick at this point
